| I think they'll actually be easier to handle, they sound a bit more normal than the girl I look after and hopefully they'll be nervous around me since it's the first time I've met them...so *fingers crossed* they don't push the boundaries much.
Hope everyone has a good day (night)

| Kim, good luck with the kiddies!
Ash..like Wilda said it will be cheaper to get the 3 in one books. Actually on amazon this week they had one of the volumes in the bargain priced section for like 3.40 or something like that.
Wilda- awe. Your daughter looked adorable! Hope she had a blast!

| Oh gosh it was chilly this morning. Well, it was only about 59-60F so not really that cold, but since we've been having disgustingly humid mornings and upper 80s-90s for the past few weeks it was a pretty big drop in temperature for us. I only have like one sweater. I should probably go out and buy a newer, warmer one unless I want to be wearing the same one to class every day. lol Anyway, I hope everyone is well. I'm really excited about this weekend because I might be going to see Paranormal Activity 3 with my brothers. I can't wait for Friday. I'll also definitely check the bookstore and see if they've got the omnibus volumes of Sweeps. I'm not sure if I've seen them there before. If they aren't there I'll consider buying them online. There should still be enough time to have it sent before Oct 31/Nov 1. | |

| I'm so upset. This morning the hubby and I were in bed playing with my dog and i saw something on her paw and went to take it off... when it moved. I freaked out the hubby tried to get it off. We didnt know it what it was. SO we rushed her downstairs to the bath tub and gave her another bath with the flea/tick/mosquito shampoo. Then i called up a vet place and made an appointment and my dad took us there. SHe hasn't had her shots since 2006 ( thats the tag she had on when igot her). And the vet said he thinks she hasn't been to a vet since that day cause there are signs of not being taken care of. I almost cried in the vet office. She is very underweight ( she is 9lbs) the vet said. I told the vet i think she was being fed human food and he was so angry about that. She got 4 shots , one of them is a combination shot called 5 in 1. I got medication for her , to give once a month, for heart worms and other worm prevention. And she had fleas. The bath and medicine i gave her the doc said it helped but it most likely isn't going to work. So we got different medication for the fleas and ticks we have to give her tomorrow which is good for a month. Also, her tartar build up on her teeth are really bad, he said she will need surgery and cleaning in a year or so. And she has a popping knee. It pops in and out of place that may have to be addressed in the years to come. And she possible may not be spayed. He said either wait to see or they have a test they can do but it cost 140 bucks. So he said try to weight it out, they usually have symptoms before they go in heat. We ended up paying 400 bucks and thats with a discount cause the vet felt bad for us and my doggie. He was like "You guys are trying your best to take care of her, do the right thing, it's not your fault she wasnt taken care of before" and so he waved his vet fee and fudged some prices lower. She also had blood taken and I have to get them a poop sample. He said it's possible she may have intestinal problems if she was eating human food all this time. My poor princess. I have to save up for the test to see if she is spayed. And then save up for next year for her teeth. I love her regardless if she is sicky. Fits right in with a house of sicky people lol. Just appalled people could not get their pets checked out. I understand not having the money ( we used a credit card to pay) but they offer free shots and spay/neutering ALL the time in the mobile trucks for Animal Activists organizations. There is no excuse. I have to go CLEAN make sure no fleas are around the floor and beds. THe vet said since Friday - to now ... we are probably okay.. cause she wasnt infested and they cant live off of animals for long. But just in case. I'll will be doing laundry for the next few days and carpet cleaning. | |

| Aww I'm sorry about your dog, Tasha. But the good thing is that she's being taken care of now. My chihuahua didn't always live with us... He's about 12 years old and we've had him for about 5 years. He got run over when he was a puppy and has nasal issues. He lost an eye a couple years ago. He also has a cyst on his lower abdomen that can't be removed because he's too old to have surgery and it makes going to the bathroom a little bit of an issue for him because he needs to go more frequently. He had pretty bad heart worms for a while but it got taken care of with a couple weeks' medication. Occasionally his hip pops out and he'll be limping for a few days until it pops back in. He's so healthy despite having so many medical issues. lol Actually, he's pretty spoiled now because he'll only eat Caeser food. But he's always been a picky eater. I remember he used to like only the veggie kibbles in whatever brand he used to have (don't remember the name). Anyway, I'm sure yours will be fine, especially since you're taking such good care of her. | |

| Ash: Lol, you're cold (sorry about your cold weather) and I'm loving that it's hot here. Oh season differences...aren't they wonderful? Tasha: I'm so sorry about your dog, that's terrible. I hate when people mistreat pets. It's like they get it in their head that they're not important. THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT! Just because they don't speak, doesn't mean they've never in pain or don't need ot be looked after. She's so lucky to have you now, someone who cares and will take her to the vet more than once every 5 years. While I'm an equal opportunity pet carer, I especially hate when dogs are mistreated. My neighbours are horrible pet owners. They keep buying new pets though, I think they go through stages were they really want a puppy or a kitten and then it reaches the age were it's not quite so cute anymore and they forgot about them. One year our whole street had to be fumagated for flees because they didn't give their dog flee protection. THOUSANDS of flees were jumping all over the place and their dog nearly died. They ended up putting him down a few years later. He wasn't sick, he wasn't dying, he just wasn't very well trained (stupiedest dog I've ever met...but if they'd loved him a bit more he might have been smarter) The female neighbours cried at having him put down, but they didn't have to do it, he was healthy! Stupid, but healthy! And now they've got this stupid cat that roams, that cat is smart, but he's stupid because he's annoying. He stalks our birds in their cage and only runs off when we spray it with water (we're not cat people). They only times its stayed away is when we mind another friend's dog, because the dog smell scares the cat. Anyway, the point of this rant is that I'm so upset your dog didn't have proper care before and I'm SO glad she's got it now in you. I hope she's alright. Babysitting went so well last night. I don't think I've had an easier job ever. 3 boys under the age of 8, you'd expect some sort of trouble. But none. Their dad was still in the house for a while when I arrived and he was amazed that they weren't talking much (the tv was on, so they were a little distracted ) But even after he left they didn't say much until bedtime, the middle boy didn't want to go to sleep...but he cleaned his teeth and got into bed when I said he had to. They're the cousins of the girls I usually babysit, so I was half expecting a LOT of drama/trouble putting them to bed, but there was no issues at all. I'm super impressed and will totally look after them again in the future. Even if they get used to me more and get a little wild, the took orders well yesterday so I'm confident I could handle them. Hope everyone's well, sorry for all the long messages | |

| Tasha, I am SO SORRY about your pup. I hate it when people don't take care of their animals. Like you, I understand the money issues, but you still have to be responsible for you pets. What I don't understand is why people decide to just mistreat the animal instead of a) finding a good home for it or b) take it to a no kill shelter. I can't watch those Animal cops shows on the Animal Planet cause I get so upset/angry over the mistreating of those animals. Anyways...At least your dog is being taken care of now. She's lucky to have you and that was great of your vet to wave some fees. There are some vets out there that wouldn't have done that at all. Biana is in very good hands and I believe she'll be fine Kim-Glad babysitting went so well. I rarely ever babysat boys but the few I have gave me all kinds of hell. Ash- it was the same way here with the weather. Hot for several weeks then all of a sudden cold. Im enjoying it though My mom is gone for the weekened *dances* I love her to death, but I'm glad ot have a break from her. She moved in with us after she retired in June. I'm the only one of her kids that will help her out no matter what. My brother and sister would charge her out the butt to live with them but the only thing we ask is to babysit the kids once I find a job/start school (whichever comes first). but she's been getting on my nerves a bit lately. I get aggravated with her yelling at the kids or getting onto them while I'm already getting onto them. Its so frustrating. And I feel like I have absolutely NO privacy. She's constantly taking over my laptop even after we just got a desktop for her and the kids to use. Oh and she tries to tell em what to do occassionaly. I'll be 26 in 17 days and I still get told what to do. So yeah things are really starting to get frustrating her. No wonder my hubby stays at work all the time lol. OH yeah she reads my books! I'm VERY protective (some may say selfish) when it comes to my books. But she'll just up and take one. She doesn't always use a bookmark and she has a habit of laying the book down open on the table. She left one book on the table one night and my daughter spilled drink all over it! We got into a huge fight over that. Luckily with it being a brand new book and by a miracle, once it dried it wasn't ruined. So yeah, I'm really enjoying this weekend without her here. Blah, sorry for the rant lol Hope everyone has a great weekend! | |

| That's got to be tough having your mum around. I get that she's your mother, and that she's raised kids before. But they're your kids, you should have the main authority role. If you're both keeping them in line (at the same time) nothing you say is going to stick with them. I'm glad you're not like your siblings, charging her to stay. My aunty did that to my grandmother. Made her pay weekly for expenses. I hope you enjoy your weekend and that in future you mum doesn't mental Lol, I'm protective of my books too. I hate lending them to people, there's only like 2 or 3 people I'm comfortable giving my books to, because I know they're equally as obsessed with books as I am, so they'll treat them right. | |

| I haven't been online much lately. What's everyone up to?
I haven't been up to much. On studybreak as of today technically. Spent yesterday at work and the mall. Needed a break in between all that coursework. Exams finish in 3 weeks. Then I'm technically done with uni. Have to seriously look for a job. Applying for post grad too.
Tasha - cute dog. How's the hubby?
Wilda- hope things are better on the maternal front.
Kim - babysitting 3 boys. that's brave. Its great that they weren't annoying.
Ash- how's uni going? | |

| OMG. Just got off the phone with my mom. She's at my sister's dog sitting cause her and my niece had to go to Miami (4 hours away)for a softball tournament and my 14 yr old niece is being rushed to the hospital! She got hit in the eye with a softball and her face is swollen and she can't open her eye. From what I gather they'll have to do a ct scan to make sure there isnt any damage. My mom is scared that she'll lose her eye Idk how she got hit, but I know how bad it must have hurt. I used to play softball and got hit on the wrist one time and it felt like it broke so i can only imagine how getting hit in the eye felt. Jeez, now I'm rambling cause I'm worried. I'll be like this until I hear more. I just hope she'll be okay. I'm sure she will but that little fear is nagging at me... EDIT: My niece is ok. No broken bones or any other kind of damage. She's just got a massive black eye. | |

| By some miracle no concussion either. I doubt she'll play anymore ball this weekend or week for that matter though.
My son decided to try and get sent to the hospital as well. He thought it would be fun to jump from the couch to the table and fell and slammed his nose and mouth on the edge. Its a bloody mess, but luckily he didn't break it. I hope nothing else happens today.

| Wilda: I'm glad your neice is alright. I used to play softball too...but there's nothing soft about those balls. I played catcher a lot, and there was this one game where I threw the ball back to the pitcher, it bounced off her glove and hit her in the nose, there was blood everywhere. I felt terrible because I threw the ball at her. I hope you son is ok too. | |

| Thanks Kim. He's fine though. Thats what happened to my niece. She was playing short stop and went to catch the ball and it bounced off the ground and hit her in the eye. It looks horrible, but she's ok. I've never been hit in the face with a softball but I've been hit every else and it hurts like hell. The name is extremely misleading. Should be called rock hard ball instead.

| I'm glad she's ok. It's going to be 32 degrees today (C)! I can't believe the hot weather is back! *dances* Downside? There's a chance I'll have to rush into exam supervising because mum's got this guy rostered on who so far hasn't turned up and she's worried it'll get to 8am and he'll ring and say he's not coming. So I have to run around getting ready (in respectable clothing in case I have to rush off to the Catholic Boys school ... so no shorts and singlets for me.) It's only staying hot for one day though...it'll come back. Hope everyone has a good day. | |

| Hey everyone! Thanks for all the sympathy about my doggie. She is awesome and doing better. All her tests from the vet came back good. The only problem is feeding her. She didnt want the doggie food the first couple of days, but she was starting to eat. Then friday she decided she doesnt want it anymore. We had to mix human food in with it. Which isnt good for her. The vet said shred chicken breast for her and mix it with the doggie food. But she still wont eat the food when its mixed. She sat there n tried to pick out the chicken. I ended up today putting ALOT of chicken in the dog food and giving her actual pieces just cause im so worried about her not eating. WE did give her a doggie treat and she LOVED it. We gave it to her cause its supposed to be good for their teeth and clean them, and since hers are bad we figured why noy. But it messed her poop up. My friend said once she gets used to the treat it should get better. But that's what i've been up to. Fussing and worrying over my doggie. Last night a friend came over and we were having a couple of drinks. We stood up til 330am and Bianca woke me up at 530am for her morning walk. After her walk i told her "mommie is going back to bed" but she had other plans for the day. She started licking me and the hubby and nudging us with her nose. It was impossible to go back to bed. Oh and then she heard a dog outside whining and barking. She was napping and she heard it and woke up barking a couple of times. She ran over the whole house making sure there wasnt another dog here. Then went up to each person to be pet. lol. The guy who gave her to us, he is an flight attendant. He gave Bianca a goodie bag of a pillow, blanket and comforter, the ones they give on the business class flights. She LOVES it. Her doggie bed is hooked up. Oh and we found out she isnt fixed. :-(
Libby, the hubby is doing real good. Gaining some strength and stamina back while on break from treatment. He is in better spirits too since we got a dog. He actually helped my brother paint his room today.
Wilda- OMG, I'm glad your niece is alright. And your son. How are they feeling now?
Kim- yay you got your nice weather finally. Hope you get to enjoy it even though you have to do work stuff.

| Tasha-My son is fine and my niece is ok. She had to go back to the er last night bc she has blood in her eye. Turns out a blood vessel popped but its nothing to worry about. The dr said it should go away within 48 hours but her black eye will take a few weeks to heal. I'm sorry that your dog isn't eating. I honestly don't know what to tell you except to try a different brand. Have you tried the canned dog food? It took my pup a couple of weeks after we switched his food but he finally started eating it regularly. I hope she starts eating soon though. Oh and I'm SO happy that your hubby is feeling better and all | |

| Bianca decided today is all about her. Lol. She woke up at 530 for her morning walk and i took her outside and told her " to the corner and back, i dont wanna walk" she looked at me and pooped right where we standing lol. She is considerate sometimes. But then she didnt want us to go back to sleep. She would paddle over to the hubby to be pet, then paddle over to me for a good two hours. Then i fed her a bit. She ate last night, some of the dog food mixed with chicken breast. She ate a lil bit this morning. It didnt occur to me , however bad her oringial owners were, they did fed her, maybe not much or what she is supposed to eat, but they probably gave her food at certain times and she is used to that schedule. So it will take awhile for her to get used to eating at my feeding times. I did research last night and her breed dont need to eat much. Twice a day and some only once a day(but Bianca would never eat only once a day, she is like a model she nibbles only a little bit at a time) . So i feel better about her food situation. And i read they are notorious beggars lol. Which is true. I read " if your eating, your dog will look at you like they are DYING if they dont get a bite" and i started laughing cause its SO true. I thought she was doing that cause she wasnt eating much and she was hungry for regular human food. But I've read articles saying they could be stuffed and still beg as if they haven't ate in weeks. Then she wanted to play so we took her to my mothers room( she has a really big floor space) and we played for her for almost an hour. Then the hubby went outside. And she went nuts. She was barking and crying and running all over looking for him. She sat by the front door whining. So i took her outside and at first she was trying to get his scent but then she gave up and just walked. When i took her back inside she laid staring at the door and then smelled around the room and laid on the hubby's side of the bed and fell asleep. Lol. I'm lookn to buy a gate to train her to stay home alone. It's going to be hard and break my heart but the hubby only has one more month off of treatment and once back on we are going to be gone alot with appointments and hopefully i can start working soon, so she needs to learn to be alone.
Wilda- I'm glad your son is fine. And your niece. My friend popped a blood vessel in his eye just the other day. It's typically not a problem. It happens to him alot... from getting angry and screaming. He had a fight with his partner and they were arguing and thats when the blood vessel popped. His eye was fine later the same day. So no worries about that. I couldnt help but smirk thinking about a black eye, not that your niece got it, but it reminded me of Rose from VA. Remember that scene? lol.

| I just had the longest day of supervising ever. Left the house at 7am and didn't get home until 6:15pm. My feet are killing me because my mum and I went up and down 5 flights of stairs a thousand times. And my sister got a casual teaching for tomorrow, so I'm taking over her supervising job. BUT it means I have to cancel/reschedule a milkshake date with one of my uni friends. I haven't seen her in months, so I'm hoping she doesn't mind starting late in the day for milkshakes or that she's free on Friday instead (haven't heard back from her yet about changing times).
Anyway, hope everyone's well.
