I think RM named her Sydney because she couldn't think of anything she liked better. And it was the name that won the contest she had for specifically naming the character.

well I can safely say I don't like the name. So far the character itself seems fine enough, but she better have a nickname, otherwise I might have to start calling her Alchy and leave it at that.

I hope she is a good character , not a pain in Rose's bum .

I personally don't mind the name. I think it's kind of cool. I can actually see it fitting the character. Though I guess that's just me.

I want her to be someone who joins Rose on her Dimitri hunt. That would be cool, and she'd be less likely to guilt her into going home.

I only don't like it because it's my City.

So far she has an attitude . Rose is a bitch and if this chic is another one ......BOOM!

By the attitude Sydney showed to Rose in Blood Promise, I do agree with the 3 of you that they might have some conflicts against each other. But somehow I think she [Sydney] will help Rose find Dimitri.
Hey, maybe they'll also become close friends. Wow. I want to read the rest of the book already.

I hope she will help Rose find Dimitri too! I guess she knows the city pretty well, so she can probably help Rose get to the dhampir town.

I actually get the impression she doesn't know the city all that well. She might know a few of the Royals and her way around the immediate area, but she said she thought Rose was a test, to make sure she was fitting in and she also has the American accent. I think she's new to whatever position she's in.

i agree. and how much use is she going to be if she is knew to the area? suppose if she can speak russian that will help. either way i think she will be a important character. although rose is my favourite, i find myself wondering. while all this is going on what will lissa be doing? any theories?

Well, I suppose Lissa might be worried for Rose but maybe for now she's just continuing her normal life in the academy, after all she's close to graduating. I don't think she left the academy to go look for Rose in Russia.

And by what I read on Blood Promise, hasn't Rose been away from the U.S for a long time already?
