What's everyone up to?

No specific date set for surgery.. at least no one cared to tell me if there was. I'm a bit frustrated. Im the last to know everything. My family either ignores my phone calls or keeps hanging up on me. Like my mother just know "oh your father has a visitor call u later click" I'm not asking for hours conversation. Just tell me my dad is alright and any latest news. Relieved to be heading home soon and not have to deal with the telephone game. As far as i know they hope to transfer my dad this week if the infection is better so he can have surgery

Geez, thats rude. The least they can do is take a few mins and you update you -___-

I'm back home and incredibly sad about that. ANd i had a bad home coming. We took the air train that takes you from the airport to the regular subway. only we got on the wrong way so that added an extra 20 mins to our trip. When we actually got to the house, my room was a mess. My brother apparently trying to be nice, changed my ac filter but he made a mess and there was dust ever where and the shelf directly under was in bad shape. ANd that shelf had important , the hubby's medicine box. And some new stuff. We spend 20 mins cleaning. I cleaned RIGHT before i left so the reason i knew we would be tired. Then, i sorted our mail and one of the bills send the hubby's name to a collection agency. I'm so pissed. I've been calling all the bills every time i received a notice cause medicaid takes a few months to be approved.ANd its been approved and i called all the bills before i left giving the medicaid id number. Everything was suppose to be okay and taken care off when I left. So i'm pissed about that. And I heard from my brother that my dad is not as well as my mother told me... that he rarely has cognitive conversations and mostly is out of it majority of the time, so i'm anxious to see him. Also the hubby has appointments pertaining to his cancer treatments and i just can't be two places at once. While the hubby is doing good physically and mentally, he still needs assistance. He cant remember things, he gets confused and he doesn't remember things all too good . He gets nervous under pressure now and especially with his doctors. Thats why i was with him, i'm the pushy one and pick up the slack for him. But, my dad needs someone with him everyday so i just dont know what to do. And also we checked the bank and we are really really reallllyyy low on funds. We might not have the money for my train fair to go see my daddy and for transportation for all the hubbys appointments.

SO not a nice homecoming lol. But i'll be okay one way or another. Things work out in the end somehow. So i'mma keep my head work and tackle one thing at a time.


The first thing i did after cleaning up the mess in my room was pluck my eyebrows and then did my nails and toe nails. lol. Im off to sleep now.

ah Tasha, I'm sorry you didn't have a good homecoming. And I'm so sorry about everything, but I'm a firm believe that everything will work out somehow someway. Just try and stay positive. HUGS!

I had a crazy day today. Hectic. My daddy called me early early early morning and woke me up. I had to call all those bills and i got the collection agency one straightened out. Just one bill says medicaid isn't paying it so i gotta go get that sorted which i will tomorrow. Imma go with the hubby to his hospital and his appointments and while there go the medicaid office. My mother is taking off a work tomorrow cause they are hoping to transfer my daddy to the bigger hospital. SO she is spending the day with him

But i'm hoping to go see my dad early morning for an hour or so but i'm SO tired i dont know if i can wake up.

After i was on the phone with bills i went and spent the day with my daddy. He is better with me than everyone else. He is still ill. But he isn't as mean or grumpy when I'm with him. He called me a godsend a million times and told me he is happy I"m there with him and he feels better just having me back. Awe. He was all excited to look at the flyers i bought him and he loved the t-shirt i bought him. He was really good mentally and from my understanding from his doctors , he wasnt like that before. He did start acting up when i was leaving but i understood why. People kept waking him up, and he stood up most of the day way past his usual cause he was all excited I was there. I woke himup once cause his legs were falling off the bed. Then my sister came by and i woke him up again. ANd then a doctor came by and woke him up. And then the nurse came with medicine and thats when he got mad and started acting up. But i tried to talk him down, but he worked himself up into a fit. But i bought him ice cream and he calm down to eat it and i left, my mother was just walking in and she stayed with him until a little while ago when he went to sleep for the night.

So, i'm hoping to see my daddy tomorrow morning for a little bit.

Thats great that he's better with you there Tasha Glad you are getting things straightened out with the bills. Thats the last thing you should have to deal with atm. I know I've said this before, but I've gotta say it again. I REALLY admire your strength and the way you handle everything. You have gone way beyond what the majority will go. I personally would have broken into a million little pieces a long time ago, but you, you've stayed strong. You are definitely not an ordinary 23? year old (thats a VERY good thing). Your family/friends are really lucky to have you, and I'm glad to have gotten the chance to know you through SB! HUGS!!!

so last night my daddy was transferred to a bigger hospital, the hospital they are going to do surgery to give him mechanical heart valves. The heart surgeon will monitor him for afew days and keep treating the infection in his blood. The blood work shows the infection clearing up so they are hoping next week to give him surgery. But, the transfer was terrible on my dad mentally. He called me a million times ALL night. HE kept asking for my mother " where is she, she said she was gunna be here at 6 o clock, she said she would hold my hand"...awe. I had to try to explain to him that it was the middle of the night, he wasn't going for surgery and my mother will see him after work. But he didnt get much of it, or maybe he did cause he stopped calling. Or maybe he just fell asleep. Or got distracted with TV.

I was supposed to go this morning. Which is why i was up since 530am. But my brother made a big stink that he doesnt know where the hospital is and he doesnt want to get lost and be late for work. And it's so stupid visiting hours aren't until 2pm. So i was just gunna wait in the lobby or cafe ( i never been to this hospital so dont know what they have) all morning and afternoon until i'm allowed to go see my dad. But since my brother was making a big stink i just said forget. I'll spend 40 bucks on a cab. I really can't afford to spend that money. My mother is telling me just to stay home. My dad will be nervous and freaking out regardless and she will go after work. ( 6 o clock) but i just dont feel right not going. But, she gave me a bunch of errands to do, but it;s so early i cant do them yet ( they all are going outside to the store, bank, mail things that sort of stuff) so i have to wait unil 9am. So i'm sitting in bed drinking coffee. I SHOULD be cleaning my room. I still haven't unpacked from Texas. And i did laundry yesterday and made the mistake of NOT putting clothes away right away. But part of the reason is cause i dont know what to do with everything... like the texas bags.. its ALL summer clothes. Mostly new stuff so i have NO room in my closets for them. I've been to tried and drained to deal with it. So my room is a mess. lol.

p.s. my brother bought me the harry potter blu ray box set of all the movies for my birthday.

I spent the day with my daddy today :-D. Poor guy. It's hard to see him mentally deficient and so ill. But its just SO good to see him and be with him.He apologized to me for being grumpy and yelling and pushy. ( he called like a million times, not just me, everyone. asking for ice cream and getting upset and angry when we told him we cant bring it, it will melt on the 30 min car ride there ). He said he has turned into his father. It's true. I was just telling me brother before we left to go see my father " he's just like grandpa". My grandpa was a terrible old miserable man. He used to swing at you with his cane... mostly for no apparent reason. So he apologized to me and told me proudly he hasnt fought with the nurses at this new hospital. Awe.

Then he told me he wished he had 3 of me. I'm such a good daughter. ANd my mother asked what about my sister and what about my brother and he said they aren't me.
Then he told my mother and I he doesn't know what he would do without us. He said when we aren't there he feels dead inside. Then he asked me if I was coming to see him tomorrow. And i asked him why.. if he wanted something. He said no. He misses me when i'm not there. Then he told me he owes me ihop for my bday when he gets out and he told my mother he owes her a vacation when he gets out. Told pick a place anywhere, she deserves it. Awe. THen my mom ask how we gunna afford a vacation and he said "my social security check!" lmao. He doesn't collect yet but in a few more months he will.

He was mostly sleeping all day. They had him up most of the night and he was in testing most of the morning. And for some reason, he was SO cold. The nurse brought him two blankets. His breathing therapist brought him another two. He had one already and two sheets. I brought him a sweater and he has a fleece robe. HE was using it ALL. THe nurses say they didnt find any medical reason for it. Poor guy.

Awww...Tasha, your dad is so sweet saying that! Bless him, i hope he gets well very soon so he can take you to ihop and your mom on holiday with the check

Don't have any Winter plans. Searching for cheap flight, see if I can afford a holiday.

Where are you planning to holiday to Libby?

Libby- My dad actually is having a normal day today, he didnt call me a every 2 hours throughout the night and he isn't calling every 20 minutes since it's morning. They hope to have surgery on him next week.

My hubby is doing okay. Traveling to visit him parents took a toll on him and leaving his family took a toll on him emotionally. Yesterday he was pretty sick cause my daddy calling all night long really affects the sleep factor. BUt we go to his doctors today and he goes for testings and a MRI and we find out if he needs more cancer treatments or not. I hope you find cheap flights. I paid an arm and an leg for my impromptu trip. But i was looking up tickets when i came back and the longer in advance you buy the tickets the cheaper they are. and any national holiday , no matter how small that holiday is, totally hikes up the prices in tickets.

Update

my hubby went for his MRI today. that went well. But we were told he has to resume cancer treatments. for six months. double the dose of chemo he was taking before. So we're both home sulking right now. Between that and then my daddy's poor health and in the hospital needing surgery. I'm just sad.
