Thank you ya'll . There might not be a trip. at least not for me. I had to call the ambulance for my daddy today. I was in my room upstairs and just finished packing and putting away laundry and cleaning up and running around all day. I sit down with my laptop planning on watching some of my shows on hulu when all of a sudden i hear a big bang. I run downstairs and i see my dad sprawled on the floor. I dont know if i screamed. I think i did. cause my hubby came running down the stairs. My dad was way out of it. He passed out, apparently, and hit his head when he fell. At first he was way out of it. WE were asking him basic are you alright do you hurt can you hear me questions. we got him to his bed and he was talking a bit but refusing to go to the hospital. He started to sweat profusely and thats when i said the hell with this and at the same time the hubby was looking up a medication my father took. my dad said he dont normally take it, he hasnt in a month but took it today. And the combination of warning from the medication and my dad sweating ( signal of heart attack) i called 911.

The ambulance came and they couldnt even get a blood pressure on my dad they had to put the machine on him to get his vitals and heart rate and they said it wasn't good at all. They took him to the nearest hospital.. not his usual hospital which isn't far.

My brother, fiance and i drove while my mother went in the ambulance. The hospital was so terrible. I hate that place and dont want my father there. THey werent admitting patients in the walk and families werent being allowed in for 2 hours. My mother told my brother to go home and she call us when my dad is stable enough to transfer him to his hospital. SO we came home and the hospital wont let us transfer my dad. Ive been on the phone since trying to arrange a transfer but so far no luck. My mother said his blood pressure is going back and they are doing the tests and stuff and it looks like he stabilizing. Hopefully he stabilizes and then tomorrow we can call his primary doctor to see if he can help transfer him to our usual hospital.

omg, Tasha, I'm so sorry. That's terrible. I hope so much that your dad is ok, and that he starts getting better. This isn't fair.

I am SO sorry about your dad Tasha! I can't believe they wouldn't transfer him! I always thought that if you didn't want to be at a particular hospital that they ahd to transfer you or at least let you leave and take yourself. It sounds like a horrible place. I hope everything is better today and that you get him transferred. Like Kim said, we're all here for you. HUGS!

Thank you so much ya'll. Sorry i didnt get on yesterday. I was like a zombie i was tired.

But my dad is doing MUCH better. He is still at that awful hospital. Since my dad is more or less alright we are just trying to tough it out there. Cause I still couldn't get our insurance on the phone and other places on the phone. My dad said to forget about it. Hopefully, Monday night he will be released. They just need to observe his heart over the weekend. They did a EKG heart test friday, yesterday and will do another one today. He has a heart monitor on him at all times. Monday they will do a echo cardiogram thingy where they take pictures of his heart. If all is good for that ( which they suspect) he will be released Monday night.

It's just he had low blood pressure and then the pill dropped his blood pressure even more and his heart almost stopped from all that. So they have to make sure there is no damage and stuff. But he is awake, aware, sharp, talking and walking around and stuff.

My dad is telling me to go to Texas. I think we are still going as planned if everything with my dad goes as planned( his health is stable and steady, and he is released monday night).

yikes, that's all still pretty scary. I'm glad he seems to be doing ok, and I hope everything is fine after all the tests.

I'm with Kim, thats scary but I'm SO glad he's doing better and I hope he gets to go home today.

Ack. Got burned while at the pool the other day... didn't feel it till today though. It sucks. Luckily it's not that bad. I'm never using spray sunscreen again.

Thank you ya'll. I've having SUCH a problem with the hospital. I was there until after 11 at night yesterday. They kept telling us he would be released and "the doctor is coming the doctor is coming" and it wasn't until after 1030 the doctor came and told us my father couldn't be released. They did the testing early morning 9am. But then the doctors didnt write the report for the test and they cant release my father without a written report. I mean the could of told us this hours ago and not lie to us for hours and hours. My dad was sleeping most of the day to pass the time and he was so excited to go home. he would dream a doctor came to him and would let him go home and he would wake up like a kid in disney land " i can go home now? the doc came. i can go home now". It was adorable but sad at the same time. Then my dad had a fever last night. So they did xrays on him and stuff but my dad said its the temp in the room and i agree. In the day they blast the heat i'm practically stripping. And at night time it's freezing.

So hopefully he will be released today.

But, I'm off to Texas today. So i just wanted to jump on and say i heart you all and appreciate you all! If i can i'll check in but if not i'll be back in two weeks!

Oh no, Ash...I hope it's not a bad sun burn. I'm so jealous that you've got warm weather. It's so cold here. We had a heap of sun today, but it didn't make much of a difference.

Tasha: That's ridiculous! The doctors should have made more of an effort to do their job, if they have to write up a report then it should be done. I'm happy you're going to Texas still. Have fun, stay safe and we'll talk to you soon! *hugs*

Right now, I'm alright...annoyed at myself for jumping 10 feet in the air when my sister sent me a text. *I'd* texted her first, and she'd already replied once, but the second time scared the hell out of me, so I'm sort of internally yelling at myself for being so silly. I'm also trying to work out what I'll do tomorrow night. My parents are away and my sister has decided to stay at her boyfriend's house tomorrow, so I'm going to be all alone. *sigh*

Tasha: I hope your dad is doing better. Have a good time in Texas!! Just remember to wear sunscreen. We've been having a lot of SUNNY weather here.

Kim: Yeah, the sunburn sucks, but it's not as bad as it could be. Just extremely irritating. The itching pain is mostly gone, but now my face is all flaky and I have family coming this weekend. *sigh* Anyway, why don't you do a movie marathon? lol That's what I do when I'm home alone. The last movie marathon I did by myself was Die Hard. I really enjoyed all of them. However, I got scared when I made the popcorn because... well I suck at microwaving popcorn. I attempted to pop two bags, each using a different microwave and somehow managed to fail BOTH times. One came out severely underpopped and the other was very nearly a fire hazard. *POPCORN FAIL*

Ouch, Ash. I hope your burns get better soon. Lol, I don't think I've ever failed at making popcorn, but I don't eat it all that often either, so it could still happen.

I still don't know what I'll do. Might see if there are any movies on tv. Thinking about having an early dinner and then just settling into bed to read my book. My sister left me a note saying if there were any problems to give her a call...well, no problems yet, but I sent her a text telling her I was home for the day etc. And she decided today will be the only day she doesn't reply to me. She's just fabulous sometimes.

Oh, this isn't the first time I've failed at making popcorn. I've suspected this shortcoming before (an incident involving caramelized popcorn kernels), but didn't have evidence of it being a true incompetency until that night.

Anyway, if you're still looking for something to do, there's always that chapter I sent you. Just a thought. lol You know I'd love to hear what you think.

I still need to hit the bookstore!! I was going to go today, but then I had sunburn issues and didn't want to go out of the house with the way my skin is right now. Anyway, I guess it's better that I go later in the week since new books come out on Tuesdays and I'm sure they'll have shelved them by now.

Thanks Ash! I definitely noticed the sun when i got here yesterday. Especially since its been raining and storming in NY...lol. I have to pick up some sun screen for when we go to the pool.

Sorry about the sunburn Ash. Hope its much better. As for the popcorn, I'm the same way which is why I now stand there and stare it down lol As soon as the popping slows down I take it out. That works most of the time but occassionally I'll still get a slightly burnt batch : /

Blah, I am SO bored!

hey everybody, just coming on to rant. I'm so sooo worried about my daddy. My mother and brother brought him into the ER this morning ( he was just released yesterday from that terrible hospital) and he was border line on the verge of having a heart attack . they found a infection in his blood and pneumonia. so they have him in intensive care cause he's pressure isn't stabilized. They terrible hospital said they dont know if the pneumonia affected his heart but the reports showed a leakage somewhere ( doesnt make any damn sense to me). But at this hospital, he's usual hospital they just hoping to stabilize him and his heart. and treat for the infection and pneumonia . Once he's heart is stable they said he should start to recover and treatment will take for the infection and pneumonia once he's heart is stable. Sigh. The worst part is being so far away and not being able to see him and speak to him. i mean he cant really speak right now, he's delirious and out of it and that sick sleep state. But i'm just sooo worried. My mother told me he is okay and will be okay. Just need to get through tonight and be stabilized. It's just my poor daddy. he's been so sooo much.I'm sooo worried about him and so sad he is really sick. And soo sooo angry. Cant catch a break. :-(

Ash: I promise, promise, promise I'll read your chapter soon. I decided to just read my book last night though, I was going to watch The Covenant, until 10 minutes in I remembered there were a lot of "dark and alone" moments, and while I'm not scared of anything in that movie, dark alone moments have a way to make me paranoid, so yeah...quit that and did something I knew I'd enjoy and would take me away from reality.

Wilda: I don't mind being alone in the middle of the day, but being alone at night creeps me out sometimes. I'm getting used to it though. My parents are going away a lot more these days and my sister isn't home much so, more alone time for me.

Tasha: I am so sorry you're dad's still going through this. Take deep breaths and try to stay calm. I know it'll be hard, being so far away, but it doesn't help if you're driving yourself insane. *hugs*

Tasha: So sorry about your dad!! I hope he's doing better. *hugs* Just remember that they're taking good care of him. Try to enjoy your time away as well.

Kim: Ohh... dark and alone. I haven't seen the Covenant. I don't mind scary movies that much when I'm home alone. Actually, that seems to be the only time I watch them. But I love scary movies. What makes it hard afterwards is when I'm *still* alone and I hear weird noises at night. *shudder* Anyway, whenever you get to the chapter, just let me know.

Kim, I LOVE The Covenant. I had a copy of it but during the last move I guess I lost it : / I'm the same way at night. My hubby works nights now so its just me and the kids. I refuse to watch anything that will kick my paranoia into high gear unless he's home. Then again the tiniest noise will spook me.

The other night my hubby thought it'd be funny to scare the crap out of me. I was sitting at the table on my computer which is by a window and the blinds were open still and out of the corner of my eye I see someone walk up and turn around and look at me. I didn't scream or anything but Ifroze and I swear my heart jumped out of my chest. It felt like something straight out of a horror movie. I slowly turned my head and saw my husband starring at me. If I could have punched him through the window, I would have.

I spoke to my mother this morning. Apparently, my dad's primary doctors is PISSED off at that terrible hospital. My dad wasn't supposed to be released if he had impending blood tests and results werent in, and he wasn't supposed to be released either since he had a fever that night. They were supposed to keep him for 24 hours, to see if the fever breaks, not just go down a bit ( the medication can help bring down a fever but it will come back if something is wrong like with my dad he has the infection). So my dad's doc is really pissed off and ordering a bunch of tests and specialists. And that terrible hospital is kissing ass now. they are constantly calling intensive care, my mother and my dad's primary doc. If i was in NY, i would of have been in a lawyers office first thing to sue for malpractice. But i dont want to add any stress on my mother since I'm away and as long as my dad pulls through all this I dont really care.

My dad's pressure is stabilized a bit. He's real delirious and delusional for lack of better words to describe it. They suspect its just from the trauma of everything, being sick and the war his body is raging. Cause he's acting like if he had a heart attack or stroke mentally, but they said he didn't have one so he's out of it cause of trauma. The poor guy. :-(. My mother said he's acting like kid. " Where are my clothes, I want my clothes i want my clothes!" Or he asked for his cell phone ( he isn't allowed to have it in ICU) but he begged and begged and so she gave it to him to hold while she is there and he was lookin at his phone every minutes and holding it upside then. Then he opened it and saw missed called so he said " i got calls i got calls!"...awe. My mother is supposed to call me at 12ish and i can speak to my daddy.

They hoping after tests and specialists they can work out a treatment plan for him and he will start to recover and stuff. My mother is hoping if not today then tomorrow he will be stable and better enough to be moved out of intensive care. He was already taken off the critical care list. So that's some good news. :-D

Ash, i dont know what part of Texas your in, but im in League City area of Texas and its sooo cloudy over here. The first day it was real sunny. yesterday it was cloudy all day and today the weather said its going to be cloudy over here too. And its sooo windy. Im not use to so much wind and circulation of air.. in NY we just dont get wind like that everyday lol. The weather said tomorrow is going to T-storm all day. So i hope after that i get to enjoy some sun.

Wilda- ur hubby makes me laugh. He reminds me of my fiancee. He does things like that to me ALL the time lol .Yesterday we were in toys r us and i was just strolling behind everyone in my own world looking around and when i catch up to everyone my hubby calls my name so i look at him and he is holding one of those rubber snakes. I flinched so hard i almost knocked into the shelves. lol.

Kim- i've lived in my house since i was 5 years old. I'm still scared at night time to walk downstairs to the bathroom and have to turn the lights on...lol It's really bad for me though cause the bath room is right next to the kitchen and the kitchen door is glass and see through. so im my head i always think i'll walk down and see a guy in ragged clothes covered in blood. with a butcher knife.

The hubby just scared the crap outta me. Cause the floors dont squeak over here. So he was in the other room and i didnt hear him walking to this room and so all of sudden he is next to me i almost dropped the laptop.lol

Tasha: I'd want to sue the bad hospital too. A hospital can't go around releasing people just because they feel like it. They have to be ready to be released!
I've lived in my house my entire life, I should be pretty damn used to all its noises and such, but it just freaks me out at night sometimes...I guess it's a natural thing, since we all have night-time scares.

I was home alone again last night...I think I handled it better on wednesday night than last night. I kept jumping at sounds. But I didn't stay up until midnight this time, WAY too tired. I'd been out all day again, but instead of just visiting a friend I was at a Cassandra Clare book signing and Q&A.

We got to the singing at about 2pm yesterday for the 2:30 signing and the line was huge. I mean, I'd expected it to be popular, but because it was part of the Sydney Writers Festival I was hoping it wasn't as publicised for the teens and fans, you know random people wondering around the festival might have turned up (and I think a quarter of the audience were people like that, function jumpers) but anyway, a friend I was with went to the front of the line and counted how far back we were: 130 in the line...2 seconds later one of the festival volunteers counted too. He said 120 were definitely getting in, the rest were in a grey area. We panicked. there was no way we were not getting in. So they let the 120 in, and then said another 10, and one of my friends got through in that round...Me and the other friend were left outside at first. But we got in and still got to sit together

Cassie Clare is so awesome. If you've read her Mortal Instruments series she's pretty much Jace, only minus the arrogance. She's funny, sarcastic, tells really good story recaps, and was just really nice. Unfortunately we could only get one book signed (but I ended up getting 2, I randomly still had my friend's copy of 'Clockwork Angel' in my room, so I attempted to get it signed too and I did, she reckons she's forever in my debt now, but I think we're even since she buys me books all the time).

Anyway, then we had to wait in another line for about an hour to get out books signed. While we were waiting, on of the publishing assistants came around giving us all Healing Rune necklaces. And then we spent the rest of the waiting time talking about everything and anything and listening to the girls behind us argue about how to pronounce 'Stele' and wondering who Holly Black was and if she'd written anything other than the Modern Faerie Tales series (I had to turn around and jump in their conversation then because I knew that she had and I couldn't listen to another 10 minutes of "I wonder if she has, I hope she has" because it had already been going on for 10 minutes). Anyway, we just get to the front of the line when some lady comes up to the girls behind and says "Excuse me, but what is this line for?" so they tell her it's for Cassie and the lady starts the discussion of Who is Cassandra Clare and what does she write? Turned out she was from the ABC radio broadcast of the festival, and my friends and I ended up joining in her conversation when the girls behind said "It's like Twilight, only better" We went mental, because it's nothing like Twilight, but yeah it's better. On a completely different note. My parents come back from holidays today. Their plane gets in at 9:20 (that's why I'm up so early, checking flight schedules) Then it's off to the footy, which I REALLY hope we win, otherwise there's a chance we'll be coming last after today
