She looked very sickly, somehow, as if there was something about how pale she was, that sort of tricked me, lately. I happen to have reasons why she was abusing meds, but i would only reveal two of them, here, lest i feel like an idiot.
One, i couldn't be convinced if she was thinking clearly when she writes[although Jill would know that she was thinking at all, that much i agree with, but whether or not it was really clear thoughts, i'm not sure!] and two, if it turns out she was thinking clearly, there are times from which she shoots herself in the foot or leg, that i dare not recall, in here. I WOULD KNOW WHAT?

Is the wicked Lovely series any good? I've got them on my waiting list at the library. I just got done reading the first 3 books of the HON series yesterday and started reading Thirst. I'm expecting the next 2 books for the HON series to come in at the Library Tuesday or Wednesday so I'll read those next.

I love faerie books, they're just so cool because they're not your typical fluttery nice/gentle "fairy" stories. So I definiitely think it's good that you've got them on your waiting list.,

| awesome can't wait to read them. Have you read Wings by Aprilynne Pike? The faeries in it aren't evil but it's a good book and what has got me wanting to read about faeries good or evil Thirst is...interesting. It's not the best book I've read but it has kept my interest so far. I'm only on chapter 12 so I'll let you know more once I've read it all. | |

| Here's the sypnosis for Wings Aprilynne Pike's #1 New York Times best-selling debut, Wings, is the first of four books about a seemingly ordinary girl named Laurel.
Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
Laurel discovers she is a faerie, sent among humans to protect the gateway to Avalon. Thrust into the midst of a centuries-old battle between faeries and trolls, she's torn between a human and a faerie love, as well as her loyalties to each world. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever. From HarperTeen. Spells the second book releases in May also Wings is being made into a Disney movie which I'm excited about just not thrilled with who they have chosen to play the lead-Miley Cyrus I still haven't finished Thirst. I'm having a hard time getting through it. It's an ok read but I won't be re-reading it and I recommend borrowing it or getting it from the library first.

| Yeah, I wanted to read Fallen before I heard itr had twilight-y characters. I still might get it eventually, but I'm in no rush at the moment.
I just started reading 'Betrayals' by Lili St. Crow. It's the sequel to Strange Angels and so far it's really good

| hmm well from the sound of it I probably won't be reading wings anytime soon if at all. It doesn't sound like anything intriguing. And if the author of Fallen has twilighty characters I'm definitely not going down that road again. Does anybody know who was published first, twilight or fallen? Who ripped off who? lol! | |

| Lol! Actually that's the reason i got into YA vamp books. After reading twilight and then reading the true blood series i was like hmmmm because ( spoiler for those who haven't read the southern vampire series, sookie stackhouse series or true blood series whatever you want to call them.) - Spoiler:
Edward can read minds and Bella's mind is the only mind he cant read, with true blood, sookie is the mind reader and Bill is a vampire so she can't read his mind
... i was on a mission to see who ripped who off. But once i read VA i kinda didn't care anymore- it consumed my world. lol.

| lol yeah VA takes the number 1 spot for me too. I do like true blood though that's a good series. After VA i could care less about HON. I'm still reading the series but I'm in no hurry. I'm coming to the conclusion's that Sm ripped off a lot of people. As a writer I do realize how hard it is to try and be 100 percent original. It's a race against the clock to get your ideas out there first before someone else does so you don't look like your copying someone else. It is impossible to ever be 100 percent original even if your intentions are pure. But to blatantly Copy someone else's work is fraud in my eyes and unethical. Especially when it's obvious and you still try to deny it. uughgmmm Not naming names. | |

Somehow, though, i don't feel V.A is 100% original, either, aside from some descriptions, at least[and maybe trying to find a more creative way to get people to cheat death than using Necromancy, alone, for that matter!] On the other hand, i felt Cirque Du Freak is about 75% original, for the most part, at least, because C.D.F has epic kombat and a storyline.

RM said she doesnt even read other vamp books so if any similarities occur i think it's just a coincidence or people ripping her off. Like Tempted from the HON series - Spoiler:
I felt Tempted was mushing The moroi society with the vamp society of twilight. And even the way Heath died.. same exact way Manson died.
It's one of the reasons i love VA, i felt it's pretty original.

| AHHH I should have never read that spoiler! I've only read the first 3 books. I should have known better... and I'm staying out fo the whole Twilight argument. I love the twilight series and thats all there is to it... I am on the waiting list for Fallen from the library. I am disappointed that it's Twilight-ish though. I'm not big on reading copy characters. But i'll still read it cause there's a possibility I'll like it. The strange Angels one is one of the many books I want to read. I swear I have a list of like 100 books to read lol I'm almost done with Thirst. It's actually pretty good even though it's taken me several days to read. Usually I zoom through the books within a day or two. On to Untamed this weekend | |

| So sorry you've read the spoiler! I try to remain out of the twilight bashing because i was a HUGE fan of twilight and it is that series that got me reading again. I just try to emphasis there is better written/ quality books to be explored and not to remain stuck in a obsessional phase. The way i see, no harm in reading anything in general- be it good or bad. Reading is a positive thing and it just makes me so happy to hear, esp YA, are reading instead of other negative things. LOL, i have a list just as long. Actually i think i have a 100 YA books alone.. then i have a tons of other genre books I want to read. It sucks for me though because I like to read with books in my hand. Well i like to own the books i read. I have almost 200 books in my closet ( no book case lol) . my local library really sucks and is really is not up to date , so i dont even bother with a library card. I wish i had money to buy all i want to buy but i dont so i try to just up keep the series i already started and not get into new ones. It's frustrating. Thank God for holidays though. My brother got me 100 bucks worth of books of new series for Christmas. Which lasted me until now. I have 2 more books left ( PJO 2nd and 3rd book to read). I start school in a month so it wont be that bad for me... then my birthday I ask all my family and friends if they are going to get me something to pick from my book list. And i buy what i can on my own. I hate that none of my friends are readers. In highschool and even elementary school all my friends were readers and so we always had the chance to swamp series or novels. But now i'm all alone in my reading adventures. | |

| yeah My step mom and I are both big readers but it seems that every series she starts I've already read or am further along so I'm always the one that people borrow books from. I'm like the family librarian with my collection. Sometimes I'll get lucky and my sis in law who lives with us will buy some interesting books that I borrow from her. Thats always cool, she got me into Lissa McMann's wake series, and she bought dear John before I did so I got to borrow those. For the most part we have different tastes she's really into drug addiction books and I just don't find that kind of stuff very entertaining. I read crank series of hers and it wasn't my cup of tea. I wish I knew more people like me maybe they'd be ahead of me in a series for once. LOL! Oh well. I dare not ever calculate how much I spend on books a year. My husband knows not to question that either, it's an answer we probably wouldn't like. I blew through all my Christmas amazon gift cards in like three weeks. | |
