First chapter of Blood Promise on RM's website

I definitely think there's something we don't know about Strigoi. A common direction I've noticed in most of the series is that Rose's previous ideas about certain subjects (ghosts, strigoi working together with humans to strike in daylight, wards being the safest thing they know etc.) are constantly being questioned; so why shouldn't the same thing happen with regard to Strigoi?

Yep I agree with you both..there are a lot of things about Strigoi we don't know.
Spirit is a strong element..but your right I don't know if it is strong enough. I know we are all hoping it is..but maybe it's not.
I still wonder with the 5th book being called Spirit Bound..maybe it has something to do with Rose and being shadow kissed. Maybe she will go to the shadow land ( or whatever its called) and getting Dimitri's soul so he can have his humanity back. With Lissa and Adrian's help maybe between the three of them they can save Dimitri.

What if.. and i know this is a longshot,
But what if Dimitri is saved and becomes like Lissa and Adrian?
Or if by Adrian sarcrificing himself so Rose can be with Dimitri,
Adrian forfeits his powers to Dimitri?
And then Adrian may become human and Dimitri a spirit user?
Or..
Dimitri is dead right? Hes the walking dead.
And so was Rose when Lissa saved her after the car crash.
What if when/if Adrian tries to help Dimitri
Dimitri becomes Shadow Kissed just like Rose
And is therefore bound to Adrian?
It could happen.

I dont think Adrian and would save dimitri and become Linked with him. could you imagine the tourture it would be being sucked into his mind when hes doing stuff with rose. way to much torture...

really hope no1 dies. we cant live without any of the characters!

i totalu agree that dimitri can't leav the books altogether he is basicaly the base ofthe sotory he is rose's soul mate and lissa is rose's spirit mate and some how adrian has to fit in with the story otherthan just being in love with a girl he can't have for various reasons he is going to find some one he loves but i don't think he will ever completly over rose he does love her and she finally realiaes it in the end of shadow kiss

Well if they were shadow kissed the way rose and Lissa are it will only go one way. Adrian won't know what Dimitri is thinking but Dimitri will know what Adrian thinks and feels. I think it might be kind of funny and unnerving for Dimka at the same time to know how Adrian feels for Rose. I think it would add a new element to the story line.

I don't like that idea much, but I think it'd be better than anyone else dying. Not sure I can take much more of that.

Yes I agree..I think we have all become quite attached to all the characters. It would be interesting to see how Dimitri would cope with Adrian. I think the biggest reason they don't like each other is because they both love Rose.

I hope there is some way to change Dimitri back. Maybe he can be changed back..but for some reason he can't be with Rose..IDK..

I think Rose would find a way to be with him. I mean we all know that she really doesn't want to kill him..but given his wishes..and how she feels about strigoi..there is no way she will let him turn her.

I know I have attached to all the characters in VA. But I don't really see Dimitri and Adrian together as friends.

And I also hope Dimitri can be saved.

no I don't want Dimitri or Adrian becoming friends. It's not possible to be friends and have the same love interest. Becoming friends would be a nightmare, Edward and jacob all over.

They would probably be hypocrite in front of others.

It would just not follow the whole plot of VA.

I like their relationship to continue as bitter sweet rivals.

So do you guys think Rose is going to make a new best friend in Sydney? That's what Richelle insinuates in her description. In describing Sydney as her new reckless friend. Maybe Sydney dies. Since we're all so attached to the other characters maybe she brought in a new character to kill off so that no one we really care about will die. I don't know. Adrian does need a new love interest if he can't have all of rose. But if he truly loves rose (Which I hope he does) then that would be futile for him to be with anyone else.

That part in the description is still describing Lissa. I can see how it's easy to get confused though. It's not that Rose gets a new best friend, though I think she definitely deserves more than what Lissa gives her. There are a lot of changes happening with Lissa right now. She needs to be on her own. Naturally she will probably be doing some things a bit recklessly, like she did in book 1 with compelling people at school to get them off of Rose's back. She's taking more initiative to get things done instead of waiting for someone else to take care of it for her. And maybe when we see Lissa in BP she'll be doing things that go against Moroi society? Isn't that what it's all coming down to anyway? That the Moroi need to change if they want things to be better?

she may be the one to lead rose to dimkas town in Siberia.
and think about richelle mead okay?
im sure she realises that if she kills dimitri off that migght stop people reading the book right there.
shes smarter to kill him off competely - althrough she may still kill him.
rose is shadow kissed, and therefore when out of VA grounds and other places she can see ghosts.
what if rose does kill dimitri in this book, but he becomes a ghost like mason did.
therefore he becomes spririt bound and rose is haunted by him?

I like that theory in order to understand the 5th book's title. I kept looking at the title as something similar to "Shadow Kiss" but (of course) "Spirit Bound" isn't limited to the land of the living.

No, I doubt she'll be able to have a relationship with him. I don't think that would be possible. But she might be able to interact with him, get information. Mason helped her through one sitatuion, maybe Dimitri will be her guide from the other-side permanently?

I LIKE SECRET MAGIC'S TAKE. WITH DIMITRI BEING HER GUIDE FOR LIFE. BUT SHE'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO MOVE ON WITH HER LIFE AND THAT WON'T BE A VERY HEALTHY EXISTENCE FOR HER UNLESS THERE IS SOMEWAY TO BRING HIM BACK AFTER HE GUIDES HER. OR MAYBE HE GUIDES HER AS A GHOST UNTIL THE END WHERE SHE DIES A MEANINGFUL DEATH AND HE'S THERE WAITING FOR HER IN THE AFTER LIFE.

I'd like to think he'd wait for her to die too, but part of me thinks he wouldn't be able to stick around that long. Rose would have to deliberately not look into his death so that he'd be able to stick around, because only those who have not been able to move on seem to be capable of lingering in the land of the living.
