| lol, I sometimes forget mine are saved to my phone too, except my saved messages go to my outbox and when I go to delete space off my phone I find them again....usually not 4 months later. At least you sort of followed your reminders by getting the books you'd saved | |

lol, ordinarily I'd pick books over clothes, but sales are pretty awesome too.

| I just finished reading HON - Hunted. Now I've started "The Summoning" (?). It's by Kelley Armstrong. I got it at a used bookstore, I figured I would give it a whirl.
I also finally finished that Anita Blake book. Ugh. Don't get me wrong, the action at the end of the book was alright, but in general, I didn't really enjoy it. I'm sure a big part of that was not having read the 13 books in between the 2nd and 15th.

Was is the writing or the storyline itself that made you enjoy it less? I haven't read the Anita Blake books, but I've read some of Laurell K. Hamilton's other series, and I find the story drags out a bit and doesn't seem to have a strong plot half of the time (maybe that's just my opinion)

haha I'm one of the few who actually chooses books over clothes lol. You could always buy a book or 2 and spend the rest on clothes. I finished reading Shadowland Saturday night and took a break Sunday. I'm planning on starting Shiver today.

But you're right, the story did drag on a bit. And I'm a bit squicked out by the various relationships. I can't go into detail about the relationships here 1)because it would be a spoiler and 2) there are minors on this board and it's really, really inappropriate for audiences under 18.

Cool, so it's not just me who noticed the dragging, and having read her other series I can guess what you're talking about.

| Lets see I just finished Shiver by Maggie Steifvater yesterday morning. It was a really really good book and she is now an author I will follow through all of her books. The story is about a girl who is attacked by a hungry wolf pack when she is ten years old. One of the wolves in the pack steps in and saves her and from that moment on for the next six years her and the wolf that save her develop a strong bond. The story is written in both the girl's and the wolf's point of view about one another. When another local teenager is killed and his body goes missing the town decided the wolves pose to much of a threat and begin hunting them down. The girl Grace races in the forest to save them and discovers that someone has shot her wolf, but she also discovers that her speculation about the wolfs being shifters is true. Her wolf takes the form of a human boy when he is shot but there's a catch every wolf can only shift for so many years until they just remain in wolf form forever. This was supposed to be her wolfs last year to ever shift again, but being shot triggered his human form and now they have to race against his fate to try and keep him human as they fall in love. Eventually the clock will catch up to them though. I really really loved this book!!!! And highly recommend it.!
After that I started Willow by Julia Hoban I finished it late last night, not because it was great or anything I was just determined to hurry up and finish it. The story wasn't horrible but it was really annoying and at times hard to get through. If it weren't for the character Guy I couldn't have endured the book. I often times had to skip over Willows thoughts and just read the dialogue. Its about a girl that's like 16 who killed her parents in a car accident and had to go live with her brother and sister in law and their new born. The whole story focuses around the girl cutting herself. To me she the book read as one long huge pity party, and the girl swore the world was revolving around her. The ending sucked after enduring the book I was just hoping that willow would have just offed herself out of sheer irritation. There was a sort of twisted love story mixed in their but over all not worth the time. Unfortunately for me a bad book with a glimmer of promise is like a bad train wreck, I want to look away but just can't pull my gaze away. if your into that woe me sort of thing then yeah it's for you, but if you can't stand vapid conceded, depressing people then don't waste your time.
So those are my two sense of the books I read yesterday, I think I'm going to start before I fall by Lauren Oliver What if you had only one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?
Samantha Kingston has it all—looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12th should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it’s her last. The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. In fact, she re-lives the last day of her life seven times, until she realizes that by making even the slightest changes, she may hold more power than she had ever imagined. I have a bunch of thing to get done today so I might start it tomorrow, I'll let you guys know what I think.

| I'm trying to read on the Caretaker Trilogy, that happens to be by someone with the last name Glass, and i didn't realize Old-coot Riordan suggested the first novel, until later on.
I'm reading the first one, so Jill, have you got started on the trilogy, as well?

| DAVID KLASS wrote the Caretaker Trilogy, starting with Book 01, Firestorm!Would you believe me on two things, one of which that Rick Riordan recommends the trilogy, and the other is that its more epic than Gossip Girl? | |

| Hello everybody
It's been a long time I didn't visit the forum ! I was reading "Dark lover" from the Black Dager Brotherhood saga but I stopped because I had a lot of work. And I couldn't get back to the book because it wasn't so thrilling (except maybe the sex scenes ;-)) Now I'm reading "L'enfant des cimetières" by Sire Cedric. I'm not sure you now the guy (by the way, I love the name Cédric ! It's the name of the main character of the saga I'm writing !) and I don't think it's been translated into english (don't know how to translate the title : "the child from the graveyards", "the child and the graveyards", "the graveyards' child" ?). It's a wonderful gothic novel. For French speakers ! And of course, I just can't wait to read "Spirit bound" ! Bye !

Ondelinat I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood!! I only just got into it in January, but I've read pretty much the whole series so far. I actually really enjoyed Dark Lover and had to buy the rest of the series. I admit, DL wasn't my favorite but it made me curious about the rest of the Brothers. I loved the 3rd, 4th, and 5th books the most. Still reading #7. I've put it down for a bit but I think I'll get back into it soon. Yep. Waiting for Spirit Bound as well. Can't wait!! I'm really hoping Richelle comes back to Texas this summer. In the meantime though, I'm content to spend time with the Brothers. I have to say, the BDB is a good series to get into while you're waiting for books!! Only problem is... the series isn't finished so you gotta wait for even more books!!

| I finished Succubus Blues last night. It took me less than 12 hours to read it and I LOVED it. VA is still my fav though.
I just started reading Bite Me by Melissa Francis a few hours ago and I'm already at the half-way mark. It's by far not the best book but it's keeping me somewhat entertained.

| I just read Can you keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella She's the one who wrote Confessions of a shopaholic All her books are light comical easy reads. But for some reason I really fell in love with this particular book. SHe still has a few more that I haven't read yet.
Emma is a typical nothing special ordinary girl with a slight fear of flying. When she has to take a business trip to Glasgow and everything goes wrong. Emma is just not having a good day when she gets bumped to first class things just get worse as the flight takes an unexpected turn. Scared and about to die Emma divulges all her secrets to a total stranger. All her most embarrassing most intimate secrets are revealed in sheer panic. When the flight lands safely Emma's world becomes turned upside down as she experiences new revelations of the life she had been living so far. Secrets can be good but they can also be dangerous, and Emma learns this all the hard way. Struggling to climb up in a business that doesn't value her, struggling to impress a family that belittles her, Emma has to become more self aware and learn to stand up for herself and what she wants with the help of the one man she just wants to avoid. Emma faces the ultimate betrayal from the one person she truly cares for and betrays the trust of her best friend. Now she must pull herself back together. Will she get the happy ending she so desperately deserves? Well I was "Gripped" with this book from the start. The author really did great in making you feel all the emotions Emma experienced. As always Sophie's books are hilariously funny and riveting and captivating. By the way I just want to say I hate Kerry and her husband and had hoped that their wealth was just a facade and that they would go bankrupt in the end that would have been a happy ending for me.
