| That's true, with the pressure of time that had been pressing Victor, it may have transformed the policies or ideas he wanted to pursue once he came to power. Therefore it totally could have changed his view point on what to do and may have pushed other things he wanted to do to the background and more "important" things came first. But in knowing that Lissa could give him more time to accomplish more things, he became more power hungry???
Ugh. I am confusing myself haha.

Ugh. I am confusing myself haha. It's ok, I think I understand and agree. After discovering what he believed was the most important thing for the Moroi he was now driven to accomplish it.

| Each time I read one of the books I come up with more theories, so I suspect I'll have something more to say in the next few weeks when I re-read Shadow Kiss again for the Australian online July book-club thing. | |

| Have you ever wondered why Victor never looked scared to go to jail? Well... I have this theory that he would start a revolution from inside the jail. *START CONSPIRACY THEORY* All the jail mates have done wrong or something *shrugs shoulders* and might want to get rid of the royal system in place or the Moroi system where they can't fight. Victor goes to jail with spies but comes out or rather breaks out with an army.... dun dun dun dum... *END CONSPIRACY THEORY*.... Other than that, I dunno... I like Victor because he caused that wonderful scene in Vampire Academy BOok 1 and because he knows things and he really tries to help them with the spirit thing although for his own benefit... but who wouldn't? I mean.. you are old and dying wrongfully due to some disease and there is a way to stop and save you own kind... who wouldn't use one Moroi to save all Morois no matter how twisted and wrong the method is. essa.... conspirator... I'm out.... or am I... (dun dun dun dum...) | |

| It's a nice theory, but I doubt he'd want to get rid of the Royalty system. He was in the running for the throne at one stage and still has hopes of ruling the Moroi community (even if it's indirectly). I like the thought of him joining with the criminals to rebel though | |

| I think he's had a lot of time to work out optional plans. Even when he was first caught, Natalie was his Plan B and I'm sure he probably had a Plan C and D up his sleeves too. He's intelligent, no-one's denying that one, so he'll definitely have more to come. | |

Same. What Victor's done doesn't settle well with me, but I do like the excitment and adventure his actions stir up

| Ok so I reread the first book in the last two days and at the end victor said something to rose that made me think that he is definately up to something... It's when rose goes down to the school dungeon of sorts where they are holding him, and after they are done discussing the dimitri issue they talk about how tatiana probably wouldn't have given him the throne anyways because of his suspicious recovery, then victor saysss...
""you may be right, but it doesn't matter. There are other ways of taking power. Sometimes it's necessary to go outside the established channels. Do you think Kenneth is the only moroi who follows me? The greatest and most powerful revolutions often start very quietly, hidden in the shadows." he eyed me. "remember that.""
Do I sense some possible foreshadowing??? There were a few other things that caught my attention but I can't remember what they were :-/

| I think that might very well be a possibility... Because I am sure there are a bunch or moroi there that would have no problem following him. | |

| yep that makes sense. So Victor knew all along that even if he got away with forcing Lissa to heal him he still wouldn't have been handed over the throne. Victor has had a plan b from the very start. If he ever wants the throne he would have to force tatianna out. I don't really think the person on the throne wields all the power, because it seems to me that victor has quite a bit of power on his own and can go about influencing the moroi in other ways, without abiding by politics and their rules and ridiculous tea parties. Victor can by pass all the formalities if he just commands his ideals unto the others, so long as he has an army to back him of course. | |
