| You should never feel like a geek re-reading a book Tasha I do it all the time when new books come along too. Even if I know the first book SO well, I always like to have the complete story so far saved to memory so that I don't have to go flicking through the last few books attempting to find that one tiny part that will make the rest of the new book make sense. (and you're right with Ashley being dimkaluv's name ) | |

You had it right!! My name is Ashley. I actually don't really have a hard time picking up *series* in between reading another series. Though yeah, I get what you mean about having more books on the list and waiting for those. I guess I consider RM's my *regular* series, and in between reading those I'm reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Hunger Games, the Touch series, GenDead, and a bunch of other series, all of which are not finished yet. So yeah, more waiting. While waiting for series novels to release, I actually have a harder time reading through single novels than series novels. I could finish off an entire series in a month (like last month with the BDB books) but it would take me about a month to get through one or two single novels. It doesn't help that I have a bunch of single novels on my TBR list that I'm probably never going to get through since the series novels keep coming at me!!

The Hollow tells about a girl named abbey who's just lost her bestfriend, Kristen, and then she met a mysterious boy in Kristen funeral, Caspian. This book was set in the town of Sleepy Hollow, that's why i like it ^^ And Wolf Totem is china-literature, i don't finish the book yet, but the synopsis tells it's about wolf n human relationship. oh ya i read in goodreads that this book is going into a movie...

| I'm the same way. I have to re-read the series before reading the new book. And Ashley I'm the same way. I have a harder time reading the single books rather than the series books. I breeze through the series no prob but the singles seem liek they take me forever.
I started reading Untamed (HON) yesterday and finished Hunted about an hour ago. Took me just over 24 hrs to get them both read. If it hadn't been for sleep taking voer my body I would ahve finished it during the night. Now I'm debating on reading The Van Alen Legacy (Blue Bloods) or not. I'm planning on buying Tempted tonight (if my husband doens't have to work) instead of waiting for 22 peopel in front of me to read it. I just simply can't wait that long lol...

I bought my sister Tempted for christmas and while I've been reading the HON novels I just can't get excited about them anymore. I think they're terrible books and at the same time I have to find out how they end...one day. I'm in no rush to read them though.

| I love them though. I like VA more, but HON has def become one of my fav series. I'm currently reading Tempted now. I still have the 3 wicked lovely books, The Van Alen Legacy, and Kissed by An Angel to read. On top fo those I have 5 more waiting to be picked up at the library tomorrow. 2 more of the Private books, the 2 Evernight Academy books, and Ramptant by Diana Peterfreund. Oh and I just ordered 7 books from barnes and noble that I couldn't find in the store or library-Succubus in the City and Succubus takes Manhatten by Nina Harper, Bite Me idr the author, and a series by Diana Peterfreund Secret Society Girl, Under the Rose, Rites fo Spring (Break), and Tap & Gown. I read Secret Society Girl and liked it so I ordered the rest of that series. I've got a lot of books to read... | |

| Lol, i agree with Kim about the HON books. It's quite annoying to me but i just love Stevie Rae and Stark. I read the series for them. I could care less about Zoey. I think the whole general story needs improving. This is my recap of the whole series without spoilers. Zoey has trouble deciding who she loves, zoey tries to save her friends, zoey almost dies, zoey consults her grandma, Nyx gives her a new tattoo, zoey saves the day.
Tempted, no spoilers, i actually enjoyed more because each chapter is written in a different perspective and since i enjoy the "sub " stories i got more out of the book. I absolutely love Stark too so that helps in reading. But, i do own the whole series and will be getting burned when it comes out. I just have to know what happens. It's kinda a love hate relationship. I guess i'm disappointed because this story has so much potential but maybe the author lacks the ability to take it there? Just a theory. But i do enjoy the world and most the characters and am invested in the story.

| I hate that there's a pattern with each book, and I'm so sick of the tattoo reward. For the last couple of books I've been reading them for Stevie Rae and Aphrodite, since I haven't read Tempted I don't know if Stark improves at all.
I think the story would be better if the character's seemed less fake, and if it wasn't dragged out so much. So little really happens in each book, if they combined 3 of the books together they'd have a really good story, and maybe I'd hate it less. But at the same time I will eventually read the entire thing, just so I can find out how it ends.
Currently reading: The Sweet Far Thing, by Libba Bray.
I just discovered another book coming out in March that I can't wait to read. I don't know how many non-Aussie's will know of this author (just because she's an Aussie herself and I don't know if her books have reached other countries at all) But Melina Marchetta has a new book coming out, The Piper's Son which is the sequel to Saving Francesca (my all time favourite Marchetta novel). The one book you might have heard of her's is Looking for Alibrandi (it was made into a film years ago and was super popular over here) Anyway, awesome author, I love her.

| I just started to re-read the ugly series by Scott Westerfield ( i'm pretty sure i misspelled his last name lol). I like the future-ism and world created in this series. But, i'm only reading it because i have nothing else to read. I really want to buy the rest of the PJO series and the rest of the Ranger's apprentice series but i'm saving every penny to pay my tuition. Well, i have a few single book novels, but i save those from when I'm busy and in school - novels are like my filler books, just read a few chapters here and there, whenever I can. Series are for my down time. lol | |

| Guys? Could you please use spoiler spaces? I've only read the first 4 books of HON and am waiting for book 5 from the library. I glazed over and tried not to read what you were saying about HON. Plus, there is also a thread for HON in this section. Right now, I'm reading The Harlequin by L.K. Hamilton. It's the 15th book in the Anita Blake series. NOT recommended for people under the age of 18! I read the first two books, and then had this one from a sale. I got a hard cover copy for just $1.99! I was told I could read the books out of order...but in a way, I feel a bit lost. I'll continue, I mean, I've started the book, I may as well finish it. | |

But i tried to write vague and spoiler free. I actually was going to buy some of those books but i decided against it. But i will eventually. Like you i would prefer to read them in order and thats kinda hard for me to do - buying the whole series at once- i have so many series to keep up with I can't bring myself to do that.

| May we please have the thread for Anita Blake's world versus House Of Night, before i crack like an egg, or worse? I mean, i have nothing personal against either of the casts of their worlds, but if both the main casts of either series must be total monsters, in all the wrong ways, then fighting them, each, would be just business[let alone making them bleed while beating them up is overtime working hours, but that's another story!] | |

I don't have anything personal against Blake's world, honest. So remove Nyx, and H.O.N has no hope, mainly due to being sleazier than V.A is, and the majority of the cast being stupider?

| I didn't read the messages carefully. I saw names from the books and went, "*Gasp!* Is that from the next book? Oh Noes! I don't want to be spoiled!" so I just scrolled past. But it's not just for me. There could be others here who aren't as active a poster as I am who may be in the same situation. You don't have to stop all discussion about the series. There is a thread for HON here. I would love to join in there once I've got caught up. - Quote :

If you want the thread, you can go ahead and start one. I just don't feel that I could participate fully given that I'm not finished reading the whole series of HON, and I've been jumping around with Anita Blake. Reading this 15th book is only the 3rd of that particular series for me. I would need to read more of the earlier books to be able to discuss with any intelligence those two 'worlds'.

They're changing the name of the series again. First it was Southern Vampire series. Then it was Sookie Stackhouse Series. Now they are officially changing the name to True Blood. Great. I can be even more confused now when talking about the show and the books. LOL.
