| I haven't seen it in any stores though, so I have no idea if we've really got it early (except for the Kobo thing)
Keep me updated on your LB progress. I think it's my fave Morganville book, everything was just so intense. It's awesome.

| I LOVED Iron Knight. It was a pretty awesome book. Lots of action (Ash) and fun/silliness (Puck)...only downside was not enough Meghan. Finished Shatter Me on saturday. God I can't wait until you guys read it so we can discuss Reading more of 'Lover Unbound' (Black dagger Brotherhood #5) ... going to try and finish it this time, instead of starting and pushing it aside. | |

| I was reading about Shatter me on a readers blog the other day. How is it? I'm unsure about it. Too many dystopian books coming out these days. Started Delirium weeks ago and only got past the half way point today.
Has anyone read Crossed yet?

| It does seem like dystopia is the new vampire these days, but I really like them. Shatter Me was really good, I had a few issues with the writing techniques (there was a lot of strike-through text and repetitive words/lines without commas) but it was a pretty interesting storyline. On goodreads it's described as "Hunger Games meets X-Men" ... I've never seen X-men, but I can guess where that comparison comes from. It was a bit more dramatic at the start/middle, the end was a little slower, but it sets the story up for a good book 2. I would definitely recommend giving it a go. I was just glad it lived up to all the hype (for me, at least). I hate seeing books get HEAPS of rave reviews online and it turn out they're not that good. (I had that experience with Across the Universe by Beth Revis, I really didn't like that book)
Because of the lack of bookstores around here I haven't even spotted Crossed anywhere. I want to read it, but I'm not desperate to find it yet.

| I can't wait to get my hands on Shatter Me so I can finish reading it. I shouldn't have read those 15 chapters, but I'm glad I did. I don't think I would have given it a chance if I hadn't. I should get it sometime Friday. Thats the only down part to preordering : /
Kim, I actually liked the strike through. For me it gave the words more meaning. I really like Tahereh Mafi's writing style.
Libby, I have Crossed sitting on my shelf, but I haven't read it yet.
Halo was really good! I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I want to read the sequel to it, but I have a few other books to read first : /

| Wilda, I actually didn't mind the strike through all that much, but the first half of the book has at least one line with strikes every 2 pages (sometimes a lot more) the second half it's only thrown in occasionally. It's like Juliette instantly changes her way of thinking. You want a character to develop and change, but maybe by the end of the second book she'd be more certain about what she's thinking, not by the middle of the first book. That was my only issue with the strikes.
Enjoy the Shadow Reader.

| I've had across the universe on my shelf for 6 months I think. Dunno if its worth reading though. What was so blah about it? Just finished Delirium. Didn't like the ending very much. - Spoiler:
Really no surveillance at the Crypt - you're kidding me. Not sure if I'll read the sequel. Maybe read the ending of the last book to find out of Lena and Alex live happily ever after. The setting has so much potential but it wasn't utilised.
Had a flick though Shatter me at the bookstore still not sure about it. Looked at crossed too and its look interesting with Ky narrating as well. Wondering what I should read next the Great Gatsby or Embrace?

| So I was checking out the list of top selling new releases in NZ for the year. Passion (Fallen 3) was ahead of Bloodlines. WTF! Hated Fallen. Can anyone explain why its so popular? | |

| I like Fallen but its definitely not one of my favs. I haven't even read Torment which is sitting on my shelf and I have no desire to read Passion. Idk why so many people love it as much as they do.
Currently reading The Coven by Cate Tiernan and planning on starting Crossed today as well.

| My cousin wants me to read Fallen, he reckons it was awesome; but I know so many people who thought it was average or really didn't like it. So I'm torn about reading it. The only positive I can see is that it probably wouldn't take too long to get through. | |

| I'll be honest, it's an ok read while your in between series and all but it's definitely not one I'd choose reading over something else. If your bored and don't ahve anything to read I say go for it. Maybe you could borrow it from someone instead of buying it. That way, if you don't like it then you haven't wasted any money on it.
Started Crossed. It's ok so far. I forgot how light the writing is. I like it but at the same time, I'm bored. Hopefully it'll pick up soon.

| That's what I've been doing. I've had my neighbour's copy of Fallen in my room since Feb. but I just can't bring myself to read it because I've had so many others that I actually want to read. I don't think I'd want to buy my own copies, I've got friends who own them if I want to read them sometime in the future, I'll borrow it from them. | |

| I don't blame you. The only reason I own Torment is b/c I won it off of a blog. I'm going to read it. Eventually. But right now theres too many others I'd much rather read. | |

| Across the Universe has a good concept: cryogenically frozen scientests travelling to a new world, but the ship starts running out of fuel early and then the frozen people are being mysteriously defrosted and dying. See, cool concept. But I found the beginning to be REALLY slow, the relationships were weak, I couldn't work out how they were together. There were only like 4 sane characters and one of them actually wasn't that sane, but he was my favourite character. The middle of the book got a bit more interesting, but then the end had this crazy twist that was MASSIVE and should have had all this consequences, but it was just brushed over like it wasn't important. And then I find out it's a trilogy. I have absolutely NO IDEA how the story is going to continue, it pretty much seems impossible. I know people rave about the book, there are so many fans that say how awesome it was and how much they loved the main characters Amy and Elder, but I couldn't make myself like it. | |

| I've put off reading ATU b/c you disliked it Kim.
I read a really good book called Sterling by Dannika Dark. It's available on amazon for $0.99 I've had it for a couple weeks now and finally just broke down and read it. The only time I really stopped reading it was to go to bed. I could barely keep my eyes open by then and I picked it up as soon as my daughter left for school this morning.
Sypnosis from goodreads:
Zoë Merrick leads a less than ordinary life. Late one evening, she crosses paths with a man who brutally attacks her. In one shattering instant--a stranger with a knife alters the course of her future. Unconscious and covered in blood, Zoë is found by a man named Adam. She undergoes a physical transformation, and strange new abilities begin to surface. Without hesitation, he takes her under his wing and an unexpected friendship forms between the two. Unable to return to her former life, Zoë feels lost. Serendipity leads her to Justus. He is handsome, arrogant, and not entirely human. Justus gives her the truth she has longed to hear--that she is a Mage. He offers her answers and protection, as a young Mage cannot survive on their own. Forced to trust him, she must come to terms with accepting her new life and identity. When her immortal freedom is threatened by the one man who has a right to claim her, Zoë learns the price of freedom...and the value of loyalty.
I think I am going to go ahead and take Crossed back to the library. I'm only 62 pages into it but its so slow that its just not keeping my attention atm. I'll finish it someday. Maybe when the last book is released and I can read them back to back.

| I think I'll subject ATU to the 50 or 100 page test. I won't bother finishing if I don't get into it.
Sterling sounds really interesting. Vampires?

| Libby: Lol, I use the page test a lot too, but usually I end up finish the book anyway. I can't bring myself to give up on books, it just takes me a while to read the crap ones because I think of better things to do instead. Wilda: I'm with Libby, Sterling sounds pretty cool! I've almost finished 'The Shadow Reader' by Sandy Williams. I'm loving it...I'll be sad when it's finished because the second book has no release date, although it did just get a title release today: The Shattered Dark. Sounds like a cool title to me | |

| Currently reading Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood #6) and The VA Ultimate Guide...technically I don't need to read that, because I already know what happens in VA, but there are quizes in it and litlle Q&A sessions with Richelle, so I'm getting my VA fix on.
