What's everyone up to?

Lol- thats funny. cause even reading it i had the same reaction you did. I was like nothing else has the initials SB except Shadow Bite. I got jealous for a hot second before i finished reading. I was like ya'll have a gathering and didn't tell me?! Lol.

And the treatment went as well as it could i guess. the only thing we both were upset because the treatment was over two hours long, but the whole time my dads docs been telling us it would only be a half hour. I would of better prepared ourselves for going if I would of know. packed my dad his lunchbox, his fluffy robe. Dressed more comfortable. And also , would of better prepared leaving the hubby home. I would of made him something to eat before i left. And it turned out he was REAl sick today he hasn't even gotten out of bed yet. He was in a lot of pain and nauseous and he basically had to wait to I came home to even eat for the day. i was annoyed about that But otherwise the treatment went well. I actually had a good time, sitting with my dad and reading my book, i got to read a solid couple of chapters. But now is the anxious waiting game part, to see if my dad has any reactions from the treatment

SB confuses me so much on this site...there's so many different meanings: Shadow Bite, Spirit Bound, Storm Born, Succubus Blues....what is it was Richelle's books and the initials "SB"? ... and if you accidentally reverse the letters you get a WHOLE different meaning, which you know doesn't exactly relate to shadow bite, but is often used in everyday conversation.


Tasha: that sucks you were there longer. Doctors should never give you a small time frame...I know it always seems scarier thinking you'll be there longer, but isn't it better to be prepared? I'm sorry your hubby is sick, I hope he feels better soon and I hope the treatment settles with your dad *hugs*

lol, omgoodness. I know my gears aren't exactly turning today but i read that like... "what does SB reverse spell?" and when i put it together in my head i was like ohhhhhhh b...s.... ohhhhh... and started giggling like a fool. My hubby looked at me like im insane which only made me laugh so much more lol

It wasn't particularly clear...I sort of hedged around it. It's not like writing 'BS' was going to hurt anyone, but I was being sneaky

lol Tasha. Sorry you and your dad had to be there longer. I agree with Kim they should always give you a longer time frame just to prepare you. I hope your hubby is feeling better today and that your dad doesnt have too bad of a reaction to the chemo.

Well, we leave tomorrow to go visit the in-laws in Arkansas. I love his parents but I hate AR. Wish they would just move back to FL or at least a more entertaining not so hickish state lol. This is going to be one rough trip. 12 hours with 2 little kids plus my 'time of the month' should be here any day. On top of that my son and I both woke up sick. My throat hurts and I can barely talk. My daughter has been sick for the past few days with allergy probs (at least I hope thats what it is). UGH. I am so dreading this drive *sigh* I may not be able to get on next week which is going ot drive me crazy so don't expect to hear from me until April 3rd ish. We should be back sometime the 2nd. Ok am off to clean and start packing and all that fun stuff.

Ah hope you feel better ( and the kids too) Wilda. I couldn't help put laugh when you said " atleast a more entertaining not hickish stae"...lol I'm DYING to move to a small hick town. But maybe because I'm a New Yorker and grow up with the city life. I bet that small town life gets tiring pretty fast. Maybe just a vacation then ? lol But seriously, good luck with the drive, i know driving with little people anywhere is tough and long drives like that much be so hard. Maybe time to start the bubble wrap idea we were talking about around here a few days ago...lol.

Everyone, I may be on a little less starting Sunday since thats when the hubby starts treatments. But I'm sure I'll be on and let everyone know everything is okay. yesterday was a particularly hard day. The hubby kept saying negative stuff and posting negative stuff on face book. he told me several times " i don't think I'm going to make it" cause he was so jacked up and he hasn't even started treatment yet. I keep talking to him and so did hes family and some of his friends. But i guess we're just not getting through to him. it's like one day is 100% positive, and the next he is 100% negative. we go to the hospital tomorrow, they are going to do scans of his head and take pictures and stuff. So hopefully i'll drag him to talk to his social worker. I was trying to encourage him to think about joining the support groups and stuff, but he's just not open to the idea. I think deep down, he's scared to be connected to a stranger like that. I know that sounds funny but he's been a closed person he's whole life, i had to attack him with a sledge hammer to get him to open up and let me inside his walls. But his walls are still up and in tact and I don't think anything i do or say can make him change his mind and join a support group. he's using the excuse of "schedule conflict" as to why he doesn't want to join. But i think a support group, the ppl there and their words would have more weight because they are going through it too. Not just going through this WITH him, they are going through cancer themselves too. And the hospital even has a brain tumor support group so there is more relativity. I'm just running out of ways to talk to him. I'm oddly okay with everything. I'm real positive and hopeful, which i didn't think I would be. But I am.

Tasha, I sorry he's feeling like that but I can understand. I'd probably be the same way. I can't even imagine going through tbhat with someone much less going through it myself. I agree with you about the support group, but I'm fairly closed off myself. Maybe he'll come around. I hope everything goes well Sunday. I'll be thinking about you guys and sending lots of good vibes. HUGS

I took me a 2 hour nap today. I was sitting on the couch next thing I know I'm about to fall asleep. So being that my son was napping I locked the doors and went to my room. He woke me up at 1 wanting some drink but went back to sleep so i did too. Then I woke up at 2pm and I was dizzy, my body aches, I'm cold but I'm not running a fever. I feel so much worse than I did before the nap. I haven't done anything since then. I wish the hubby would be home tonight but he's gotta work. I also want my mommy lol. It's pathetic I know but she would be so much help *sigh* Once the kids are in bed I'm going ot take a long hot bath, take some meds, and go to bed in hopes to wake up better tomorrow. Now I'm gonna try to eat. I haven't ate anything in 8 hours and I'm feeling nauseous from it.

Tasha: Just keep trying to get through to him. I know you're probably doing that already, but it's important you don't give up too. He's nervous, which is completely acceptable. I hope he gets over the negative thinking soon, it's better to stay positive.

Had a pretty good day today. Heading to a friend's house in a little while for a girls night.

Last night was HORRIBLE. I ended up with a fever and chills. And as soon as I was in bed I started sweating. My body couldn't make up its mind if I was going to shiver or sweat. I haven't been that sick in at least 10 years. This morning my fever was down so I'm feeling a little better. Instead of chills I'm getting hot flashes that are making me a little dizzy. But it's way better than how I felt last night. Hopefully tonight isn't a repeat of last night.

Well, I've got double the stuff to do today being that I didn't get much done yesterday so I'm gonna go. I doubt I'll be on again today. I'll try to get on once we get to the hubby's parents. Idk if I can handle a full week without SB lol

Wilda, you set off already but hope your feeling better and hope the vacation ( and drive with the kids) go smoothly!

Everyone- Hi. I've been lazy the past few days. Lazy or busy depending on the time so I haven't been posting much. But my daddy is doing great. He hasn't had any side affects from his treatment. And the hubby talked to a social worker Friday so he hasn't been all negative and stuff. he's been scared and sicky and stuff. But he's not all depressed walking around saying I'm going to die. Which is an improvement. I hope if he keeps talking to a professional, he's confidence will grow and he''ll get a handle on his emotions and stuff.

But, today, tonight, he starts his chemo pills medication. And tomorrow the radiation treatment at the hospital starts. So the time has come. I'm spending this day on me grooming ( do hair and nails and eyebrows and stuff) and then cleaning. Maybe I should clean first. Don't want to ruin newly done nails. Yeah I'll do that. Since it's the first week we don't know anything , how he'll feel or react so I want to get all those lil chores like cleaning and laundry out of the way so we don't have to be bothered with that during the week.

i also might spend some time online searching for books. I mean I have A TON of books I have yet to read. But I want to stock up for 6 weeks of waiting around the hospital u know?

Hi everyone! We made is to the hubby's parents around 8am Saturday morning. The trip was ok the kdis slept most o the way and watched movies the other time. I was ok until I tried to sleep. Then my neck just got all stiff but after some sleep last night we are all feeling much much better. Since we got here, I've been taking care of a 2 week old puppy. Her mama wasn't producing enough milk to feed all 9 puppies so my mom in law took 2 1 for her and 1 for us (hubby asked her to). She's so cute and it gives me purpose while we're here and I'm out of my comfort zone. I just hope she does ok on the drive home.

Tasha, I'm SO happy your dad is doing great and I hope today goes well with your hubby.

Had a dull weekend. Studied and applied for a few graduate jobs.

It's been rough here with all the spring-ness. The pollen is sooooo bad here and our black cars are very yellow. I don't usually suffer from seasonal allergies but I've been feeling meh all week. Hopefully it'll decide to rain soon...

I would say more, but my head is killing me. Been crying all day. looks like we're taking my dog to the vet soon, she's not doing too well and this time we really don't think she'll survive. Bad start to the week.

Oh no!! *hugs* Kim, keep us posted on your puppy. It's always sad to loose a member of the family.

My chihuahua is really getting old. I mean, chihuahuas are supposed to live about 20 years I think. He's about 12 years old, but his winter coat never grew in last season. He has so many health issues already (nasal, cyst, hip displaces every now and then, missing an eye...). I don't know how old he'll get to. I'm worried he may already be getting there.

Mum and dad just took her to the vet...guess we'll find out what happens in a little while. Dad said I could have gone with them, but mum told me not to because it'd be too traumatic.


EDIT: We took my dog to the vet just in time. She started having seizures and coughing up blood. They needed to give her 3 injections to stop her heart. 16 years and 7 months she was with us. She'll never be forgotten.

I'm so sorry Kim. I don't really know what to say in means of comfort, I've never had a pet as a member of a family. All i can think of to say is we're all here for you on SB if you need to vent or cry or let out some emotions. I don't mind to read anything you may have to say. HUGS. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Thanks Ladies. You don't have to say anything Tasha. Just knowing you're all here for me is enough. My goal for today (tuesday) is to try not to cry much, so far so good, but it's only 7:47 am It's going to be a tough week, but I'll get through it.

I cried so much yesterday...I just, I can't do it again today...at least not during the day. I have to be able to concentrate on my assignment. Tonight I can let go a bit more.
