WHat the hell did that mean? I was like... Huh? Someone explain, please! hahahahahaha! I thought the same thing...the first time I read. Then I remembered, I think it was at the end of blood promise when Rose gets back from Siberia she tells adrian she wants him to write down exactly why she should give him a chance. And he does. It included things like not smoking or drinking (as much) and gets referred to in SB and LS as the contract.

| Hi everyone! So I just finished reading LS *sheds tear* ... and have been dying to discuss it with someone!! Cant believe its come to an end. I feel a little sad its over to be honest. I definitely wasnt expecting Tasha to be the culprit! Quite shocked about that... poor Christian He hasnt had much luck - family wise anyway! As for Rose, well I guess she couldnt have had a better ending really. And I loved how she almost went out saving Lissa's life <3 The only slap in the face was Adrian really. I was pretty disapointed about his ending ... majorly gutted actually. What a bum deal he had. I guess there was no other way around that though, better he be alive and broken hearted than dead I suppose :S and I also kind of liked the idea of Adrian and Sydney actually .... hmmm =P | |

| I just thought of something else. Did anyone else feel a little sad for Victors ending? I mean I know he was a psycho, but he was quite an endearing character. His personality (again, minus the psychotic tendencies) was really quite awesome! I think it was his quirkiness that made him so appealing to me... shame for Robert as well =/ | |

And Tasha as well, considering she'll probably get a death sentence. Poor Christian.

| Overall I thought it was a great book (but I still like Shadow Kiss the best!). I read through it really rushed the first time 'cause I was just so excited to finally have it! hahah. I think I missed some things the first time through but I read it again since and it's still amazing Rose is entertaining and funny as usual - I love her humor! I really liked that Dimitri got to be featured more, as we didn't get too much of his non-mentor personality in the other books. Rose and Dimitri are perfect together! It took me some time to come to that realization because I kind of got into Adrian in SB, but then Dimitri's obviously THE ONE in the end Richelle Mead was extremely creative in the Moroi elections tests. The riddle about what the ruler needs to rule was so good! However, I thought quite a few parts weren't evenly spaced out (like, sometimes rushed, sometimes dragged) or very smooth, especially Rose and Dimitri's reconciliation. Also, Victor Dashkov seemed to have been killed off just for the sake of Rose saying 'that was unforgivable', hence making her and Dimitri closer. (though I'm not complaining about that ) Also, I was sad that Christian wasn't featured that much. I missed his witty quips and banter with Rose (that's why SK is my favorite), and he's the best! I hope he'll get some sort of role in Bloodlines! I've always thought Lissa's character wasn't that well developed, and even though we did get to see more of her in LS, my view of her is lower than the other characters. I kind of get tired of hearing about her (through Rose, like "anger coursed through the bond" or "a flash of pain came through" etc) and she's not that nice to Jill... she still is really nice, just a little boring compared to Rose. (hahah, but then anyone could be boring compared to Rose) I'm so sad that Rose's adventures are over... I'm going to miss her a lot. We should write to Richelle and tell her to write 'extras' or something featuring her. hahah | |

I really do love her sense of humour. Couldn't agree more on the amount of Dimitri in this book So nice to see more of him and not just the mentor side of him. We know what Dimitri was like as a Strigoi, that brought out everything in him he kept "in control" being a dhampir, and I have to say I liked him as a Strigoi too But seeing him restored and showing off his more private self, that was great! I just love the scene towards the end, when Rose and Dimitri were on the bed and Lissa came in. The way Rose told Lissa things are always hot with Dimitri around That made me really laugh. Poor Dimitri... not the type to show off his feelings in public. Although he did at the very end, pulling Rose into his arms I'd be so happy if Richelle would do that. She has promised us a cameo by Rose though, and she also said in one of her interviews that she'd love to return to Rose in the future, that she is having a difficult time staying away from her. We can only hope.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! I felt the first half and middle of the book went at a reasonable pace (maybe a little slow at times) and then the last quater was rather rushed. There were a lot of the individual characters story's that didnt get much of an ending. For instance, Sonya and Mikhail, Christian and Tasha, Eddie.... and Adrians final scene was simply gutting in my opinion! Oh yeah, and Sydney! But I guess theres a lot we didnt discover about Sydney which has been left open for the following series! So thats fair enough. But yeah, still very much enjoyed it, but it wasnt my fave out of all the books. Mostly I'm just reeling about Adrian it'll take me a while to get over that

| That was the one thing I didn't like about LS was how Adrian was treated. He was good to Rose, I wanted her with Dimitri but not in a way that was a blow to Adrian's face | |

| Yeah, well in regards to the final scene between Adrian and Rose… at first glance Rose could come across as quite heartless; after all, she did cheat on Adrian! But then if you lay it all out on the table and think back to everything Rose went through with Dimitri, how she practically went to the opposite end of the world and back to save him, you remember exactly why Rose and Dimitri were meant to be! It was just unfortunate for Adrian though, because he did genuinely love Rose. I guess it was inevitable … I always thought Richelle would end up killing Adrian off to end the love triangle, but I’m glad she didn’t! Here’s hoping Adrian’s story wont end just yet. And Rose did suggest he’ll do good things in the future, so who knows! I still think Adrian should be with Sydney though xP lol Can you imagine them together! Their personalities would be explosive! They’d drive each other MAD! I’d love it | |

I didn't like right off the bat how RM wrote off Adrian. She made him instantly weak when his character had grown so much the past couple of books. It wasn't like him to just blow off Rose like he did while she was in jail, not once visiting her while she slept. He was always getting drunk, but that never stopped him from seeing her. Another thing that bothered me was how he handled her being with Dimitri. The previous book when Rose was falling over Dimitri, Adrian was upset, but understanding that she still loved Dimitri. Why would a week later Rose ending up being with Dimitri suprise Adrian at all especially when he sent her away with him. That seems a no brainer. I can imagine Adrian's thought process: "I know you loved him, went to Siberia to save his soul and then commited treason to bring him back from being undead, but I thought after all that you would stay with me even when I'm miles away and he's sleeping in the same room with you after he risked his life to keep you safe while I did nothing." Ahh no. I had hoped in LS there would've been a bigger challenge for Rose to choose between Dimitri and Adrian. That Adrian found a way to come with her, keeping up some type of tension between Adrian and Dimitri. Nothing makes a man go crazy than watching the woman he secretly loves kissing another guy or sleeping with him in the other room. That would've been fun to watch Dimitri learning to forgive himself, so he could fight for Rose vice playing the nice guy. Think of it, Adrian's compulsion/illusions against Dimitri strength. Then Rose putting them both in place. Would've been more interesting than reading pages and pages about the damn cornation decorations and dresses.

Well, maybe people weren't allowed to visit Rose in jail. Abe was able to only because of his influences? (or maybe 'cause he was her 'lawyer') And I would've thought Lissa could've visited too, but perhaps the guards didn't let anyone at all.... I thought it ended really rushed too! I wanted more about Rose and Adrian, maybe some kind of resolution or something...their part was really short. also more about the voting would've been nice.

| CZ, I agree about the whole Adrian/Rose-affair. It doesn't make sense Adrian should be so pi*sed off with her in that final scene. I mean, she is trying to tell him why they were never meant to be, and she isn't being insensitive about it, she is really trying hard to be gentle. And Adrian knew! He knew all along just what Dimitri meant to Rose. It can't have come as a surprise... And honestly, HONESTLY, what did he expect, sending her off with Dimitri like that? Heck, they were even supposed to lie low at some remote hotel. That would REALLY have given them opportunity to be together. No it doesn't make sense. But perhaps it's spirit fuelling his anger and disappointment?

Yeah I think spirit definitely played a part there... he kind of exploded all of a sudden... very out of character for him. You'd think he'd maybe brush it off with a joke or a snide remark but not be so agressive about it, maybe I guess Adrian just really loved Rose in the end But you would think that Adrian would've been more aware of how much Dimitri and Rose loved each other, given their history and all. He couldnt have been that naive surely? Shame it ended that way, because I think Rose and Adrian would've made good friends =/ I think Richelle should just re-write that scene

| Aahh! Finished the book at about 3:30am here in the UK!! I couldn't just put it down when I got to the amazing bits.
Jill as the other Dragomir, how easy did we figure that out?!
Tasha as the killer, we got that one as well, like a shot, in fact. The reason Rose got locked away, we got that as well.
Daniella, she was a suspect with both parties, but ended up as the thief which as surprise to be honest. I didn't expect that at all.
I was so happy when Rose and Dimitri had their alone times in the book, because it meant their feelings were getting much stronger of each other and then they finally gave in at the hotel room. It's right how the book ended with both of them in a relationship. It wouldn't be right if Rose was with Adrian b/c she wasn't right for him and wouldn't be able to love him in the way she loves Dimitri.
Adrian finding out like that, I was quite annoyed RM had written it like that. It was a massive blow to Adrian and it should've been dropped easily so he could handle it better.
Sonya coming back, I really liked that. I'm so happy for her and Mikhail. Now both them and R&D have something, and both couples have gone through something sim
Queen Vasilisa Dragomir...well well well. We got that one as well, but the trails she went through, those were unexpected. Her grandfather had ran for king as well, which was a surprise, but Tatiana got the throne after he pulled out. I'm so happy that Lissa not just got a place on the Council, but is the head of it!
Sydney coming back, loved it. It was great to have her back in the book to help Rose. I hated that we weren't told what Abe had done to black-mail her! I really hope that a she's in Bloodlines. I want to know what had happened to her once they all left for Court to tell everyone about Jill and Tasha.
OK, I just have to mention this...Rose died! I don't believe that! Ye, she came back to life, but without a bond with Lissa! Like WTH...I don't understand I was quite annoyed with when it had happened, that Rose couldn't feel the bond any more, but I'm glad that Rose will be her guardian, which makes up for the loss. Dimitri being Christians guardian is even better. Both will be together at times and it means that Dimitri has been taken into the Moroi & Dhampir world as a dhampir again, not as a strigoi (with the help of the new queen of course).
I loved this book. It was amazing, but I thought that one bit in the book was dragging along, a bit. I can't remember which part it is b/c my mind has blocked it out and only has the super big parts in it right now.

But Rose won't be at the court - Lissa is going to college and Rose will have to go with her. - RubyGemJuly wrote:

It's confirmed that Sydney will be one of the main characters in Bloodlines, as well as Jill.
