| That"s right. ↑↑↑ He wouldn't be around for a long time. & as much as it hurts me, I also agree that he can't be changed back. I believe he will die. | |

| Mason couldn't stick around for very long but lissa's family died years ago and yet she was able to still see them. Some how they managed to break that 40 day rule. | |

| Richelle said that the ghosts stick around when they die violently and are not yet at peace. Mason was probably part of the 40 people, but pushed the boundaries a bit when he realised Rose would be in danger if he didn't warn her of the attack. But technically he wasn't seeking revenge or anything along those lines because he had been trained to deal with Strigoi death. Yes, it's not the best way to go, but in his mind he'd probably be saying "Well, by dying I helped protect Rose, Eddie, Mia and Christian." his death was still worth something. Lissa's parents and the others she saw died a terrible deaths and they're likely to have not dealt with it yet. She saw Victor's guardians, who obviously now have it in for Victor for getting them killed, the children of the first strigoi attack at the Badica house who I believe probably didn't understand why they had died therefore being unable to move on, and Lissa's family. (at least those were the ones she recognised). | |

| same here. the ghosts rose saw on the plane would have stayed longer than 40 days, because they died violently or something. but so did mason? i think in BP rose will be using the ghosts more to her ability. | |

Yeah, I know he died violently. But like I was saying before he was already aware that his life might end that way. So during those 40 days he's likely to have come to terms with dying at the hand of a strigoi and been able to move on.

| I didn't know Richelle posted the first chapter. I just finished reading it -- it's nothing really...=/
Well...nothing really happened I mean.. Man, I was hoping for something exciting, but instead, the chapter ends right when it gets interesting.

| ^ Yeah, it was disappointing, to be honest. =/ Hopefully, the full book will be better, however, I did not like the first chapter at all. | |

| I disagree, I think she gave us a lot. Personally I think it was better than the frst chapter of Shadow Kiss (which if you'll all look back on ended just when Rose saw Mason in ghost form...once again the good stuff happening in the last few lines). At least with Blood Promise's first chapter we have the setting for the new book, what Rose has been doing for the past few weeks, the introduction of a new character and then an exciting cliff-hanger of sorts. | |

| I agree, i mean were on what 14-15 pages in this thing from the first chapter of blood promise. we couldnt have done that if she didnt give us anything, i think we got just enough to tie us over for a month. | |

| You're right, Kim -- the first chapter of Shadow Kiss wasn't any better than the first chapter of Blood Promise. I think it's the same for all the Vampire Academy books, the first chapter is always boring (for me atleast). Near the end of the book is usually when it gets interesting , so I'm hoping its the same for Blood Promise. lol, I don't think this post made any sense but.. I hope you get what I mean. | |

Which is exactly what RM was going for, I imagine. You wouldn't want to give too much away a month before the book came out. - Quote :

lol, I don't think this post made any sense but.. I hope you get what I mean. It made sense to me And I don't find the first chapters boring, just scene-setters. Most of the time we get a replay of what happened in the last few books and an explanation of their situation. But it's the same with all books in a series, they all do that, in order to remind you of what's happened so far for those who aren't quite as obsessed as we are and don't know the book back-to-front

| i think that the chapter RM put up on her website has actually done heaps. - introduced a new character that will most likely play a part in the book - set the scene - explained some of the things that had happened recently and more stuff like that. i think RM has achieved exactly what she wanted by posting that chapter, and after reading the cliffhanger we obviously want to read more. | |

I dunno, I guess I was expecting so much more, and just got a little disappointed with this chapter. It helps, to you know, have a recap of the last book, but that's not exactly what I've been waiting for. Still can't wait for the book though.

| ^ Haha, yeah I mean...I wasnt criticizing Richelle's writing or anything...I was just saying that the first chapter was a little boring for me. But I'm sure the rest of the book won't be boring --- especially after reading the cliffhanger at the end of the chapter. | |

| I also agree chapter 1 in BP was a little boring but i agree with loove_dimka that it was introducing major characters, part of the scene in the plot, and it also explained a lot that has happened. i do believe the rest of the book will be interesting and full of action and drama:D | |

| OK, so you know how you were saying that you don't think that Rose will go Strigoi? You were forgetting that Strigoi have massive compulsion abilities. I think that its still possible that Dimitri talks her into going strigoi. I think that Spirit Bound might mean that someone goes after Rose once she's strigoi, and kills her, so she bound for the world of the spirits, because bound doesn't just mean attached, it can also mean headed for something. I don't know, I'm just throwing another option out there. No clue what the sixth book would be about, if she did get killed, though. I hope she doesn't get killed, though. | |
