House of Night by PC Cast and Kristin Cast

Uh...there's two topics about HON...sorry, my inner-other forum side is kicking in.

Please don't hurt me...I'm actually getting bored of HON...The first few books were really good and I was so ready to read the fifth book and then boom! I was bored. It just burned my eyes. I was skipping parts and for the first time, I couldn't read that book in one whole piece.

About that Zoey and the guys thing, I totally agree. It just makes me sick how the story seems to only reflect her guy problems. It's just...bad.

I loved the first couple of books.... but then when i read CHOSEN i started disliking Zoey.... I mean yea he was a hot Vampire guy, but she should have never cheated on Erik with Loren. The HoN series has too much teenage angst for me, VA has some but its more mature. And the only characters i like are Stark, Damien, Shaunee, and Erin. But Zoey and her man drama is a little bit extreme.

i liked the series and i want to read the next book but is it just me or do the books kinda repeat themselves? (something bad happens, zoey saves the day, zoey gets a new mark)

I liked books 1-3...maybe 4. But book 5 wasn't really growing on me.

I read the first five chapters and don't care about it. Zoey seems like a Mary Sue to me, and her snark isn't that funny.

Anyone have a link to the main House of Night website? I can't find it anymore after they re-vamped (no pun intended) the look.

omg, I love the house of night series its just one little problem though, I wish they were a bit more less dramatic with zoey and her many guy problems and more towards, well I don't know something else, just more to the story

either way, I like them and can't wait till tempted comes out next month

I don't know what the titles of the books are, but I ended up reading online all of the ones published, and I still think whats-her-face is a Mary Sue. Like woah-how-did-this-get-published Sue. Plus the only halfway interesting character is a completely cliched evil popular!girl. Which is completely pathetic, because the pop!girl's a COMPLETE cliche but yet the best charrie in the series. Anyway. End rant.

Is House Of Night Epic?

I do like the House of Night Series. I went on a binge reading spree over the summer and this was the third series i read( before vampire academy) and it was ranking high on my book list. I agree with some though about Zoe and being dramatic and such.. but hey this book is written by both P.C. Cast AND her daughter. It took me a while to get into the series. The first book being the hardest. But, i think slowly but surely the books are evolving. By the third book i was completely sucked in and dead to the world when reading. it's been a while since a book got my heart racing- i cried, i laughed , i was scared.. this series really got to my emotions. But, i think i was drawn ( don't worry no spoilers) to the Cherokee heritage and magical pagan aspects to these books and not so much the awkward love triangles.

It's worth the read though. If you can tough it through the first few segments of the book i think you wont regret it and will enjoy this series.

The books were ok, not really that big of deal to me, Im trying to reread again but not having much luck. It is not interesting to me to say the least.

I have this compulsion that when i start a series I have to follow it through to the end unless it's absolutely horrible beyond horrible. I thought the hon series was ok so far. I guess it depends how much the book is when it first comes out if it's ridiculous ill wait a few months.

I actually don't own this series. I got some online or borrowed them or read them at barnes and nobles. But that was over the summer when i had loads of free time. My midterms are in two weeks and i guess i'll assess my schedule see if i can spare a day to sit in the book store and read it or just buy it. I will read it eventually but it's not high on my list of things to read. Like when Spirit Bound comes up- i''m buying it first thing! lol

Did Zoey really had to make like a Hoe and get it on with a Teacher on exactly the 1st day she met him?At least Christian and Lissa took a month before they got it on with each other, and Rose and Dimitri took about a year, if i recalled, right!

I suspect that if H.O.N is more realistic than twilight[except for the idiocy in Zoey getting it on with the teacher on day 1!] that's not even worth saying drivel!What were Zoey's exact words when she asked the Teacher to have sex with her, again?

I'm still surprised that people still think V.A is overally worse than twilight, when V.A just has too many mental screw-ups instead of idiots for the main named cast!>_>

You know, I read the first chapter of HON and really tried to like it. I just couldn't. The whole time the girl was talking about that football player dude that gets drunk all the time, I couldn't find it in me to care.

And when I found out that there's a bj in there... I'm sorry, but bjs are not something that should be in a teen novel. That's my conservative opinion on the matter anyway. I would definitely NOT let my little sister read this. I'm fine with her reading VA, but this is sorta pushing it. Besides, I keep hearing that the main character in HON is incredibly slutty.

yeah and like meyer's books they try to justify it with a sort of imprinting bond. sorry but you can't justify pedifiles and whores by saying they cant help it.

I think VA is in between. H.O.N is way more graphic than VA is, but Twilight is barely graphic at all.
