I read Wicca(Sweep) by Cate Tienan so I knew Immortal Beloved was going to be good. I agree the first one a pretty slow but the cliffhanger ending has me looking forward to #2.
I nearly forgot about Immortal Beloved! I wrote it down on my book list awhile ago but i haven't looked at my list in ages. I so want to read it because i was a HUGE fan of the Sweep series. I actually tried talking the hubby into buying me the whole series Sweep over for Christmas and he was on the verge of cracking but i got kind of mad because it was so frustrating tracking down the original covers- i just don't like the newer covers. But i have half of the original books i have the 3rd book and the 8th to the final novel. I've been dying to re-read the whole series though. Oh, i'm rambling now. But the point is, i want to read Immortal beloved- i think i would love it without even knowing much about it simple because of the author. lol. They're releasing the whole series in bind ups 1-3 + 4-6 etc.. Replacing the whole lot will probably be cheaper and easier to do if you want them to all look a like.

| Currently reading: Inside Out - Maria V Snyder. Haven't read too much yet, so haven't really got an opinion
Over the last couple of weeks I've read: Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare I am Number 4 - Pittacus Lore Matched - Ally Condie Nightshade - Andrea Cremer The Iron King - Julie Kagawa
I loved them all. I can't wait for sequels. I'm just glad I've managed to read 5 books in a row that I just adore. Hope Inside Out doesn't break the trend. (But Ash [dimkaluv] has assured me it's good, so *fingers crossed*)

| I LOVED Clockwork Angel and Nightshade! And Kim I highly reccommend The Iron Daughter. It's just as good as TIK. The Iron Queen comes out the end of this month. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Oh and The Irong Knight come sout sometime the end of the year. It's supposed to be Ash's story so I'm really excited for it. And I'm dying to read Wolfsbane (Nightshade 2) and Slockwork Prince.
I still haven't finished Matched. That's my goal for tomorrow.

| I really want to get the Iron Daughter, but there's a good possibility my parents will get it for my birthday, so I have to wait a week to find out before I go out and buy it myself. I love the idea of Ash having his own story. I loved Ash. I know! I'm dying for Wolfsbane. I hope there's lots of Ren. I loved him way more than Shay (Shay was boring) | |

Waiting for Matched from the library. Picked it up at Borders a while ago it sounded good. I haven't heard about the Iron King - what's it about?

| The Iron King: Meghan Chase has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined… Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart. It's a really good series. Kim-idk who I like better. - Spoiler:
I agree Shay is boring but Ren kind of bugged me for some unknown reason. My heart did break for him at the end of the book though. I hope we get a lot more of both packs and find out more about Shay and why the keepers wanted Ren and Calla to kill him. And why the hell did their master (can't remember his name) have her become friends with Shay when he knew what was to come. That was just cruel imo. And the whole masters making certain pack members do things got to me. It made me sick to my stomach. But overall I loved the book. Its one of my favs.

| Hmm I think you have the authors flipped around there Tania. Fallen by Lauren Kate and The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine Oh Kim, you should read the novella Winter's Passage before The Iron Daughter. It's set in between TIK and TID and it's pretty good too. It's only available as an ebook though. | |

I got into it really quickly, and loved the storyline...the main character, John, was a little wussy but not to the point where you hate him or anything. - Wilda85 wrote:

Wilda, - Spoiler:
Yeah, Logan pissed me off that way too. I mean, I guess he didn't think Calla would become so attached to Shay, but it was wrong to flaunt their "sacrifice" in front of the pack AND tell them he needed to be protected. Ren didn't ever piss me off really. I mean, he could have consulted Calla a bit more, since they were both alphas and maybe he could have been instructed to stay pure like Calla had to, but compared to his father and Efron, Ren was a pretty decent guy. Shay bugged me for pushing himself in Calla so often.

| I FINALLY finished Matched. My only regret is not reading it sooner! It's not one of my favs but I really liked it. It reminds me of The Hunger Games a bit like where The Society controls everything the same way as The Capitol did in THG. Thankfully there's no fight to the death competitions in Matched. It's definitely a must read though. I doubt I'll reread it but I will most definitely read the next book CROSSED which is due out November 1, 2011.
Next I plan on reading Torment.

I thought the Matched ending was a lot better than the beginning. I really liked the book, but it was sort of slow to start. But I LOVED the ending. Can't wait for Crossed.

| I agree. I guess that's why it took me so long to get past the first few chapters. It wasn't what I expected but I'm glad I forced myself to read it cause the ending was good. Can't wait to see what happens in Crossed. Any theories? | |
