| These tornadoes are like a nightmare come true. I know they scare the ever loving hell out of me. I was terrified just watching the footage. *shivers* I cannot imagine going through a disaster like that. The storms were way north of us in Houston, so we haven't had any bad weather. I really feel for the people affected by these storms, and I hope y'all stay safe as well.
Kim, I hope you have a good trip!!

| Have a fun trip Kim! LOL Tasha. I feel the same way. I joined them first though but they weren't very active so as soon as I found this site I jumped and joined and haven't looked back. I keep up with some inof from them btu they seem to post the info after I've already found out. Shadow Bite is my VA home Ash, I feel the same way about tornados. Hurricanes I can handle, but tornados scare the crap out of me. I woke up in a great mood today. I finished the book I started alst night and now I'm fixing to clean. Really clean. I mean get-on-your-knees-and-scrub clean. Then I plan on starting another book. I seem to be in an obsessive reading mood but right now I need to focus on chores *sigh* If I don't show up for a few days then you know I'm trapped under all those clothes piled up in my room lol Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! | |

| Hey guy! Back home now. Trip was pretty good...really good drive down south, my mum was sick on saturday, so we had an lazy morning before dragging her out of bed to see my grandmother (sort of an early mother's day thing since we wouldn't be going down next week) and then went and met my aunty's new puppies (SO CUTE!). Got to hang out with my best friend for a bit, she surprised me with some new books, but didn't get to say goodbye, she was staying at another friend's house last night, so she wasn't at home when I went to say goodbye to the family, ended up talking to her brother for an hour instead. Had a TERRIBLE drive home. We left late because my sister thought she was playing football at 2:30pm, but turned out she wasn't, so we're heading home around 3-ish...and then we hit a MASSIVE traffic jam on the main highway. We were stopped for 40 minutes. When we finally got moving again we passed a burnt car, someone had crashed off the side of the road and it looked pretty bad (after googling it once home, found out one guy died, the driver lived..so sad)...So then, we were driving along again and about an hour later we come across another heap of traffic...and this is so unusual for the area we were in...the highway usually flows extremely well. So we took a detour; went through a few towns off the highway and came home from a different way.
Glad to be home again. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

| My laptop hates me i swear, yesterday it was giving me so much problems. It was disconnecting from the internet but my fiancee was connected online on his laptop and the PC was on , we were streaming videos. And my laptop said the network wasnt connected. For along time too and nothing worked to fix it. SO i gave up. As soon as the hubby touches the laptop its working again.
Then today, i was responding a LONG comment to Kim's trip and my laptop basically said " bye biatch" and shut down. "Installing Updates" but i have the settings set, updates notifications pop up and i choose what to do ( update now, update later, update at shut down etc etc). Nothing popped. Literally in the middle of my comment the laptop just started shutting down. It no like me :-(
Okay , that's my rant... lets try this again..
Kim, your trip sounded like so much fun! Sucks getting stuck in traffic. In my part of the woods over here, the traffic is bad like 80% of the time. When accidents happen, they are usually cleared up or aleast rotated over to clear up a lane or two pretty fast. But traffic is STILL slow because everybody slows down, nearly stop, to LOOK at the accident. I get frustrated when there is traffic on the other side of the highway.. cause you know it's just people being nosy.
But i got all excited reading about driving through the towns. Thats one of my life goals. Drive cross country taking the scenic route. Actualy in two weeks my goal is to start re-learning how to drive. TWo weeks cause this week is the 6th and last week of radiation for the fiancee. Then a week to catch up on the bills, paperwork, chores and house projects ( like cleaning the closet and what not). Actually the first couple of days i plan on doing nothing but SLEEPING. Lol. I couldn't practice driving these past weeks cause by time i got home from the hospital it was afternoon school kids time. WIth my patience , i would run em over...lol

| I feel so bad but at the same time, I don't. There's two guys that like me. One I like back, the other I don't. I turned down the one I don't like, and told the guy I like to give me a week to get over Travis. My doctor says it takes two weeks for trauma like that to go away. I went to the doctors yesterday again, and she says they'll check me later and see if the UTI is gone. I don't feel it, but it could still be there, so I'm still taking the medication. Also, when I went to my doctor yesterday, I got anti-depressants but, it should help me feel better. They're starting me out on a low dose for the moment and see how it effects me. If it helps, then they'll keep me on this dose. If not, they'll increase the miligrams of the tablet thingy. I am currently going back on my ADD medicine, and I'm taking pain and sleeping pills. Part of the depression, I suppose, effects my sleeping habbits. Okay, that ends the most serious things at the moment. Talked to the guy I like all night last night and the night before that also. He's very sweet, but some of the characteristics and physicalities aren't my interest, but we'll find a way to see how things between us work. Well, that's about it. | |

| Ugh, Tasha, I'm sorry your computer was being a pest. Technology, it's supposed to make things better, but really it's just annoying.
Yeah, it's not like heavy traffic is unheard of here, but it was just ridiculous yesterday. At least the first time there seemed to be an explanation for being stopped, the second time there was no way to tell how far it was going or what was causing the build-up, so it was way better to take the detour. Because we drive everywhere when we go on holidays, I'm sort of used to going through small towns etc. But it's heaps of fun! Except yesterday, even though it was only 6pm, it was just so DARK out, and the trees/no street lights made everything look spooky and creepy, but cool at the same time. It wasn't a new experience, I'm certain I've driven through those towns before, because my dad knew *exactly* which turns to take without necessarily needing the street signs, and it all looked sort of familiar, even at night. But I guess it was just a bonus experience.

| So, I turn on the tv to watch something random while eating lunch, and find out Osama Bin Laden is dead. Not exactly lunch-time drama or something, but I guess it'll do for an assessment distraction. | |

My whole family was downstairs watching the news, waiting for Obama to make the announcement. Fox news got the bead on it though, so I think just about everyone knew before the president came on. I don't feel happy about his death, but I realize this was necessary. To be honest, this just puts me more on edge wondering what the leaderless groups are going to do now. Just because Osama's dead doesn't mean the war is over. If anything, things are just getting started. You know... cut off the hydra's head, it grows two more.

You know... cut off the hydra's head, it grows two more. Just caught the live speech from Obama. I don't think the war is over. It's just going to go to the next phase. Unfortunately it always does. Its assesment distraction. Made a shopping detour after uni so I've lost 2 hrs of of study time. As if I wasn't already behind from watching the royal wedding. Haven't been here for days. I had to drop by.

| Ash: I completely agree. I don't think it'll change much. He wasn't the only one out there fighting against everyone else. But we'll see where this takes us now.
Libby: I was doing the same thing...being distracted from assessments. I guess I could have ignored the Osama stuff, but now it just means more work to do this afternoon.

| Sorry guys for ignoring the other posts, and not being on in ages! But yaah my sister who is in America rang me at half four to tell me to switch on the news It's a good thing that he is dead, because I guess some of his followers may not know how to lead or they may be scared and realise that you will always get caught. But then again, there will probably be an uproar and it could get a lot worse I'm hoping that everyone will be safe! It's like we can never win And sorry you guys lost study time! | |

| Osama's death set my fiance off. His dad was in the army since he was 17 years old- so 30 something years of service. My fiancee's mother was in the army too. His grandparents on both sides. Many cousins and uncles. My fiancee wanted to join the air force, but was rejected cause of tattoos. I was sleeping when the news broke. ANd my hubby woke me up to tell me. At the time i could care less( i dont care about anything when im sleeping) My fiance was up all night, emotional with pride- for his family members, for his mother, for his father and for all the soldiers out there. He was grieving for his mother and all those soldiers who gave their lives. He grew up with the military brat lifestyles, moving around. Poor. Not having a family. He knows of the sacrifices the soldiers make and he was so happy and proud of them, of their dedication. He told his dad last night " I'm proud to be your son"
I told my fiancee this morning." I know you wanted to be solider. YOu may not be fighting THAT war but you are fighting a different kind of war. A war with cancer. You are a solider and I'm proud of you".
Even though I come from a different mindset, i'm very anti-war and anti-retaliation. WHen i woke up and processed everything i felt very proud of our soldiers. I support them 100%. Especially with the way the government used and abused them and all the political crap. OUr soldiers withstood all that and retained their decency and integrity and honor. I'm proud to have soldiers who go beyond the call of duty. I"m just worried about the retaliation, and how much danger thats going to put our soldiers in. They are not expendable in my eyes, thought the government tends to treat em so. I just wish all the soldiers to stand strong and do what they have to do to come back alive. I dont believe in commemorating this date, but i do realized its what the soldiers needed. And i wont begrudge them that. I dont give a crap about this death, or the about Obama, his part or re-election or any of that. I just care about the soldiers. I've always wanted to change the world. ANd it's people like the soldiers that fight for a better world, fight to give US a chance to do so. Having been surrounded by military personnel and spending time on a military base. I have a deep appreciation for them. I just wish everyone to stay safe in the days to come.

| Tasha, I'm the same way. Very anti-war, but I'm SO proud of our soldiers. I got all emotional when I found out a little bit ago. Normally I wouldn't get emotional liek that over it, but I've been super emotional lately. I agree, I don't think this is over, I think the war has just begun. But I do feel that Osama's death was necessary for all those who lost their lives and the families that lost loved ones that day. America was damaged that day and I think his death will finally start to heal the country. Kim, glad you had a great trip. It sucks about the traffic. Where I live, traffic gets like that pretty often. Glad you're home safe Tasha, sorry about your laptop. I've had mine do that. I've had mine for almost 16 months and the internet connection still does that. Makes me want to throw it out the window sometimes -_- I had a sucky Saturday. The kids wouldn't listen at all and they bout drove me crazy. but Sunday was a great day. We went shopping and took the kids to play miniature Golf so we got to enjoy this beautiful sunny weather. We had a lot of fun. I woke up with my legs a little sore though. The place we went had a lot of steps and one section the steps were pretty steep. My son almost lost his balance and fell back but luckily I was behind him. It freaked me out though and we stayed away from that area afterwards. But overall, we had a nice family outing | |

| Tasha - Aw! Yaah I remember you saying that your hubbys family are mostly army. That must have been an amazing thing for him to hear! And thats such a nice thing for him to say to his father!! I'm glad for him and his family and all the other soldiers. I don't much like war either, but if its to protect many more innocents then I'm oka with it I guess. I hope you stay safe! Wilda - Yaah, its a little like closure for the people that lost loved ones. Sorry about the Saturday, but Sunday *thumbs up* Mini Golf is such a fun thing to do!! Have a bath, its good for aches right? And yes, lucky you were behind him! I'm glad you had a good time | |

| I'm so excited, tomorrow is my fiancee's last day of radiation treatments! And my dad is feeling great. He's been sneaking out for weeks while I'm at the hospital but like two weeks ago he drove my mom around and my mother officially gave him permission to drive, so he's been driving pretty regularly but i didn't approve. So today was the first real time I went out with my dad while driving. We went to the whole sale store B.J.'s. He is stocking up for a bbq we are having Sunday for mothers day.
And of course i visited the book section they have there. And i found the Wicked Lovely series. Well books 1 -4 there. for 6 bucks and some change ( like 20 something cents) each. SO i grabbed them up and hugged them while they shopped. I intended to pay for them separately, but my dad told me to put em the cart so I did. And then he was making fun of me for hugging the books for so long. He was like " ITS OOOOKAYYY! No one is gunna steal emmm. " Lol BUt i'm happy to have fond them. They are one of the series i've been wanting to get for a long time but they just never went down in price.

| Hey guys! I know, we've all had our lips sealed for the past few days. Tasha: I'm SO happy you're excited. I'm glad everyone's doing ok at your end, especially your dad. It's makes me smile, so I imagine you're ecstatic. I'm excited for you getting the Wicked Lovely series too. I haven't read the last one yet, but I LOVE the first 4. They're an amazing series, and that was fabulous getting them so cheaply. I would have hugged the books too! I've had an up and down week. Today I'm feeling super drained, all I want to do is sleep. I had a terrible sleep last night. I was stressing about my current assessment. It was supposed to be due today, but we got an unofficial extension, and I woke up in the middle of the night thinking, what if it hadn't actually been changed, and I haven't finished it yet so I panicked. At 3am, I was up doing my assessment. I still didn't finish it, because I started to fall asleep, but it meant I was stressing all morning. I felt ill and shakey, which pissed me off. It was only after I met up with my friend from the course and she reassured me (even though I already knew this was true) that there was nothing to worry about, did I start to calm down. The day got better after we went clothes shopping...didn't get anything, but it was fun to look at. I started with the downside of the week so I could end with the upside! I met Rachel Caine, author of the Morganville Vampires series on wednesday. And she is SUPER awesome. She's insane, which is cool and definitely what you want in an author who is writing about crazy vampires. She talked about random things while we waited for more people to turn up and then answered a heap of questions about writing and her books (not just morganville though, because she has quite a few other books), then read us a passage from book 11 which drove my friend and I crazy because there were only 4 people who had finished book 10 and we were 2 of them and the passage, while not spoilery at all, had a hint of something at the end. Then we got to get our books signed. While waiting in line, my friends and I talked to the Penguin representative, Felicity, who runs all the VA stuff for Penguin Australia...I've met her before when Richelle was in Sydney and she remembered me and knew of my friends because we were all regulars on the Penguin VA forum, plus we talk to her a lot on Twitter...and we spent like an hour talking to Felicity (Rachel kept joining in our conversations every now and then) and stayed until Rachel had finished all the signings It was a FANTASTIC night. hope everyone is doing well. | |

| Rachel's coming to NZ as well. Penguins running a comp to win lunch with her. I would enter but I haven't got around to reading her books. No signing event though Kim- Sounds like you had a great time a Rachel's signing. its cool that you know people at penguin. Tasha- Glad your fiancée and dad are doing better. | |
