| Wilda ..i think thats why i liked it soo much, i always felt the Cast write down to their teen readers and don't really capture the teen voice in a mature way... so the lack of all the teen characters it was just a fluid, beautiful story. I think they really need to evaluate their writing style or even genre, maybe writing adult books instead of YA should be their area cause this book was written really well. - Spoiler:
Rephaim! I feel so bad for him, Dragon wants him dead and he's sort of my fav character cause he is with Stevie Rae. I couldnt understand Dragon's anger in the last HON book, especially after Nyx appeared. But, reading this, I just feel so heart broken for him! I feel so conflicted now. I bawled like a baby the last couple of pages. Dragon is a fallen warrior now. I don't know which side to take.
Rhia- i highly recommend reading Dragon's Oath! I picked it up by mistake, i thought it was the next book in the HON of series, but it was my favorite of the entire series!

I know! Dragon and Anastasia quickly became my fav couple of the series and to see him fall and shatter Anastasia's heart. UGH! That was one of the most heartbreaking moments I've ever read What scares me the most is that it looks like that second drawing Anastasia did (the one where she saw him slaying his vampyre brothers) will come true. I don't want to see revenge and darkness take him over. he's so much better than that.

It's funny, i was so into the story i needed someone to talk to, so i turned to the hubby. And he's all for Dragon turning into this badass fallen warrior. He was like " yah that's awesome".. i was like NOOOOOOOO. Lmao.

There's an edge of irony in there, given what Jill and i noted on the main series, since the main series is canonically not Y.A literature, but rather an atrocious pile of badly-managed Adult Literature, really. Alot of people in gaia online also noted the case, as well.

| So, I was looking at Barnesandnoble.com and saw the the 2nd book in the HON novella is Lenobia's Vow and it comes out Jan. 31st, 2012. I'm really looking forward to Lenobia's story. She's my fav Professor | |

While i am not sure if this is enough to redeem the main storyline, is it enough to salvage as much of the cast as possible?

| Well Tony, like i said before, the Casts dont deliver the teen voice good but the general plot and world of the House of Night series is why i keep reading. Its a good premise. I can do without the love triangles and teen voice. It hampers the flow of the story. But since these short novels are from the perspective of the adults, we dont get the teen voice at all and the writing flows fluidly which is why i prefer them so much more and like them so much more. We get the world, the premise, without the horribly delivered teen voice. | |

| I'm more interested in Lenobia then Dragon. Personally, although Dragon is pretty kick-ass, I don't really care about his back story. | |

| Rhia, the thing about Dragon's story is that you understand him better and why he's so angry. Behold, the Destined Cover. It's Aurox. And if you don't know who he is, he comes in at the end of Awakend and thats all I can say without spoiling it. | |

Oh! So that's Heaths new body! Cool. But I think Aurox would look better if he didn't have the bangs, cause they looking kind of bakana

| I finally got the book from the library and it was a quick read. It didn't suck like the last few. Although I have to say that I'm irritated by Erik's continued character assassination, deux ex machina plot points (i.e. Queens, Guardians, bulls, and newly red Marked fledglings to name a few). I'm also irritated that there's been no funeral for Heath that we've been privy to and no mention of how his body made it back to his family and how they are dealing w/ a supernatural death of their only child. I'm also irritated that while children can see through Neferet, centuries' old vampyre council cannot.
That said, I like how Aurox/Heath is dealing with himself. Aurox, a perfect Vessel, would have no introspection. The Heath component makes him interesting. I wonder if Heath will come through Aurox or if Heath will always look like Aurox. And as for Kalona's redemption....is that what it was? Nyx forgives him and allows him as Sword Master but not her Warrior? Or is that not what happens? What made Rephaim live if not Nyx?

| Has anyone been keeping up with this series? The last one I read was either Dragon's Oath or Awakened. Whichever one came out last. I haven't read Destined, Lenobia's Vow, nor Neferet's Curse. Hidden comes out next week. I'm planning on catching up soon but I wanted to get opinions on those latest books. | |

| I read the last book that was released , what was it destined? I didn't read the two new novellas. I read Dragon's oath and i LOVED it. I wanted to read the novellas more than the series but books isn't in our budget and hasn't been for a while I most likely will continue reading the series though it's only mild curiosity that keeps me reading. Just want to know how it ends ya know? | |

| Yes i do have a local library. Haven't had a library card since i was kid though lol. But, i checked it out a couple of times and it's really sucky. I guess i should be happy we have one at all but it really lacks options and its sooo timed delayed. But, i haven't checked it out in MONTHS so i'll probably stop by again and see if things improved. | |

| Anyone know when P.C. stopped writing and Kristin took over? The first few books in the series were great but then it went rudderless. The ending was too conveniently wrapped up with everyone paired off. The whole series took place in a year. So think about how many people paired up, died, moved on, paired up again, etc.

| I have no idea. The last book I read was....Awakened. it's been so long that I had to check goodreads. I want to know how it ended but I honestly don't really want to read all of the books :/ | |

| Well I've read them all. And forgotten most of it. I had hoped Heath would find a way back but alas no. He stayed the tool he was always meant to be. | |
