What's everyone up to?

Haha. I haven't come across many snakes. You sort of forget they're around most of the year, it's only in summer that I worry about them. We were on holidays once, walking down this bush track to see a super cool waterfall, only we didn't make it down to the base because a tiger snake started to slither across the path. I was in front of my family and only *just* saw it (because I was watching the waterfall). We all sort of stopped really fast, stood still for a few seconds and slowly backed away. My dad wanted to keep going, but we (my sister, mum and I) voted against him. He's so out-numbered in my family, the women always win

oh my goodness ya'll...i love how we're all in-sync about everything! I was just coming on to post about my midnight adventure with creepy crawlers and ya'll are already talking about it. <3

So my incident, i've been having insomina but last night around midnight i was ready to go to bed. But then i looked on the window and i seen this big spider on the screen! I couldnt tell if it was on the INSIDE or the outside. So i jumped out of bed , put the light on and strain my eyes to see from the other side of the room ( no way am i going near it if it was on the inside lol) So i was fairly certain it was on the outside, so i creep over and thank god it was. I flick the screen , if falls ( and i secretly hope far since my window is the 3rd landing). I go back to bed satisfied and you know when someone is staring at you, you could just FEEL it, as if the heat from the glare is just blaring on you? Well i felt that! So i opened my eyes and the freaking spider is back, and it looked bigger than before! So i spent a half hour of so doing this game ( creeping over to the window and flicking the screen) but the little bugger kept coming back. I tired to ignore it, see if it would leave on its own , keep working its way up or something, but it just hung there, not even weaving a web, but it seemed the lil thing didnt want to do anything but stare at me. So i finally got up and closed the window. It was a little warm last night but not that bad to have the ac on so i want the window open. But i got fed up with that peeping tom spider.

Kim: You're dad might be out-numbered by 3 but mine is out-numbered by 4, cause I have 2 older sisters!

Tasha: Spiders are weird little arachnids! When I was 4 or 5 and I shared a room with my one of my big sisters, I woke up on night to see my sister holding a rolled up magazine and looked to where she was aiming and saw a HUGE spider! It seemed like it got bigger every time you looked at it! I was seriously freaked and I couldn't sleep at all the rest of the night. Luckily it was a Friday so I didn't have to worry about school.

tasha: OMG, I've had that happen to me before too! I'd been up late reading, turned off the lights and looked up at my window and there was a massive spider. Like you I couldn't tell if it was inside or out, but when I turned on my light it disappeared, turned the light off and it was still there so I knew it was outside. Couldn't get rid of it so I just freaked out and hoped it'd go away eventually. Wasn't there in the morning.

Rhia: My dad's out numbered by 4 as well, it's just that my big sister wasn't there when the snake was around.

lol Kim, but Tasha's spider probably wouldn't have killed her. Or maybe it would've... lmao How big was it?

I haven't come across any really big spiders. But omg, I remember this one time I hit a spider with something to kill it and a billion baby spiders came running out. Gross.

Lol, well I don't think mine could kill me. It was a pretty big spider and most of our scary ones are small. I'd be spooked if it was a funnelweb, they kill you in minutes, but I don't think I've ever seen one of them before. *knock on wood*

Kim: I find it hilarious that guys try to act all high and mighty, thinking that they're the center of the universe, when they wouldn't be here without women.

Ash: Did you ever notice that some spiders are actually very pretty?

I think creepy crawlers are only cute on like animal planet , far far away from my vicinity. :-)

Eesh *shivers* I can't even stand to watch them on tv. I HATE spiders.

Hope everyone in the states had a great 4th of July.

Can't believe I'm halfway though my winter break - feel like haven't done much.
Just caught up with some friends and seen some movies.
Just got a syllabus emailed to me for next semester. Wanted to to be complete holiday mode for a while longer.
Still haven't heard about the job - though I'd hear about it today.

Kim - how do you manage to read so many books and do all your uni work?

Libby: I hope you hear about the Job tomorrow. lol, well it was an arts degree, 12 hour a week of class time & lots of reading, but not much effort anywhere else. To be honest I'm never really sure where my reading time comes from, but since I'm enjoying myself I won't question it

Got an outfit for my interview today. I probably didn't *need* to buy a new outfit, but decided I would, and it meant I was able to hang out with my older sister while she's home for the holidays.

Libby- i hope you get the phone call! And when I was in college i found I had MORE time to read then when i was out of school( before all the family illness , i've been out of school for almost a year). I would read in between classes, waiting for classes to start, on the commute to school, waiting for friends, and in between assignments as a break and always I read a chapter or two before i go to sleep because otherwise i had nightmares about school work...especially when i was taking math courses ... i would have dreams of numbers and equations saying SOLVE ME SOLVE ME...ugh. lol.

(I can tell you now, I've survived without them so far) I also found time to read during the breaks between classes. It's like my favorite thing about college. lol That and hanging around the university bookstore and just chilling before class. Going back to more of that this fall.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow sending lots of good luck vibes... that's about the time I'll be taking my daddy to the hospital for his first doctors appointment. Oh boy it's gunna be an adventure. I'll have to push him around in a wheel chair while there cause he cant walk that much . It'll be my first time pushing someone in a wheel chair. When my dad was in a nursing home a year ago he had a wheel chair but i didnt have to push him far, like down a hall way and that was it. So i hope i dont crash my dad into a wall or run over anyone's toes. lol.

Tasha: Thanks *hugs* Lol, don't worry too much about the wheelchair, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. And if you do run into walls or over people's toes just act like they popped out of nowhere, eg. "Far out, where'd that wall come from?"

I haven't been on in what seems like forever. Sorry about that...
But I am done with my junior year of high school and entering my senior year come this August!

And, unlike the last time I was here, I am now a Certified Nurse's Aide
It sounds either really lame or something that's not too exciting, but to me, it's one of the greatest achivements of my life. I am now certified to be a healthcare worker. Hehe. Not the most glorious field, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere, right? I'm hoping I'll get hired at a local home.


Anyways, to answer the origial question/purpose for this...
I am currently sitting in my living room, watching/listening to the news, and thinking of more ideas for me to write.
Nothing exciting, but it's relaxing.

I dream about maths all the time. I tutor it. Taught logarithms today.
Didn't get that job. Not too bummed about it considering its a banking job.
I really don't see my self at a bank.

Ana- congrats on getting your nursing qualification.

Math was only fun when I had Mr.Welsh but he was my fifth grade math teacher so that's not gonna happen.

Ana- nursing certification is a big deal, congrats! My family wants me to take up nursing but i just dont see myself in that field... i simply dont have the bedside manner/patience needed for that type of job.

Libby-sorry you didnt get the job, but if u didnt really want it then it all worked out lovely. I have my fingers crossed you will get the job of your dreams!

I managed pretty good taking my dad to his doctors appointment today. The only incident was pushing him downhill towards the oncology building ....almost had a runaway hot wheels on my hands, but i managed fine. And he had fun being out of the house. I showed him around the hospital and he got to look at things. He was pretty happy.
