| I don't all those lines were in the book some were added into the screenplay. Not sure haven't read or seen twilight in months.
I think SM made Edward and Bella story too much Romeo + Juliet. She says that it was her inspiration for new moon.
Dimitri and Rose is much more realistic. | |

| i ever read one of readers who make a comment about this book. LOL I'm tottally agree with him. this is his comment: Save your time: here's the entirety of Twilight in 20 dialogue snippets & a wiggedy-wack intermission. First 200 pages: "I like you, Edward!" "You shouldn't! I'm dangerous!" "I like you, Edward!" "But I'm dangerous!" Next 50 pages: "I'm a vampire!" "I like you, Edward!" "But I'm a vampire! I'm dangerous!" "I like you, Edward!" Next 100 pages: "I like you, Edward!" "You smell good, Bella. I'm dangerous!" "I like you, Edward!" "Damn, you smell good." "I like you, Edward!" "Also, I glow in sunlight." Next 50 pages: A. VAMPIRE. BASEBALL. GAME. (I wish I was kidding) Last 100 pages: "Help me, Edward! I'm being chased!" "I'll save you!" "Help me, Edward! I'm scared!" "I'll save you!" "Oh, Edward!" "You smell good." (One half star for lack of quality, and one half star for being unintentionally hilarious... especially page 314.) http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/12639073 | |

Agreed, although i felt the 1st novel was decent, to say the least. In any case, is it just me?Or are we better off watching Capture The Flag with armies of half-mortals than Vampire Baseball? | |

Canon Sue? Posession Sue? Both are sort of the same but providing both links as they are intertwined. Even the Posession Sue quotes from the Twilight books! - Quote :
- However, if the character that appears is very obviously an Author Stand In (especially to such a degree that the character's back-story and the author's biography are practically interchangeable), believes in everything the creator believes, does everything the creator does (or wants to do) and is absolutely correct and perfect in both, is over-idealized and perfect to a fault, and/or (most importantly and required) seems as though the story exists only to further this one specific character (most often to the detriment of any other characters present, who simply cannot measure up to the author's clear favourite), you're in Mary Sue territory.
That quote chunk describes Bella quite a bit. From Bella sharing Meyer's Mormon ideals about being a good wife/girlfriend, is pretty beyond belief, her only real flaw is clumsiness, every girl is either envious/jealous or not worth Bella's time and the whole Twilight series was written with the character in mind. Mustn't forget Edward too. He fits the role just as well and he did demand a book to be written about him by S.Meyer.
-----
God Mode Sue? - Quote :
- God Mode Sue is so powerful because he or she often gets New Powers As The Plot Demands, and without any explanation or any of the normal limitations that a good writer will insert.
Could use a variety of examples as to why Bella fits... Edward unable to read her mind. She becomes a perfect (super)vampire without any trouble adapting. Suddenly able to have a child with a vampire. Although she isn't exactly the hero type, so I guess she only shares certain conditions to a God Mode Sue.
------
Purity Sue? - Quote :
- It is a character that is intentionally made by the author to be overtly positive. They almost never have any flaws that actually impact them in a way that truly matters, usually going for endearing traits such as "clumsiness" or naiveté, instead getting overloaded with overwhelmingly positive but largely passive traits (i.e. beauty, innocence, etc.).
Everybody loves Bella, unless you're a b***h. She's perfect and lovely and ultra pretty She was the centre of attention when she first moved to Forks with all the human male character mentioned falling head over heels for her without Bella doing anything except sit quietly and whine in her head about how awful all this attention is. Also Edward kind of, in that he only had to walk into a room and look broody for Bella to fall utterly "in love" with him.
-----
Relationship Sue? Edward and Bella... and Renesmee Too many things I could quote in the entry so I'll just let everyone look at the link for themselves. Also don't forget to look further down in the link, there is a Twilight entry.
----
Sympathetic Sue? - Quote :
- But Sympathetic Sue's unhappy past doesn't really match up with how much she angsts over it. Often, it doesn't even have any real permanent implications. She'll talk about it constantly and as soon as possible, often blatantly ignoring all the positives in her life.
Bella, Bella, Bella, Bella! Although Twilight isn't mentioned this is still her. "Oh woe is me Forks is horrible and rainy. This truck is rubbish. That guy I don't know won't give me any attention! Edward left me, my life is over!"
---- Now the fun link where you get to take notes and compare the Twilight characters. MarySue Traits Have fun here. Wonders of epic Quoting! | |
