| I recently visited this webby http://www.premiumhollywood.com/tag/vampire-academy/It is on top 10 Vampire Films That Should Be Made In The Wake Of The Success of “Twilight”. And our very own VA series has made it to 2nd! Congrats! It was being outdone by Angel however. But Angel had made TV series.. so let's hope that some production company may look into this and turn VA into a fabulous movie. PS:I would prefer VA movie becos it will attract more people to go and watch. Therefore, more people will tend to read the books. It's one way to get the books to become popular | |

| I would totally love to see these books made as movies. Personaly whenever I am reading a vampire book I picture it as a movie. Its just so much easier for me to remember thr story that way. But it would be awesome if VA was a movie. | |

| I can't say I loved VA more than Twilight...sorry, Twilight will always come first in my heart...VA is a very very close 2nd. The fourth book, at least from what I saw on Richelle Mead's website is August this year. Only a few more agonizing months! A VA movie? Yeah, I can see it. Why not? Producers/directors would have to embark on a mission to find several gorgeous guys to play the roles of Christian and Dimitri (and others from the next books, but I don't want to risk spoiling so I won't mention them here). The only thing that I would worry about is that if they were to do them now hot on the heels of Twilight, then people would maybe think of this series of movies as "Twilight knock-off". I know that's not the case, the stories are totally different. But others who are not familiar with the books, may think that. | |

| Personally, I don't really want to see this series get made into a movie. They'll ruin it just like they ruined Twilight, and just like they're going to ruin Vampire Diaries. | |

| Twilight suffered from bad budget and bad directing. Hopefully the next two flicks, having improved on both of those, will be better. Hopefully the script writer doesn't hack the story up like she did Twilight too....
But this series has so much more action, it should be awesome on the big screen....think about the last 2 battles in Shadow Kiss alone....

I agree with you about Twilight being the victim of bad budget. I am on the fence about the directing. I think some was bad, but some was OK. (Does that make sense?) I read an interview with Robert Pattinson and he said that for New Moon the director (Weitz) is changing the reunion. I don't know how I feel about that. Do you think if they did a VA series of movies, that they would have to add on from Blood Promise to Shadow Kiss just to give it closure? Or would they leave Shadow Kiss' ending as is and have people groaning and going, "AARGH!" as they leave the theatre?

| Definitely groaning.
As for Twilight. All those facial expressions that had everyone laughing is a directorial error. Billy Black's glare, Edward's reaction to Bella's scent, etc.

| You know if you leave people hanging at the end of a film like we were left hanging at the end of a book, they'll be none too happy!
One thing my mother couldn't stand in Twilight was Bella's constant blinking/eye fluttering. She thought there was something wrong with Bella! LOL!

| Some of the best movies end with the hero taken off to his death. Empire Strikes Back, arguably the darkest and best of the saga, had Han Solo taken off to Jabba the Hutt by Boba Fett. Not to mention Darth Vader's contention of having fathered Luke Skywalker. For years people were left hanging, waiting, for an answer to Han's future and Vader's sincerity. | |

Oh man! Years??? I already have a problem waiting a few more months for "Blood Promise"! I can't imagine a year! Well, OK...I can, after all, I was hooked on Harry Potter and had to wait however long after the 4th book (and subsequent books). I seem to remember that there was easily a year or even more between books. The bonus with a movie like VA and Twilight is that since the characters can't age from film to film (or not much anyway), we get movies faster!

In theory I suppose that is what should happen, but with the harry potter movies they were only supposed to age a year inbetween each one but in the third one when they were supposed to be thirteen, they looked like they were 17.... ...Not to be a negative nancy or anything.

| Really? I didn't think they looked quite that old. I thought I saw a fairly natural progression of age thus far. *shurg* Everyone's perceptions are different.
But when you have a book series like VA where here we sit at book 3 and not even a whole school year has passed, if they were to turn it into a movie series, they'd have to do them all at once, OR (and this isn't really a great option) condense the books into one movie. We don't have an emote for ducking tomatoes, but I'm already ducking!

| I think It would be best to just do them individually, I mean thats what the did with LOTR and that came out awesomeee! Anyways and I mean other movies have cliff hangers too, its just a natural entertainment sort of thing, you want people to want to come back for the next one and figure out what happens...or maybe even read the book. | |

| I would love to Va be on the big screen it would help ease my impatience between books. The only way i would want that to happen is if the movies were done in a lord of the rings style. Stay true to the story, don't cut out any parts, awesome directing and no small budget. My theory is that if you are going to turn a book that already has fan base into a movie then you have to stay true to the story with no short cuts in order to stay true to the fans. New fans will appreciate it that much more.
Personally I'd rather sit through a three hour movie that is done to perfection, rather than an hour and half of crap, like they are doing to twilight and so many others.

| ^I hope that the up-coming 'The Lightning Thief' movie ends up being done right, like the 1st 3 Potter-World movies and The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Jill, because after that, i want to see if The later Percy Jackson And The Olympians movies could surpass both of them, outrightly. Now, as for the likes of Ralph and Jesse...when do we get to have a sign that they're meant to follow the basic troupe of Crouching Moron, Hidden Bad-Ass? | |

I can agree on 6, to some extent, but 5...not so much, Jill. I'm still waiting on Ralph and Jesse to be Crouching Morons, Hidden Bad-Asses, already.

| hahaha. The thing that i was most disappointed about with the 5th movie was that in the book the weasly brothers were the most entertaining. They had great roles in that book and i was looking forward to seeing that in the movie, through out the movie they were pretty over looked and thus the movie didn't have the same comic relief the book did. | |
