| I'm freaking out. I just got a phone call from the publishing house I applied to a few weeks ago. They want me to come in for an interview! I'm all jittery and excited and SUPER nervous! The interview is not until Thursday and I'm not getting my hopes up at all, but it's nice to know they've considered me further for the job.
Just had to tell someone (I would have tweeted it, except I follow the publisher's twitter account and they follow me back, so I don't want to seem over-eager)

| Wow, lots to catch up on...
Tasha, i'm sorry about the whole nursing thing with your Dad. That was completely wrong of the hospital to do that but at least they showed you how to do it and you were already great at taking care of your Dad so I believe he's in good hands.
Ash, sorry you didn't get into the school you wanted to go to.
Kim, congrats on the interview!!! Thats awesome. GL, I hope you get the job.
As for Ashleigh, well i'm just going to spit it out. Everything she has told everyone from the very beginning has been a big fat lie. She told us about all the horrible, dramatic stuff she was going through and it turns out none of it was ever real. I'm not too surprised that she lied, but it still pisses me off and like Tasha, I'm disgusted with it. But it is what it is, I'm over it.

| Kim- ohhh i'm so happy for you! I was still secretly hoping all the other applicants had typos on their resumes ( muhaha ) and so i'm so glad you were called for an interview! You're going to do a fantastic job... i wonder if you can list SB as a reference ...you'll get raving recommendations from all of us here lol.
Libby- oh i wish for the best for your call back too! I'm all excited and have my fingers crossed for you and Kim.
All the talk of colleges and jobs, i feel like my baby birds are leaving the nest. I'm so proud of you all.
Wilda- thanks love. My dad is really working my nerves. He is just not mentally there anymore. He isnt pleasant to be around at all anymore. And apparently, i'm the only one he is border line nice too, so i have to do ALL the interactions with him. I never thought the day would come when i would happy my mother is staying home from work, but today she is and i'm freaking ecstatic for the help. But, she can't be much help because he just isn;t nice so i still have to do everything. I really hope as he recoups and recovers he'll become his old personality again, the nurses and docs keep telling us he SHOULD, but at this point we just dont see that light at the end of the tunnel yet.
And about the Ashleigh thing. I was particularly upset because when she first joined i had no reason to doubt her and her stories so i invested alot of time and emotions into her, opening up about myself and my past. I remember a few months back Kim called her out on her stories. I detached at the point but still hoped she was being honest. She told some particularly troubling stuff and people really do go through those things. Like i told some of the other girls here, it was like she combined everyone's traumas and fed it back to us. It's not right. People here DO have issues and the time is better spent on them and the REAL situations. That's why i'm mad. People here actually do need the advice and support and all her stories diverted from that.

| I....I....Ash was like sister to me.....but I can't really say to her this one thing.......I..............I'm seriously pissed off!!! It's one thing to lie to protect yourself. It's an entirely different thing to pretend that you have had those things happen to you. | |

| I'm super intelligent tonight (and because you can't really tell my tone online, I was being sarcastic) Was cooking dinner earlier because I'm home alone, making chicken burgers. Everything was going fine until I pulled out the tray with the bread roll on it. I had an oven mit on one hand, because I didn't think I needed one on both. Safely placed the tray on the kitchen table and then went to move it slight so it was even...with the NON-oven mitted hand. I didn't burn much of my hand, but it sure hurts. | |

| Ugh I've done that before. Sorry you burned your hand Kim. Those are some of the most painful kinds of injuries and even the really minor ones can hurt for days. Though that's not as silly as what my niece did today. lol She was playing this high five game with her dad and when he put his hand out for her to slap she accidentally forgot to put her hand out... and gave him a face-five. She didn't cry or anything even though I think her nose hurt, though I think it was mostly because her parents were laughing their asses off. | |

| Kim- yup dont feel bad I've done that before too. Hope it was real minor and the burns arent giving you any trouble today. Speaking of burns, i was frying some french fries and mozzarella sticks for the hubby last night, so i did the fries first and then i turned off the flame on my stove to put the mozzarella sticks in the oil and the hubby deciding to be " helpful" just drops them in the oil ( still very hot) and splatters oil everywhere, including me. I was like OW babe wtfffff and he was like "i didn't get hit"... LOL. smh. | |

| Thanks guys. Yeah, it's not too bad this morning. Doesn't hurt anymore. Just a small red line on my palm near my thumb. It wasn't so much the burn that annoyed me either, but stupid me for not moving the try with the hand that was already protected.
Ash: Oh your poor niece! I'm glad she didn't seem to react much. Kids are strange things. I've discovered they only cry when they're hurt if it's REALLY bad or if someone say "Oh no, are you alright?" because it suddenly occurs to them that someone else thinks they're hurt so they probably are.
Tasha: Oh no, I hate that. It's a nice thought that he wanted to help, but oil burns really hurt. Hope you weren't too badly splattered.
Rhia: yep, burns hurt. | |

lol Yeah I've noticed that too. If kids think they might be hurt but they're not sure, and they see you laughing, they'll probably laugh as well. Which reminds me of this one time my niece (the same one who face-fived her dad yesterday) when she was about 1-2 years old was playing on this Fisher-Price slide/playhouse type thing... it had a little landing to stand on inside it. It was only like 3-4 ft tall... you know for toddlers? Well she was climbing on it and fell off the landing (it wasn't very far but since she was so little I was worried she might have hurt herself). When I looked inside the playhouse I saw her cramped in the little space and she was like "Help me" and I burst out laughing so hard. Omg. I think because I laughed she didn't get scared and didn't cry. Luckily she wasn't hurt either. And you know, she might not have cried at face-fiving her dad, but she sure did about the beetle that flew into the house when they were leaving later. lol She's terrified of bugs and her mom struggled to get her outside after that. I think she ran to the car.

| Aw, that's so cute. It's horrible, but kids can be so cute when they're hurting themselves...usually because they're having heaps of fun and you're watching them and smiling/laughing and they're laughing with you and take it just a bit too far and wind up getting hurt. I still get freaked out by bugs...well, moths really, but bugs too I guess. | |

| lmao Yeah I hate bugs. Though my niece... omg she's terrified of pretty much any kind of bug (except rolly pollies, but what kid is afraid of those? ). But the other day when she came over she found a baby lizard on our window and obsessed about catching it. I was a bit surprised because I've seen her react to bugs and thought she'd do the same about the lizard as well. Now, I wasn't *afraid* of the lizard, but I didn't like it being in the house. Anyway, my niece kept saying she was going to catch it. Nobody really believed she could. I just told her, "okay but make sure you put it outside". I came back about twenty minutes later and she'd caught the damn thing and was putting it outside. Me... I HATE silverfish. I find them seriously disgusting, like almost worse than cockroaches, and I hate it when I'm in the bathroom minding my own business and spot a silverfish near my feet or in my shower. ARGH. Luckily I don't find them often, but I feel temporarily violated until I've disposed of the thing. I really dislike sugar ants as well. We have them EVERYWHERE in my house. We have to be careful about where we put our food because they'll infest our kitchen like no other. Lately I've found them climbing on my shampoo bottles which seems absurd because as far as I can tell, bubbly soap is pretty much the only thing that will kill the little suckers (microwaves and bleach won't do it btw). | |

| Lol, I had to go look up what a roly-poly was. I was like "Since when is a forward roll a bug?" I stand corrected, it's not just a forward roll! Ok, it's cool what they can do, but still creepy looking.
Lol, I love that you've had enough sugar ants around to *know* they won't be killed by the microwave! Although, super annoying at the same time.
The most insect trouble I've had at home are cockroaches and spiders...lots of spiders.

| lmao And those are probably the deadly kind too. *shudder* I flip out if I find an ant (or a million) in my room. But you already know that. Though I really just hate all kinds of bugs. I grew up in the effing desert. The most we had were flies and june bugs, and not even that often. I think it was too hot for most insects to survive. Here in the US we are constantly bombarded by mosquitoes and bugs of all kinds, especially in the summer. This summer I've seen more june bugs than I ever have in my life. Can't leave the door open for too long at night or they all fly in. Omg I've nuked sugar ants in the microwave for like 5 minutes and they were still going strong. Ugh. I think they live in there. There's always ants in our microwave. It's so hard for me to clean though because it's on a wall unit and it's pretty deep and I'm a shorty with limited reach. lmao I couldn't figure out how to legit spell "roly poly" but I think you got it right. I've only ever said it, never had to spell it before. But yeah, I remember playing with those when I was a kid and a little less squeamish around buggies. lol I used to play with caterpillars as well... before I found out the fuzzy kind were poisonous. I stopped playing with most bugs after that. lol | |

| lol, I used to play with caterpillars too, but I knew to avoid the fuzzy ones. You learn young here what not to touch. Way too many things that'll kill you (I promise we're still a fun place to visit ... I had an American penpal once who said she'd never visit australia because too many things could kill her) | |

| lmao I think if I visited... I'd stick to the cities rather than go out on a hike or something. I'm not very outdoorsy. lol And there's probably less bugs hanging around. I think I'd be more afraid of the snakes and stuff though. I'd react to any kind of spider the same way, deadly or not if it was small enough, but I wouldn't know what to do if I encountered a snake. We've gotten a couple in our house a few times, but I've never had to deal directly with those. I have 3 brothers to take care of these kinds of things. | |
