What's everyone up to?

We're doing alright. Went down to the snow over the weekend (because that's where the funeral was being held). Funeral was yesterday, so it was a very emotional day, but we've got closure now. Back home settling into it all. It's been a tough year. Thanks for checking up on us Tasha *hugs*

Kim- I'm sorry you've had to deal with losing so many people this year. Know the feeling my grandma and uncle died like 3 days apart.

Still haven't finished TGL. I've never taken this long with a RM book. Guess I've been really busy lately.
Needed a holiday to recover from my overseas trip.

Just saw the Indigo spell cover. Don't like it that much. All the VA books and bloodlines looked perfected.
TIS and TGL don't look perfected.

I don't know if I could handle 3 days...10 weeks was bad enough.

I like the colour for The Indigo Spell, but it looks really busy having 3 close-up shots of characters. I'm sure we'll get used to it though.

OMG Kim, I am SO sorry to hear about your grandmother! I can't believe that doctor waited so long to sign everything. Having to plan a funeral is torture enough as it is. I'm glad you all got some closure though. I hope you and your family have a better last half of the year than the first one. *HUGS*

Everything is crazy on my part. So much drama and problems. Just trying to pay no mind to it all and stay positive and happy. I'm going to a party tomorrow. So i'm excited. I get to see some old friends and free drinks and food lol. And its close to my house so i dont have to travel.

It's back to work next week. I can't believe how quickly the last 5 weeks have gone by.

Sorry you've got drama going on Tasha, but like Libby, I like your positive attitude The kids are actually driving me a bit insane right now. My son is in a stage where he just does not want to listen and my daughter loves to do everything she can to get him in trouble and they fight constantly. Idk what I'm going to do with them. Work is ok. Not much to report on that end : /

Awe i think all kids go through that stage. I remember my brother and I fought constantlyyyy. I don't think there is much you can do to stop the sibling rivalry. i think its a genetic right of passage lol. I would say( i'm not a parent so i dont know how this stuff works) find a way to talk to them and to get them to stop fighting fighting. bickering yes. they dont have to particularly like each other. but they dont have to fight lol. YOur and awesome parent so I'm sure thing will be fine. Best of luck.

SO yesterday I went to this birthday party. Originally i only said I would go out of guilt. No one was responding toher birthday event. So i said I would go. And then i hassled some friends ( also invited, we all went to elementary school together) cause i didn't want to get stuck at the party with her friends and boyfriend ( whom i do not like). I'm so glad i did. We were the only ones to show up. There was two other chicks that showed up. But it was just me, my 3 friends and my hubby came along. I had fun but the birthday girl ...she just has issues. That;s why we don't really hang out with her. She has no self esteem. And it's tiring ( especially after all these years) to sit there and listen to herself just crap on herself the whole time and then sit there and try to give her a confidence boost. She was even doing it yesterday. But, since i haven't seen two of my friends in a LONG time we had tons of fun. We almost forgot it was a birthday party lol.

BUt then Omar and I came home and these people almost burned the house down in our absences. It was such a buzz kill. Apparently someone put the tea pot on the stove. And a flame must of flickered to the dish rack where there was paper towels and it all caught fire. There was an outlet right there too so it's all warped and melted I think that's what added to the fire. My mother was coming upstairs from the basement and heard Bianca growling and running back and forth going nuts. Then she saw the smoke so hurried up the stairs. She was able to out it with water. My dad was sitting in the next room and didn't see nor smell burnt plastic or smoke. I was so mad to hear this! Omar is furious. Jokingly we said we are going to buy Bianca a fire fighter outfit and before we go outside dress Bianca in it and put her down and just look at everyone and walk away. Lol Bianca was a little hero yesterday. Today she is just all over Omar. She doesnt want to leave the room. I think she is traumatized a little bit. Poor doggie.

Tasha: Omg, I can't imagine how scared Bianca must have been. Animals always sense things more strongly than us. I'm glad she helped sound the alarm, she truly is a wonder dog!

I might have more time for reading again too. My work is bankrupt, they went into voluntary administration on Tuesday. We've been told we won't really know much about our jobs for 2-3 weeks, but it's not looking too good. Sales have gone WAY up this week, but it's always too little too late. I panicked all of yesterday because it was pay-day and no wages went into my account. But it's all good, got paid this morning. Still...I'm worried.

Libby- I'm doing alright. Been really busy exercising. Starting this health thing..., diet, work out, no drinking alcohol and I'm trying to quit smoking too. Glad you have extra reading time! I've been thinking of looking into audio books. Since i can't work out and read a book... I could get so much reading done if I listened it to.

Kim- So sorry to hear about your job. But at least you got paid! Hopefully it was just a close call and the business stays afloat. Good luck!

I've been staying busy with this health kick. I'm going to the park every morning and they have trails though the woods. The first day I went at night with my cousin ( she started going like two weeks ago) and I almost died , i couldn't breath. But i stuck with it and didn't quit. Today is only the 4th day ( i started on Monday). But, i have been going back every morning. But it think i over did it yesterday. I went to the park twice ( one in the morning and then again at night) I spent roughly 6 hours working out and that's not counting everyday activity( errands, walking around the avenue, walking Bianca ). I felt fine when i went to sleep...just my knee was a little sore when doing stairs or getting up. But i woke up and my knee is just wrecked, so much worse. I don't know what i did to it. Or if it was too much too soon. it just hurts. Trying to take it easy and stretch alot and see if i'll feel better by night time so i can work out at the park. If not, I'll just use the exercise bike my hubby bought me two christmas' ago. It's a low stress bike so isn't supposed to put pressure on the joints and stuff. So that should be a light work out and not hurt my knee. But, it's only been a couple of days but i love going to the park. The quiet. The alone time. The peacefulness. It looks pretty and feels great. I miss it already. And to be honest with you for the 3 days I've been doing the trail I've felt fine. But last night i did the track. and thats when my knee was hurting. I think they synthetic ground or something enhances impact. I'm just going to stick to the natural routes from now on.

Kim - I heard about Darrell on tv. Same thing happened to a major book retailer in nz early last year. they're still around. went to one of their shops yesterday. fingers crossed everything works out for you.

Tasha- I agree, it does sound like the ground that caused your knee to hurt. I would stick to the trails and take it easy until it stops hurting.

Kim- I'm so sorry to hear about work. I hope very thing works out for you.

Libby- ok, I'll spill my news

Ladies, I'm pregnant! I found out on July 4th. I've been dying to tell you guys since but I've had some issues that needed to be taken care of first. I honestly bought I was going to have a miscarriage. See, I had a form of birth control that is called an IUD. And it's very dangerous to have when pregnant. I ended up going to the hospital on Thursday and found out that it was in my uterus but the baby was fine. If I were to leave it in it could have caused my uterus to rupture and that would have been deathly for the both of us. Friday I went to an on-gyn and ha it removed. The dr said there is a small risk of miscarriage with having it taken out but because the iud was real low and the baby is high up that he doesn't think there will be any problems. Monday I will be calling around I find a dr. I don't have any insurance and that place wanted all of the money by my 24th week which is impossible. It sucks bc I really liked the place. But as of righ now the spotting has completely stopped and I feel great other than being nauseous and tired.

According to the ultrasound my estimated due date is March 6, 2013 I'm only 6 weeks and some days. Normally I would have waited until 13 weeks to announce it but I couldn't wait that long to tell you ladies. Not many people know and I won't be announcing it on Facebook until the end of August so for those on my Facebook, please don't say anything until its been announced.

So yeah, that's my big news

Oh Wilda! Congrats! IT sounds so scary what you went through. I wish we were neighbors so I could of helped! I'm excited for you to go through this pregnancy and witness it cyber-ly. HUGS.

OMG! Wilda, that's fantastic! Congratulations. I'm glad that the IUD removal went alright and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you and the baby stay healthy. Keep us updated.

Going to the football tonight. Haven't been to a live game in ages. We couldn't get out regular tickets but got pretty sweet replacements. Looking forward to the game so much

So, I've been faithfully on my health thing for a week. And i got on the scale and it said i lost 5 pounds. Might be more i think cause i didnt weigh myself before i started. So my weight is a guess from the last time i weighed myself about two weeks before i started this health thing. And yesterday, I went to the park and i power walked to the end of the trail and i wasn't feeling the work out like i usually do. So my hubby( who came with me for the first time) told me to try jogging. So i did. I was able to do it! I was SOOO excited. I was smiling from ear to ear. I felt like a little kid I was so happy. I couldn't jog straight through but i was able to do sprints of jogging. I was just so excited " I"m going to jog to the next pole!" ..." I'm going to jog to that bush!" ...lol. On the way home i was just like " I'm going to jog to the corner!" ... Just cause I could. I have a goal now. I want to be able to jog steadily and then I want to be able to jog on the beach. You know how tough walking in the sand is, i want to be able to jog on it. That's my goal.

That is so awesome Tasha! I love how excited you are, if I wasn't pregnant you would have motivated me to do the same thing
