It's hard to imagine winter anywhere when we're getting 90-100°F in TX.

Libby: So far it's not going too well. But I haven't sent out emails yet. The job I applied for the other week seems to be a bust. No-one I know who applied got any confirmation emails and so far none of us have got the job either (no phone calls, no emails, nothing). So I'll just have to keep trying. I hope your job hunting goes well too.

Ash: (after converting the temperature to C: 32-37°C) Yeah, that's a pretty nice temperature. It's wet and cold here today, so I'm staying indoors.


Trying to decide if I start a new book or what Transformers 2. Going to the movies tomorrow to see Transformers 3. This time yesterday I'd never seen a Transformers movie. Watched #1 last night, thought it was a pretty decent movie. Funny, interesting, not too annoying, the action wasn't bad. So I have to watch Transformers 2 sometime today or really early tomorrow morning so I'm up-to-date. One of my friends told me on friday that I HAD to watch them so I wouldn't be asking her questions all through the movie. She said it nicely though, and she has a point...wouldn't be fun if I had no idea what was going on.

We got the call from the doctor's office today....and it's not an infection...or an allergy. They think it might be acid reflux, so they're putting me on Zantac for awhile to see if it helps. Hopefully me cough will get better soon.

Just popping in to share the good news! My dad is coming home today! He needs 3 weeks of IV antibiotics which we couldnt afford , for home care or to put my dad in a nursing home. With our insurance it would be 50 dollars a day for a co-payment for a visiting nurse to administer the medication daily at home. And a 1,500 down payment for a nurse homing. But the docs and hospital called the insurance and arrange for FREE home care. THey told the insurance "do u want to pay 500 dollars a day plus the price of medication and services for 3 weeks or eat the 50 bucks co-payment?" So the insurance said they will wave the co-payment fee and the price of anything else like medication will be added onto the hospital bill. Which means my daddy can come HOME and finish his treatment at HOME.

I'm off to the hospital now , hoping all this goes smoothly :-D

I'm super beat. They released my dad around 630pm and then we had to run and find a pharmacy to fill the prescriptions and i had to write BIG post it notes of what times which medications have to be taken. Then settled my dad in. I'm just now getting into my room to change into pjs and unwind. ( it's 9:35 pm). I'm soooo ready to hug my pillow.

SO apparently I'm a nurse now. Yup. PISSED off isnt even the word for it. The hospital SAID they arranged for free visiting nurse care everyday for my dad and his IV meds. Well when the people from the agency got here they were appalled we were told that. Lots of phone calls and supervisors later, that just doesnt happen. THey dont provide daily visiting nurses. They are going to write up the hospital for misleading us. Cause we would of kept my dad there for the rest of the course of his treatment if that was the case. So it was either I let the nurse show me how to do the IV meds today ( and tomorrow than i'm on my own) , or we have to send my dad to a nursing home, which we cant afford to do but dont even have the heart to do it either So, i'm nurse Tasha for the next couple of weeks.

Oh god, that's hard work for you Tasha. I hope the nurse is giving you thorough instructions. That's bad form for the Hospital, giving you false hope like that.

Yes Becca, i got the email and i spoke to Wilda about it. I'm curious to what others have to say about that ordeal.

I honestly didn't think she would tell you guys. If she didn't, I would've, you guys deserve to know. Even if it wasn't my place, I would've made it my place.

I know. She emailed my old school email so i dont bother to check that email until Wilda asked me if i got mail ....and then i went and checked. I'm not surprised i got the email, i was one of the first persons she used to talk to talk too, along with Tori who is rarely on anymore, when she first joined. But, i didnt even bother to respond. I stopped emotionally investing in Ash a long time ago. And now I'm glad I did. I'm just disgusted by the whole situation. But it makes me love SB and the HONEST and true people here even more. I don't know how i would have ( and still am) gotten through everything wit my hubby and my dad.

She and I have been emailing back and forth and she's on the brink of going off at me because I haven't told her how I feel about the whole thing yet.

Things like this make me appreciate real people.

Tasha, sorry you're still having hospital problems. I can't believe all the things they've done to you guys. But at least your dad's home again, so that's good. *hugs*

Augh. I don't know if you guys remember... but a couple months ago I applied to a college out of state... yeah... just found the rejection letter in my mail today. *cries* I didn't really think I would end up going there even if I did get accepted, but it was nice to think that I could if I wanted to and it really sucks to get rejected. Luckily my old college readmitted me so I'll at least be going somewhere this fall. Just need to work out how to get downtown every day.

Rhia: There was never really much shock for me. Just a load of betrayal.

Kim- thank you for the support. I'm still pretty annoyed about it all. With my personality, i'm more upset about OTHER people... if this situation happened to them. I've become quiet capable through caring for the fiance and assertive from it too. I'm quick to take them to the doctors or hospital and i have all the emergency phone numbers, I'm able body so I will do it. But just thinking about all the elder people i met, and all the sick people i met, they dont have a person like me, a family, to step up to the plate. U know what i mean? It's so much pressure on me though. I cant even begin to try to cope with the ordeal. Today was my dad's first day home and his needs were just unrelenting. I can deal with the physical assistance , but i'm having a tough time dealing with his mental defects. It made me SO grateful the fiancee in mentally more or less intact with a new awesome positive personality. I hugged him randomly. It makes caring for him so much easier. My dad just doesnt have any concept of reality and responsibility and i guess he gets frustrated with his lack of understanding and memory and he gets grumpy, to put it nicely. With the fiancee i can tell him, take your medicine and he could take it. With my dad he isnt able to do that and he has a dozen medication several times day. I just fear, im slacking with care-taking for one to care take for the other. I'm only one person and i'm trying to find a balance

Ash-thanks alot! HUGS. Regardless of everything, It's great to have him home. I took him for his rehabilitation walk for his heart, walked up the driveway. And he went straight to his garden and then he sat down outside and he was soooo happy to be outside. Last night we had a scare though...it was thunder storms... so my mom and I woke up thinking it would startle him awake,which is sooo not good for his heart. We were especially worried cause he's been in a hospital for almost two months... so he hasnt heard storms in a long time.We go to check on him and he is snoringgggggg. lol

Sorry you didnt get accepted. I know it sucks to be rejected. I got rejected to some colleges too. what i said to make myself feel better "their loss!"..lol.

Becca: Yeah, I got a PM. I told everyone months ago what I thought, so I wasn't surprised.

Ash: *hugs* I'm so sorry. I'm glad you got readmitted to the old college. I still vote for driving, not the bus, to get you to school.

Tasha: I admire you so much Tasha. You've been put through hell as a carer and you just keep pushing through it all. It shows amazing strength and both your dad and fiancee are incredibly lucky to have someone like you watching out for them. You ARE only human, so try not to be so hard on yourself. Like I said, I think you're doing an AMAZING job, and no-one would doubt that. You know we're here to help relieve any mental frustrations. We're available for any venting sessions needed. Any way we can help *hugs*

Thanks guys. *hugs* I did feel a bit bummed about it earlier, but I'm feeling good about going back to my old college. I know the campus already and have some favorite spots to just chill between classes. I decided a couple months ago that I'd rather continue school here instead of going out of state but it was still really lame being rejected. I really only applied to see whether it could happen. Ugh. Anyway, now that I know it won't... Yeah, their loss even if I had wanted to go there in the end. lol I still think that school is pretty cool, but not for me.

Tasha, I'm glad your dad slept well. lol Would hope for him to be home for a long time after everything. What you do for your family is so amazing. *hugs*
