| So the second set were treated a lot better then? I talked to BD about 'Some Girls Bite' last night and this morning they said it was being sent again for me. I really hope it gets here before Christmas. | |

| Tasha - being in a dentists chair\operating table without being awake and unable to communicate is like my worst nightmare. I'm really sorry about what happened. Hope your hubby is doing better now. I thought there were supposed to hand signals for that sort of situation.
Kim- a signing and a ball. Sounds awesome. Did you go the RM thing in Syd back in 09?
I'm waiting on books from the book depo again. Hopefully this shipment will come by Christmas. Its for the research project I'm doing over summer. Been pretty busy with that the last few days.

| Libby: Yeah I did see RM then...that was probably organised a bit better than this one, but we got to spend more time talking to Becca than with Richelle. Becca was standing around chatting with fans for the first 1.5 hours and then she did a little Q&A session and then signed all our books. She talked to my friends and I for about 10 minutes while all these other fans stood around waiting to talk to her, it was really nice. The best part of the evening was the fallen angels though. They had 1/2 naked men wearing low-cut jeans and black angel wings as waiters. OH MY GOD! Such fabulous eye candy. Got photos with 3 of the guys (because the other 2 actually weren't that impressive). The tallest guy was the hottest and when we went back to look at the photos I was reminded of how short I am...wearing heals and I still didn't make it to the guy's shoulders. Oh well.
I hope you books get to you quickly Libby.

| Half naked hot Fallen Angels...Mmmmm. Glad you had a great time Kim and that you actually got to talk to Becca for a little bit Oh and yes, the replacement books were treated much more nicely than the original package. Idk why people treat packages the way they do. You never know if something is breakable even if it doesn't state it on the box. Hope you get your books in quickly Libby. What kind of project are you working on? | |

| Thanks for all the support and kind words. It really does help and mean alot to me <3 Kim, I'm glad you had a good time at sisters and at the signing/ball. Hot fallen angels Hope everyone is getting their deliveries in a faster orderly fashion. I know i had my troubles. Haven't ordered much lately but I was outside walking Bianca last week and the UPS truck pulled up and they were in such a rush to get ALL the packages to the door at once , inside of making two trips, they ended up dropping EVERYTHING. From across the street i could clearly see the "fragile" sign and it was the box that dropped the hardest. The delivery guy simply rang the door bell and left without even a word of dropping the stuff. What's the point in offering fragile notification if it isn't even treated with care. Things with me and the hubby? Not good. He's been having panic/anxiety attacks. THey are worse if he tries to go outside. He almost passed out yesterday when we made a trip to the supermarket to buy some things to make dinner. and when he actually sleeps ( he is scared and doesnt want to sleep) he has nightmares. Not to mention the underlying condition we went to the dentist for( pain) is still there. It's even worse after the surgery. I dont even know how to get the hubby to set foot into a dentist office again. I think i persuaded him if by Monday he isn't better to go to a regular dentist ( not the surgeon ) to atleast get checked out and make sure everything is okay. I'm not a doctor but i think he has ptsd or something. I actually had to called the dental surgeon office ( it took two days to actually get through) cause i realized they never gave us the talk after his surgery. Of what to expect. How to care for his teeth. Complications. Etc etc. THe hubby had stitches in his mouth and we didnt even know if he was supposed to go get them removed. When i actually got through they rushed me off the phone. We filled out an application for a lawyers program. It's kind of like health insurance. We pay a monthly fee ( 20 bucks, we both would be covered actually) and once we get our membership card we have lawyers at our disposal. We just call up the agency and within an half hour they call you back and walk you through a consultation with them and if you have a case or what not they walk you through the process and do alot of the stuff for you ( paperwork, gathering paperwork, consulting different parties),We decided to give it a go, because if he has a case, the lawyers court fees would be cut in half. And also with the program we get other amenities for free like filling out a will which the hubby needs to do. He had his oncologist appointment today. As you guys know he's been on a two month break. But, after explaining ( and her witnessing cause the hubby was clearly not his normal self, he actually had a panic attack while getting an MRI, but my poor baby held it in and didnt ask for help or anything. He said he felt trapped and was just freaking out but wanted it to be over with and if he called out for the nurse they would of stopped it and not continued. I told him they could of gave him medication so he didnt have suffer in panic for 45 mins. ) about his anxiety and everything with the dental she was kind of in shock herself. So she decided to prescribe him meds to try to help through this situation. She also needs to figure out a treatment plan for him. We go back in three weeks to see if the hubby's condition ( from the dentist not the cancer) has improved. Also, she said she needed to work out some insurance stuff. SHe thinks she wants the hubby to do a different chemo treatment and go for another MRI ( he just had one done today) but she wants a different type of MRI to check on the cavity where the tumor was and the scar tissue and stuff to make sure its just that, and not cancer growing. So we're still in limbo with the chemo stuff. But she prescribed ambien to help the hubby sleep and some other meds to help with nightmares. But she said she doesnt know what to prescribe for anxiety just yet cause she scared to prescribe the usual stuff cause those meds are know to induce seizures, violent seizures so it would be very dangerous for a cancer patient/ seizure condition to take them. But, she's hopeful with time and atleast a good night's sleep without nightmares can help him recover and cope better. BUt the hubby is scared to take the meds cause some of the side affects are ridiculous. One being suicidal tendencies. He said the way he is feeling. weak psyche and all, he doesnt want to go through that too. Anyways, i wrote a novel. Sorry i havent been on much. i check everyday. I just have been having a hard time coping with everything. I NEED to find a way to deal with my stress. | |

| Oh Tasha HUGSSSSSS! I wish i could give you a big hug in person instead *sigh* I hate that your hubby is going through all that. It does sound like PSTD. I hope with the new meds that he starts to get better so he can get through it. Don't worry about not posting much. We all understand hun. You worry about taking care of you and the hubby. Have you tried maybe taking up running or kickboxiung or something like that? I hear it's loads of help. When we had a punching bag, I used to go out and punch on it when I was upset, angry, or extremely stressed and it did help relieve that tension some. | |

| Tasha: I'm so sorry your hubby is still being affected by this, I can't imagine what you're going through. On top of the chemo decisions it's just horrible *hugs* Like Wilda said, don't worry about not posting much, we're all here for you if you need us and we understand if you don't want to/can't talk. You've got more important things to deal with than keeping up with us. | |

| I think what he is experiencing is most likely acute stress disorder. He would not be diagnosed with PTSD unless he is still experiencing these symptoms for more than four weeks (I really hope he doesn't). Either way, I think it might be beneficial for him to seek counseling to deal with the stress. I'm so sorry you guys are going through such horrible things like this. And I agree with Wilda. It might help you to do something that requires all your focus to de-stress. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts. *hugs* | |

| Thanks so much loves. HUGS. I appreciate it alot. The hubby was scared to start his new meds last night..because we of the side affects. But after a night of nightmares and anxiety he is ready to give it a try tonight. So i'll probably be wide awake watching him sleep tonight. Lol. I'm loading up on coffee. I had to take my dad to get some blood work done. Things with my dad have been difficult. He's just mentally not better. Physically he is fine. But after the stroke, he's head just isn't right. The doctors aren't worried about it. They said he needs to learn to adapt to his health and mental changes, he will never be "normal" like before he got sick. It's tiring though. Last night my dad flipped out over tea. My mother just came home from work and she didn't put the tea pot on and he spazzed. He's been having more and more of these irrational outbursts. And everyone in the house has given up with the interaction approach to try to help him. WE kind of let him explode and then go about our business. I mean, with everything with the hubby, it's just ridiculous to me. I know my dad's mental health is an illness caused by a stroke. But still, i just don't have the patience for it anymore especially when I care take for Omar who legitimately is ill. I know it may seem cold hearted. But, my dad doesnt want to go to a shrink or neurologist and i'm not feeding into his tantrums.
Ash- thanks, i'll research acute stress disorder. I keep telling the hubby i want him to see a professional. Google is amazing but it's not a medical professional. We can self diagnosis all we want, it's not the same as treatment from a professional. And while his oncologist is awesome and is knowledgeable about anxiety stuff ( it comes with the field and she does work with it from time to time) she isn't a specialist in psychiatry. I think counseling will go a long way with him. He wasn't trusting before all this and now after the incident at the dentist he just does not want to open up at all to another medical professional. It's been exactly one week since the dentist. Hopefully with the new meds he'll settle down some.

| Ok, so we RARELY get deliveries on the weekends, it's just not part of the Aussie post system. I'm standing in the kitchen eating breakfast when the door bell rings, my mum, sister and I think it's dad, because it sounded like the way he rings the doorbell. Nope, it was a delivery guy. 3 packages, 2 for me, one for mum. The Pledge finally arrived *dances* and for renewing my car insurance membership I got automatically entered into this competition and won an ipod docking station. My mum and sister were angry/jealous because apparently I'm always winning things.
Cool morning so far. Off to sand and lacquer my books shelves now. have a great day everyone

Kim, YAY for The Pledge finally arriving and congrats on winning the ipod thing!

| Voted...twice She's winning so far, but I worry because she'll probably be going up against Tessa next round and we all know Cassie Clare's fans go wild with voting. I finished my shelves! All my books are up and there's a decent amount of space, so I won't be stacking for another year (hopefully) Crap quality photo, but this is what it looks like: http://twitpic.com/7s8nj3 | |

| ooh, LOVE the shelves Kim, they look amazing! I voted twice as well and I went through and figured out all the matches and you are right, Rose will be up against Tessa and its sad, but I doubt she'll win. But regardless, I hope she moves on to the next round. My predictions for the final is Clary vs either Katniss or Tessa. I honestly have no idea who will win between Katniss and Tessa, but it would be fun imo if it came down to Clary vs Tessa in the final round. Rose is still my fav heroine, but Cassie has created some pretty tough competion. I really like these tournaments that the YA Sisterhood has hosted. I would love to see an Adult version of the tournaments as well as couple tournaments for both YA and adult. | |

| Thanks...all my hard work finally paid off. I can't stop looking at them. It was funny, when I first thought about the shelves I was certain I'd have a shelving system: adult vs YA...author's books all together. But no, the only author that has all her books together is Tamora Pierce I put all the books I'd be most likely to reread in the first couple of shelves, because I can reach them. I need to get my dad's massive ladder to put everything on the top shelf. Hope I don't want to take those books down too often. Vampire Book Club did a semi-adult one this year...well it was a mix of guys and girls of all ages, just before the Crush Tournament was on. Barrons won. I had no idea who Barrons was at the time, but now that I've read Fever, can I just say OMG! Barrons totally understand why he won. But I'd like to see all adult guys, that'd be fun I adore Cassie's characters, but I don't feel like they're the best there. I might be bias slightly, because I would LOVE to see Rose win, but I don't think she'll make it that far. I hope it's not an all Cassie final, I don't think it'd be as fun, because she'd win either way. She has 3 contestants in the comp though, so she's got good chances. | |

| Very true. I was just saying it'd be fun cause I think Tessa would give Clary a run for her money. I like Clary, don't get me wrong, but I don't really want her to win. I'd personally love for Rose to win, I think she's the best but I don't see that happening I have no clue who Barrons is, but the Fever series is on my TBR list. Will definitely have to move it up though so I can find out why he won. | |

| Lol, yeah, it is sort of like that. A lot of authors I read are doing side stories/spin-offs before continuing the main story. | |

| Kim- the shelves look amazing! :jealous: ....lol.
I sometimes like the spin offs to series. One series I read wrote a spin off but it intermingled with the regular series ...and actually you had to read the first two books of the spin off, then the next two books for the original series, then the last two books of the spin and then the last books of the series. It was cool. Well you didn't have to but it's the preferred reading order and it the story goes so much better doing that. Sometimes i think the spin offs are needed. There is just too much story and if they try to squeeze it in it ruins it. But spins off are usually shorter so there isn't a chance of ruining, or dragging out needlessly. It's really about satisfying the reader and getting the story out there. So i like that. And if it's a good author/series you dont have to worry about the spin off being fluff , just a reason for the author to capitalize on the fame.
How is everyone doing? | |

| I love and hate spin off that occur during the main story. They're usually really good and don't *have* to be read, but sometimes there'll be scenes that are mentioned in the main story that happened in the spin-offs and it just makes you feel like you're missing something. That's what happened when I read the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. I read all the main books first (well the main books that were out so far) and the 5th book has a few moments where you're like "Who is this person? Where did they come from?" or "I don't remember them fighting so-and-so before..." And then when I went back and read the spin-offs that occur between books 4 & 5 it was like "Oh! That's what they meant when ..." I sort of prefer the spin-offs like Bloodlines, where the first story is pretty much done and everything after it fits into place perfectly. | |

| I like both kinds. Just depends on who the main characters are about. Like with the Night Huntress series, I really liked the story about Denise and Spade but after reading the 5th NH book, I disliked Mencheres girl (can't think of her name atm) and so I couldn't bring myself to read his story. And with the Guild Hunter series, I was skeptical of reading Dmitri's story but ended up loving it and I am excited to read Jason's story. I'm dying for Illium's story but I'm pretty sure Nalini is saving his for last, you know the saying "save the best for last' And I really love how with Bloodlines, the story arc in VA is complete and we get a new story arc. So yeah, I like both kinds I totally just rambled on and on about it lol sorry Tasha, I'm doing good. Nothing to report on. unless ya'll want to hear about how my hubby almost broke my finger on Saturday and it's still super sore and unusable. Or how I bruised the hell out of my thigh when my bed threw me off last week lol How are you? How's the hubby? | |

| Aw Wilda! Hope you have no more injuries. I totally laughed though at "When my bed threw me off last week"...silly.
Not much new with me. The hubby hasn't taken any of the new meds. The anxiety while home is MUCH better but he hasn't gone outside really at all. He still has bad anxiety when going outside. The pain is MUCH better and he's finally eating a bit again. We're supposed to get our membership cards this week for the lawyers program we joined. Once we do we can almost immediately consult with a lawyer via phone. Otherwise, just been super busy. Between the hubby, my dad and bianca i just never have time for myself. And i'm the designator christmas gift wrapper so that's been cutting into my schedule too, much more than a normal person cause i make a whole big project out of wrapping gifts. I have a process and it has to be perfect lol.

| Wilda, how does your bed throw you off it? Lol, I like Nalini's way better though, that Dmitri's book isn't really a spin-off but part of the main story, it's still considered a Guild Hunter story, not so much just a book that's part of the Guild Hunter world.
Tasha, I'm glad your hubby is finding some peace inside, I hope that continues to outside of the house as well soon and that you get some time to yourself real soon.
