Sorry things have been stressful for you Tasha. Hope everything is better now and that you've gotten some much needed rest!

My in-laws decided to make a surprise appearance over the weekend. I got the call from my hubby Friday night while he was working that they were on their way. It was a nice visit, I'm glad they came. I just don't like surprise visits. I liek taking my time preparing for the arrival and not rushing to get everything done and all. Luckily they came when I was off work. Sadly, my hubby was only able to take 1 day off to spend with them : / But at least he got a day with them. it's better than none.

I'm pissed off with the schedulers and managers at work. I requested Wed May 16th off work bc my daughter has a school performance that night. Well, they randomly gave me Wednesday, May 9th off, but denied my request and are making me work the 16th. So yeah, I'm pissed. They could have let me work this Wednesday and let me have next Wednesday off. But nooooo they have to be asshats over it

Hey ladies! How is everyone? What have you all been up too? I hope everything and everyone is well!

Hey Tasha. I'm good. Being lazy for the rest of today. I went to see my new boss today to find out when I actually start working: Monday. I'm really looking forward to it...mostly because it means I'll be earning money soon Unfortunately I have to stop working after 2 weeks for a week and a bit because I'm getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and will have to spend a week recovering. It sucks. But I just ordered the first 6 seasons of Grey's Anatomy on DVD as my recovery entertainment, so I guess something good comes from everything...provided they arrive in time. They should, but so far they haven't shipped yet and since I ordered them on Friday night, I feel like it should have done something by now.

Kim-I found somone to switch days with so i was off on Wednesday. My daughter's performance was cute, she did a great job Good luck on your first day of work. Sorry you're gonna have to miss a week already, but getting your wisdom teeth out is very painful. I had mine taken out when I was 17 : / My best friend is getting ready to get hers taken out on the 31st as well. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Now I've got to find someone to switch 2 days in June with. Wednesday June 13th for the Jennifer Armentrout book signing. I just read her book Obsidian and it was FANTASTIC! Read it twice in 4 days! And Thursday, June 14th for the Richelle Mead book signing. its 4 hours away, but SO worth it!. The Jennifer one is only 45 minutes away. I'm super excited for both of the signings. I know I can find someone to switch Wednesday with, but Thursday will be a little harder and thats the one I want off the most!

Kim. Congrats on the job. Awe sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth. The painkillers you get so make you very happy though. I hope your movies come in time and hope the recovery is swift and easy.

Wilda- so glad you were able to get off to see your daughter's performance! I hope you find someone to switch days with and get off for the book signings. RM came close to where i live once but i didn't have anyone willing to go with me. I mean, if i really made a fuss my hubby would of went with me and it was before he was sick and stuff but i don't like to and it wont really be fun going with someone who really doesnt want to be there. And its not that i don't want to ago alone, it's just something i wanted to experience with a friend you know, i'll be like a little kid in a candy so excited and it'll be better to have another book geek with me. Anyways. Glad your new job is working out well for you. I hope things keep getting better for ya!

Libby, sorry your swamped with work. I hope your able to tackle it and get it done without too much hassle.

I've been busy with house stuff. There is always something wrong with this old house. Did i tell you guys about the raccoons? We found holes in the roof and it turned out a family of racoons were living in there? Well we also found out a squirrel got stuck in the roof after we evicted the raccoons and sealed up the holes and it made an appearance several days later. My grandfather ended up being the one the catch it ( he killed it which was very sad but he's 92 years old so we didnt make a fuss over it). And i've just been tending house. Chores. Cleaning. My mother actually has been making me prepare dinner every weekday so she doesnt have too. But it's so time consuming. The other day she wanted me to fry chicken. But she forgot to buy cooking oil so i was working with one pan of cooking oil and a whole family pack size of chicken. I was frying chicken almost four hours. Oh and my doggie is doing okay. She's not fixed though and I think she's getting ready to go into heat because she's acting up. Oh and it thunderstorm-ed 3 times last week, and a lightening storm once. and for some reason we have been having heavy airplane traffic and the planes have been making alot of noise and so naturally my dog thinks it's thunder. So i didn't sleep much ( not at all some night) this week because I was laying on the floor with my dog who was cowering and shaking in a corner. She would calm down after awhile and put her head by my head but when i start to fall alseep she would head butt me to wake me up. I guess she wanted to sleep but only if i was up protecting her. lol.
Other wise, just trying to keep my mind busy. So stressed and worry over the hubby and his health insurance. He's current insurance ends the 31st and even though we went to the the offices and re-applied and did all the paperwork they told us to do, they said their decision takes 45 days. But they notified us with only 30 days notice. So he's going to be health insurance-less for atleast 15 days. We could put off doctors for awhile cause he just had his rounds with doctors and testings and stuff. So that's not an issue. But he can't not take his medication. IF we had to pay out of pocket for his medicine it would be almost 200 dollars and that's if they still give us a discount. ( it's a private owned pharmacy so they don't charge full price for stuff when you dont have insurance)

Oh i stopped reading for awhile. But to my surprise i re-read the twilight series. Don't know why. BUt i did. Now i'm re-reading the true blood series. The hubby ( to my protests cause he paid almost full price for the book) bought the new release for me. So i'm up to book 9 now. The new one is the 12th book.

Anywho. about the grander scheme of things. I'm thinking of just taking out student loans and going for a bachelors degree OR going to a year program for a certification like medical billing and coding just so I can apply to a job and actually work. Not something I'm passionate about but i heard it's good steady work and easily transferable to other locations ( in case I move) and it's always easy to find a job in that field. So i'm considering it. I just want to work and earn my own income. I"m tired of being broke and worrying about stuff so mundane as money. Plus, i just want better for myself you know. So I"m trying to work through this school/work woes.

Okay, i think that's everything with me. I'm sorry I dont post often and take awhile to respond. I pop on everyday to check to see what every one posted even if i dont respond right away. I hope everyone is doing okay! Miss you all!

Hey guys...sorry, haven't been around much. Just a quick check in.

Internship has almost merged into a job. One of the girls in my office handed in her resignation last week and they offerred me a trial couple of weeks doing her work to see if I can handle it. So far so good, even though I've only been doing it for 2 days.

Getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. Gotta be at the hospital at 7am and even though I've been told it's a morning surgery, I'm 4th on the list tomorrow, so it looks like I'll have a bit of waiting to do.

Surgery went well. I'm not in any pain, but my face is still pretty swollen and it's awkward to eat and drink. Can't wait to get back to normal (mostly) because I keep craving crunchy foods (like potato chips etc.) and I can't eat any of it because I'm not ready to chew things yet *sigh*

Kim! Oh ihope the internship-turned- job thing becomes permanent. Best of luck with that! So happy the surgery went well! I hope the recovery goes fast and you'll be ably to eat crunchy goodness in no time. It's it frustrating how we normally don't eat something that often but the second the option is taken away we are dying for it. Like i don't eat much junk food. But, when I'm on a diet i would kill for some but ordinarily i wouldn't even be eating it.

I'm doing alright. Sorry I've been MIA too. Been really stressed out and sad. And we've been having more problems with the house ( leaks and stuff that needing repairing). Also we've been having thunderstorms like every other day so I've been pretty stuck trying to try different ways to help my dog. I even got her some medicines but it don't work MUCH but atleast it helps a tad bit where I'm not scared she is going to have a heart attack anymore. Been spending alot of time on the phone and going to appointments and offices. So, we got effed out of insurance. It was long ordeal and basically we went down to our local office and they told us to do one thing, and we were supposed to do another. So spent last week trying to fix their mistake. But in the end, the hubby doesnt have insurance right now. So we're trying to figure out how to pay for his medications ( at the end of june he would need refills) and the he would need to go to a doctor to get prescriptions and i have to cancel all his testings cause we just cant afford it ( mri costs 5,000 dollars). We were told in 45 days we will get a decision if they reinstate his insurance or not. But until then he definitely doesn't have insurance for 45 days.

My birthday is in a couple of days ( June 5th) and I'm just not on a celebratory mood. But I am annoyed no one remembers. My dad is leaving the 4th to go visit family in North Carolina ( well tomorrow the 3rd is he going over to my aunts to spend the night so they can leave early in the morning) so he wont even be here. Considering my last two birthdays he was in the hospital almost dying I would of atleast expected him to give me a card or something before he leaves. My brother usually gives me awesome presents( he gives me his credit card to order books lol) but he doesn't even remember. My mother doesn't remember either. My hubby was trying to plan a party for me with some friends but then my friend said he had to pay rent he doesn't have money to go out tonight.... but then i saw him post on facebook that he went out last night. So that annoyed me. I don't really expect to get anything just a kind word and a visit atleast you know. I always go out of my way to make everyone feel special on their birthday. And the only one who is trying to is my hubby. That's more than enough for me but still it hurts a little to be reminded the people you care for don't feel the same way.


I miss you all though! I hope see you all posting more. The Golden Lilly comes out soon! I don't have plans to buy it though considering i need to budget but I'll definitely get it as soon as i can.

Tasha: Recovery is going alright. I was doing better the first couple of days, but I started to get a little sick from all the drugs I've been taking, so today was a bit of an off day. Feeling alright at the moment though, hopefully that continues.

Oh god, I'm so sorry you're having insurance issues. I hope everything works out for you. I can't imagine how hard that would be to deal with. We're here if you need to talk.

I hope the day turns out to be alright, or at least not too stressful and that you get to do something special, because everyone should feel special on their birthday. Don't have classes until mid July.
Six weeks to chill out and read and watch tv & movies and do a bit of travelling.
I should probably work on my thesis too.

Thank you Libby! Hope you get to enjoy the break from school! And the hubby has been having health issues. Random spasms with his nerves and muscles. But otherwise he has been doing okay.

My day has been good so far. Slept in a bit. The hubby walked Bianca for me so i didnt have to get out of bed. Had coffee in bed. Then lurked around facebook for awhile. Then had a late breakfast. Now I'm in bed again doing absolutely nothing it is amazing... though my dog is restless tired of being in the room lol. And it's all chilly today , my favorite weather. So far so good.

So...bad news. The job fell through the girl who resigned got a call from her new job last night and said they actually don't have a position for her anymore. So she called the publishing boss and asked to be reinstated there and they said yes because she's who they're used to. But I'm staying on as an intern still. Pretty deflated right now, but they're going put feelers out again and I'm going to keep learning. At least I haven't given up my other job yet. Working in a lolly shop might come in handy now.

So sorry to hear that Kim. But, at least you have the financial stability from the shop. And most important I'm sure you learned stuff while working which can help in the future and also your still an intern there so you still are getting the experience. So it can't hurt you to your goal. Hopefully after you intern for awhile they pull you onto the staff. I have my fingers crossed for that!

I feel like they're going to try extra hard to find me a job somewhere now that this has happened, so my fingers are crossed too

Libby-I'm great actually. I've been busy with work and trying to keep up with my kids and the house work so I haven't had a lot of time to do much of anything. How are you?

I'm SO excited for tomorrow. I'm going to the Jennifer L. Arementrout Daemon Invasion event where I'll get to meet jennifer and the two incredibly hot cover models for her Lux series. I'll be going straight from work so hopefully I won't be too sweaty and gross. Bad news is I won't get to go to the Richelle Mead signing I hate it and I'll probably be miserable while at work, but I couldn't get the day off and its 4 hours away. Maybe I'll get to go to the next one.

Hey guys, bad news in my family again. My grandmother (mum's mum) passed away this morning. She had a stroke while my aunty was visiting her and yeah. Back to be sad and emotionally drained for a while.

Thanks Tasha. We're all just sort of flat and letting it settle in still. We don't really know what to do because no funeral plans have been confirmed and the family is all over the place. With Pop, he had everything for his funeral planned years ago, and all the immediate family was ALWAYS nearby. My grandmother lived at the snow with my aunty, 6 hours away, so Mum's feeling a bit lost being so far away. The reason funeral plans having been confirmed is because the stupid fucking doctor couldn't be bothered to go around to the nursing home at a decent hour to official sign all the death notices. She passed away at 11:30am and by at least 7pm last night the doctor still hadn't arrived. It's 7am now and we haven't heard any more from my aunty.
