YAY Kim!! Congrats! So happy for ya!

Thanks Tasha. I'm pretty happy myself. I'm just so glad I don't have to do it again. Still haven't gone for a solo drive yet, but to be honest I don't really want to, but at least it's an option now. No more needing parents to be in the car with me (not that I want to drive by myself all the time, but still, it's nice to know I don't *have* to have them there)

well, I'm a little late but I hope your hubby had a fantastic birthday, Tasha!

I already said it on fb, but congrats again, Kim!

My wrist isn't worse this morning so I'm guessing I'm twisting it somehow during the night but my brace prevented that last night. Hopefully it'll start to heal now.

Onto other news. Sunday morning, my hubby and I received a call from his mom telling us that their house burnt down. Luckily they weren't home and are all safe btu they lost EVERYTHING. However, he got another call last night tell us that they will be fine. Their neighbors (they live in a really small town) have truly come together and helped. People have been bringing them money, clothes, groceries, etc. It amazes me. If that happens where I live people do their very best to avoid you instead of helping. Its insane the world we live in but I'm happy that they have so many friends and neighbors who do what they can. They were suppose to come here for Spring Break, but we've decided to go there. The fire department told then that if they had been home, the odds of them surviving were slim to none so we could have received a very different call. And my hubby's father's health is gettign worse. he's now on an oxygen tank and the dr's say he really doesn't have a lot of time left and his brother who has downs syndrome among othr problems only has a yr or two left as well. So we're going to go and visit them. We'll leave here on the 23rd (the day THG releases-which will kill me, but I can see it when we get home) and come back the 29th.

I was sitting here last night looking at my bookshelf and wondering how many fire proof safe's I would need for all my books lol We're going to get one and scan all our pictures and put them on disks and put all of our important papers and stuff in it. You never know when something like that will happen and should always be prepared. So thats how I'll be spending my day today.

Wilda: I'm so sorry your hubby's family is going through this. They are incredibly lucky to have been out of the house. I hope everything's alright with them.

I've had that thought about books before too, how easily they can be destroyed. I know they're not the most important thing if there ever was a fire *knock on wood* but they hold some of my best memories, and there's no way they'd survive.

Tasha, Kim and Wilda: Thanks you guys. And anyway, things weren't working out for him, so we broke up last night. Cried myself to sleep, but it can't be helped. Bleep happens, and there's no going back and changing things. It happened for a reason and I'm accepting it. Yeah, I want to be with him forever, but not if it doesn't make him happy. I was happy, I don't know about how he felt, but eh...oh well. Anyways, school is better-ish. Still gotta get up my grades. Doing a project right now. Something about Digital Citizenship. Meh...-pouts and draws my knees up to my chest-...so, I'm rewriting my story Blood Feud. Check out my first one in Fan Art and Fiction down close to the bottom of the homepage of SB. Kim, I feel the same way about my books. My original copies means soooo much to me and even though they can be replaced, another copy wouldn't be the same. Especially my arcs-mainly the personlized copy of Wolfsbane. Those can't be replaced.

I took the brace off of my wrist today. It's much better but pulling on thigns still hurts so I've got to take it easy still : / My hubby's parents are doing great! They are getting past the fire, and moving on.

Ela-Ooh, thats right. You went and saw the new Daniel Radcliff movie. How was it?

Kim- That's why i want to re-learn how to drive. To have that option. But, I'm in no rush because I know how much my parents would abuse the fact I could drive. So, I'm going to re-learn secretively. I'm already their errand girl and do all the odds and ends for them... it will only be ten times much more to do if I could drive. I don't mind helping out since I'm home and don't work. But they abuse that and literally plan my days for me.

Wilda- So sorry to your hubby's parents. I"m so relieved they are okay and happy they are moving on. Hugs to you all!

So, we had some extra money this month. I got a random refund check for 85 dollars from my college ( they said I over paid tuition, and i graduated the summer before it turned 2011 so technically it was still 2010 so this is a year and half later...lol) The hubby got some money from his family. I was real happy to not be broke. But, as a gift for the hubby I let him blow the money on buying a PSVita. It's a new handheld system. He loves. He's happy. We're broke again. Lol. But, I don't mind too much. The hubby said when he gets next month's disability check I can take my 85 bucks back and finally order books I've been wanting to get for MONTHS. Otherwise things are pretty mellow on my end. Just been so tired. Need a break from everyday life.

Wilda - it was freakin amazing! go see it if you're brave enough...honestly, one of the scariest films i've EVER seen! had to sleep with my lamp on, friday night b/c i just couldnt fall asleep in the dark!

Tasha - yeah, it's that film...go see if you like Dan, and if you know what might happen in the film...it is scary and not for the faint heart.

I want to see the Woman in Black, but I'm one of those who wants to watch the scary movies but then hides under the cover the entire time lol. I get scared and freak out easily

It's an amazing film, but it is also one of those you need something to hide behind...i used my mum's shoulder lol! i would not recommend it for any children under the age of, woo...14 or 15 maybe?

Tasha: The only time my parents would make me do extra driving for them is if they decided they both wanted to drink if we went out for dinner, the kids have to drive home because none of us drink much so it wouldn't be hard for us to be all "Ok, we won't drink and we'll drive home". Although my dad's making me drive tomorrow because we have to pick up football tickets. He wants me to do a solo drive soon, so that I can just say I have done it.

Ela/Wilda: I love Dan, but I don't think I could handle a really scary movie. I don't do scary movies.

Tania: Definitely excited about this month. Claudia Gray signing next Tuesday and then Midnight Hunger Games screening Wed/Thursday. It's going to be a good week.

Kim- Good luck with your first solo drive. Haven't decided if I'll go to Claudia's auckland signing. I sold all my evenight books so i'll have to pick up fateful if I do go but I don't know if I want to actually read that.

Probably won't see women in black. Saw about 70% of Dorian gray cause ben barnes is in it but I didn't like the horror aspect of it

It's been a while since I posted. Nothing interesting to report on. Been really busy, a whole lot of 10hr days. Post grad in intense.

Just saw coverage of THG premiere. So excited about it

Libby, Fateful was an amazing book, and Balthazar (the latest in the Evernight world) was better than Evernight. I don't know if it was just because she's an established author now or because Balthazar was my favourite Evernight character, but it was ridiculously awesome.

This time next week it'll be FIVE HOURS until I'm seeing Hunger Games. Ah, so excited!

I am going crazy over all this Hunger Games stuff. I actually sat down and watched the entire premiere. it was more fun than I thought it would be. The actors are funny and completely down to earth. Jennifer looked AMAZING! I LOVED her dress. The only other premiere I watched was Deathly Hallows part 2, but it was boring. I reread THG last week and I'm currently rereading CF. I can't wait to see the movie! 9 more days to go!!!

So today started off really well, but ended kinda badly.

Good news: I got a 3 month internship with one of the Sydney publishing companies. It's unpaid and only 1 day a week. But it is 3 months and it is experience. The lady I was talking to said there's the option of extending it after 3 months and that they try and get positions for their interns, either within their own company or somewhere else in Sydney, but either way it's experience and I start next Thursday.

Bad new: My Pop's been sick for the last month. We found out he has stomach and liver cancer and he's been in and out of hospital a bit. We're not getting a lot of info (or I think my parents are filtering the info a bit so as not to upset my sisters and me) But today was not a good day, so they admitted him to hospital again and when mum and dad got home from visiting they said it's not looking too good. We haven't told either of my sister's he's back there yet. One sister was doing this pastry course tonight that she's been excited for all week and we didn't want to ruin her night and the other is heading back to sydney tomorrow afternoon and we didn't want her to stress all night, then have to go to work all of tomorrow, before sitting in a car by herself for 5 hours. We're going to tell them both tomorrow morning, so at least they'll have a good night's sleep. I, on the other hand, will probably spend most of tonight reading or watching Friday Night Lights because I'm not sure sleep would be good for me atm. I'm thinking of picking up a Tamora Pierce book, because her stories always make me happy.

Kim - that's awful! so sorry cant imagine what you're going through right now...i agree, not telling your sisters until the morning is a good idea...just awful he's got cancer i really do hope he gets better and gets through this! you know we're here with you every step of the way! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Kim, I am so sorry about your Pop! We're here for you anytime! Sending lots of love and hugs your way! Congrats on the intership!! (I want to say sooo much more but I can't think of anything else at the moment)

Oh Kim! HUGS. I hope and have faith your Pop will recovery! I'm not a cancer expert but i know alot of people who have and went through cancer ( from all the hospital time I've spent with my dad and his colon cancer and the hubby with his brain cancer, we meet alot of people in treatment centers and for appointments). If there is anything I can do ( if you want to discuss treatment options, research, or hear stories about people I've met) just let me know! We're here if you need anything!

Disney just called. After 4 months on the waiting list, I GOT THE JOB!!!! It's part time and only 3 days a week, but it's better than nothing. I'm super excited. The lady on the phone was actually laughing at me b/c I was so excited lol

Ela/Wilda/Tasha: Thanks guys, it really means a lot that I can come to you all. It doesn't look good. He had radiotherapy a couple of weeks ago, but everything we've been told is just to "make him comfortable". I'm trying really hard not to focus on it too much, but I needed somewhere I could go, to build a support group.
