What are you currently reading?

Hey guys. Just thought I'd let you know that today only the folks behind the book Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi are allowing people to read the first 25 chapters on facebook. It ends at 11:30 pm tonight (I think PST but I could be wrong). There's still plenty of time to get hooked though.

They've also been announcing winners of their 100 ARCs giveaway. I think there's still time to enter, so you better hurry!! You have to "like" the page in order to see the chapters/giveaway.

OMG! I just finished those 25 chapters and when the page wouldn't scroll anymore I screamed in frustration! I knew I shouldn't have read it. That book is like a drug. It's addictive. Now I'm dying for November 15th to get here so I can finish reading it. 3.5 freakin weeks to go That was an evil thing of them to do! post just enough chapters to get us addicted then stop it once it gets really good. Pure freakin torture.

Thank you for posting all the info though Ash. I would be missing out on an incredible book if not for you.

EDIT: chapter 26 is up on barnes and noble's website and it leaves off at an even more torturous place!

The chapters must be pretty small if they gave you the first 25. I'm sort of glad I didn't find the time to read them if it was that addictive and makes you desperate for the next chapters.

Aww crap. I read all 26 chapters and now I'm dying!! Gah... can November 15 come sooner?

I knew I shouldn't have read them all. But it got hard to stop around chapter 11.

So apparently Shatter Me comes out in Australia tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm not going anywhere near the shops tomorrow until (maybe) Thursday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Shatter Me, Reckoning and Last Breath are in stores on Thursday...even though I have no idea which book I'll read first.

What?! We still have to wait another month for Shatter Me!! *pouts* I'm officially envious of you Aussies. *jealous grumble*

If you do pick it up (which you should of course ) and start reading it (which you also should lol) let me know how you like it. From what I've read I really enjoyed it so far.

I have no idea if we're actually supposed to get it then. The publisher's site says "November" (no date) but the Aussie Borders website (and email they sent me today) says "26/10/11" So I'm a little confused. Chances are they won't turn up in my stores until next week anyway, so who knows? I think if I pick it up with 'Reckoning' and/or 'Last Breath' I'll be reading them first though. I have to finish the Strange Angels series and can't pass up Morganville.

Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier. I picked up 'The Iron Queen' today. I've been putting it off for ages and figured I should probably read it since 'The Iron Knight' is out now. Well, out in the US; it's not out here until next week, Nov.1 I think...everything's coming out that day.

Crossed comes out on the 1st too Kim. At least here it does. Everything seems to either come out Nov. 1st or Nov. 15th.

I saw The Iron Knight in the store today. I came SO close to getting it but I decided to just wait. I have too many books on my shelf to read right now and they are all library books. So they have to come first. If I wouldn't have put them off, I'd be reading The Iron Knight right now *sigh* Lesson learned.

Yeah, Crossed comes out the 1st here too, but I'm not as desperate to get it as the other books. I might put Crossed on my Christmas list or something, it can wait until December.

Silence was alright. I liked Crescendo better. There was a lot of repetitive scenes.

Sweep read is 31st Oct/1st Nov I think. At least that's when we planned to start it.

Yep Oct. 31st/Nov. 1st which ever idc. Do we want to make a seperate topic for it and discuss it or just read it at our pace pace? I've never done a read along before and I've seen on mundie moms blog that they do like a chapter a day or something like that idk.

I still haven't started Silence. Honestly, I don't have the desire to read it atm.

I was asking Ash the other day if we should start a topic/thread for it! Great minds Wilda Well I wouldn't suggest a chapter a day, they're sort of short and there are a lot of them. The first book (Book of Shadows) has 22 chapters (I know most of you ladies have the 3-in-1 editions, but the chapters don't change ) So maybe 5 chapters a day. My edition only have 187 pages so it won't take people long to read the book...but I know we all have outside commitments that might interfere with reading.


EDIT: I made a thread...it's easier that way, and we won't have to scroll through other posts to discuss the book then.

has anyone read the Hunger Games? loads of my friends at school are reading it.

The Hunger Games is a really good Ela. The first movie comes out in March I think.

5 chapters a week is good. Only 35 pages the first week.

Yay, I found Reckoning today! Now I have to read Last Breath really fast so I can move onto R. Have to find out who Dru picks: Chris or Graves.

I've been thinking about picking up Strange Angels. How would you rate them compared to VA or Morganville?

VA is WAY better, I'm not sure much beats VA in terms of vampire books. I like it about the same as Morganville, but they're completely different. M's fun and addictive, easy to enjoy, and you don't have to worry about love triangles driving you mental. Strange Angels is darker and has a tough love triangle (still have no clue who will win that one). At times SA can be a little repetitive, but the last book (Defiance) had a really intense ending, so I'm desperate to see how the series ends.

Just finished Reckoning (last Strange Angels book) and it was pretty good. I loved all the action and there were A LOT of twists in the book...only downside was the romance. Typical love triangle throughout the series, but it ended oddly. Still trying to decide how I feel about it.

So Shatter Me must really be out in Australia already (even though I couldn't find it the other day) because it's on Kobo as an ebook today. I could buy it, but I think I want it as a real book, so I won't.
