| So i woke up excited to read it and found out that there wasn't a kindle version wicjch pissed me off. My plan was to but on the kindle then this weekend get the hard copy. Well I ended up downloading the audio on Itunes for $26, the audio sucked the lady did such crappy accents for adrian and Dimitri it annoyed the hell out of me but I endured.
So well first off I get and understand and respect the way Dimitri was acting after he was saved but some part of me wanted Rose to fly his grandma out from siberia so she could smack him over the head and tell him to pull himself together. He started to come around in the end though. It sucked when he wanted to help defend Rose both in battle and the court room but couldn't because of his questionable situation.
So Tattiana's dead! well Im sort of glad I did want her to die but after that note I kind of felt a little remorse. To be honest at first when we heard she was dead Two thoughts went through my mind Victor or Ambrose. Ambrose because of the decree I figured he'd talk to her and realize she was just using him things would get heated and him being a dhampir had the ability to stake her. Also because he has that intimate and private access to her. But when he handed rose the note that theory went out the window. Victor has the motivation and the means. Tattiana was occupying his place on the throne she sent him to terasov prison, and he has every reason to want to frame rose since she was part of the reason he was throne in prison as well as his debt to her. Im sure he'd like to see her suffer in a cell fore a while before he either broke her out or got her off then his debt to her would be cleared.
Adrian was really cool he stepped up to the plate in being Rose's boyfriend we got to see a more serious side to him, he still had a bit of sarcastic nature but over all he came off pretty serious to me, that might also be due to the poor narrating on the audio though. Lissa really stepped up to. She freaken staked a strigoi and not just any strigoi Dimitri! The one man army.
With the new age decree in effect now that means Jill is in her last year at the academy and if people dont want to see these kids dieing then Rose and Dimitri should go back as instructors. That would give the students a fighting chance no pun intended. Seeing as rose and Dimitri are a force to reckon with it might have the opposite effect and the students might become great fighters only emphasizing the decree though.
yeah glad christian and lissa are back together, nice turn around with the cheating dad and illegitimate child angle. If it gets her on the throne! Then she can help defend Rose
I liked daniella in the beginning but by the end I hated her. I can't believe she made a guard or janitor whatever lie just to get her son off. I get the motherly angle and all but Adrian is an adult and he wanted to testify as Rose's alibi, she should have just let him. If the court wanted to charge him with conspiracy as well then Rose could have revealed her bite mark. ( it would suck for her rep yes) But it would prove that neither were in the right state to execute a royal assassination.
Some funny parts that made me lol and roll off my seat: 1 when rose told the little boy to go punch Dimitri! 2 When abe and Damen were fighting in the court room! 3 when the royal guards came in and rose started yelling at the to leave Dimitri alone then found out it was her and was like oh, then started fighting! 4 when sydney naturally suspected rose like reflex when the records went missing 5 (This is Richelle) Authors do things in their writing and don't realize it like the qoute of the book. Almost everytime rose met someone new she would describe them "They didn't look much older than me."
Those are just a few but they had me laughing.
I was really hoping to see more of Janine in this one and a bond or relationship form, I was surprised she didnt show up for rose's hearing. It was cool that Abe did though, it's nice to see a moroi father takeing an interest in his dhampir child. And if the trial goes sour i have no doubt that abe and dimitri and hide and protect rose.
cant wait for the next book Last sacrifice the title alone means something big is going to happen between rose and dimitri, poor adrian is bound to get his heart broken but hopefully thats the most of his injuries.
Since I had to retype my thoughts I just cut it in half for now and stressed the major points.

| So, I’ve finished Spirit Bound. There’s not much more to write. Still I have to write. In my head there are so many thoughts. One thing I just noticed is that it’s pretty hard to express yourself in another language. When I write in Swedish I know exactly how to write to get the magic-feeling in the words, you’ll have to forgive me if I fail doing this in English.
Yesterday I went to another town and to the only bookstore in whole Sweden who now have the book and brought a copy. (The other two have already sold all theirs). The site I’d ordered it from sent me an email saying that they hadn’t received it from U.S yet so it was the safest way to get the book.
As I wrote, I’ve finished SP, right now I feel empty. The book was amazing but it wasn’t what I’d expected. Some things were too predictable.. Here are some small thoughts; When I read that Eric Dragomir had been, yeah you know, flirting with others I guessed the thing about Lissa being the last Dragomir. I don’t like Mead’s way of making things like that obvious. It was the same thing when she wrote about Rhonda’s predictions in SK. I’m pretty sure that we are familiar to the last Dragomir, one person on my mind is Mia, but I hope I’m wrong on that one. I can’t describe the hate against Adrian I felt when he and Rose were to close. I should be Rose and Dimitri, not Rose and Adrian. I can’t help getting angry every time Adrian shows up. I just don’t like Rose way of creating a triangle drama and he is the reason (thank god they didn’t have sex…). And then we have Dimitri. I didn’t expect him to turn in this book. I thought they would need at least two books to change him, not a half. I still glad that things went as they did. If things would have been heaven between them, well, that would be too much Twilight over it (and I don’t like Twilight). When he said the thing about “Love fades” tears weren’t far, but I was sitting on a train so it had looked strange if I’d started to cry. I was so proud of him when he stood up against all those guardians to protect Rose. It gave me hope for the future, I believe, one way or another, they’ll be together. And no Adrian between them: D
One part of the book when I just couldn’t stop laughing was when Lissa and Christian were planning to learn stake Strigois and Rose was inside Lissa’s head.
There so much to say about this book and I’m too bad in English to write about everything on my mind right now. I’m in some kind of shock. I don’t know, I can’t stop think about the book and how much I want to know the end of the story. It’s strange; this is the first vampire series I have these feelings about.

| I read over all your reviews and I basically agree with you. This book was great but it is probably my least favorite. This book was definitly the most action packed! I even enjoyed seeing the sensual side of Adrian (oh is he capable of being sensual). In addition, EDDIE is back! Man, I missed him, to bad be disapeared that last half of the book I too really wish that we would have seen more of Janine. Everytime Rose got in trouble , I was expecting Janine and come back and I guess kick her butt or something. However, for me the book failed in the Rose and Dimitri department. I understand that Dimitri's regrets what he did to her and because of it he pushes her away. By the end of the book, he had even convinced me that he no longer loved her. Yeah he wanted to protect her but so does alot of her friends. Ok I said my peace for now. | |

| I just finished reading it. OMG. I am just in complete shock right now. I don't even know what to think. I'm extremely angry and pissed over Rose being accused of killing Tatiana. I can't even fully wrap my mind around it. It's just unbelieveable. Well, I guess not really that unbelieveable that ppl are accussing her. I mean the evidence is kind of hard core. I'm trying to think of who could killed her and framed Rose. There's only 1 person that comes to my mind and thats Ambrose. I know its kind of out there but its who I keep thinking about.
As for Dimitri. Well he broke my heart. I can understand why he was being like he was towards Rose. He's most upset over what he did to her and looking at her reminds him of being a Strigoi the most but damn I wanted to kick his ass for the way he was treating her! She has gone throught the most trouble to get the info they needed and yet he only worshipped Lissa-I said that with a sneer lol. I was sooooo proud of her for being brave enough to save him but this protective state she is over him and his worship of her makes me want to kill them both. I hate it. I know there isn't anything romantic involved but sheesh, if it wasn't for Rose he would have never been saved. They wouldn't have found out the info and Lissa wouldn't have been brave enough to do it. I'm glad Dimitri is somewhat coming back. The way he was protective over Rose when those gaurdians swarmed in on her was amazing. I think he may possess some of those sharper reflexes and instincts from when he was Strigoi. I can't see any guardian even Dimitri being able to have fended off that many guardians and keep Rose behind him all by himself. He was more than a guardian at that moment, he was a true warrior.
Onto happier things. Christian and Lissa are back together! YAY! lol Took them long enough to get past their jealousy and stop being stubburn.
and as much as I love Dimitri and wanted Rose and Dimitri together again, I'm super happy things are working out with Adrian. I was extremely disappointed in her letting him bite her though. I wanted the sex lol. Damn him! What kind of guy doesn't always carry a condum with him? Something tells me he wouldn't have minded getting Rose pregnant. He is soooooo in love with her and truely wants to be with her. I can honestly see him wanting to marry her and have a family with her.
It breaks my heart about Rose and Dimitri but honestly, I don't see a future between them two. Sure they still obviously love eachother dispite Dimitri's protests that he doesn't. But so much has happened and changed between them. Not only has Dimitri changed, but Rose has too. Trust me, I'd love to see a happy ending with them but I don't see it happening.
Now I'm just rambling. Blah, my thoughts are all over the place jumping from one topic to the next.
Lissa has a half brother or sister. That I didn't expect. I wonder if Rose will tell Lissa? She deserves to know. But idt she will handle that news very well. I tell you Rhonda's cards sure make more sence now.
Abe said Rose will not go to trial. What is he gonna do break her out of there? Unless he can come up with proof that was Rose was framed and didn't do it I don't see how she can avoid going to trial. And what about this journey she has to go on to find Lissa's half brother or sister? I'm just so confused about what is to come in Last Sacrifice. It all scares the hell out of me and we've got 6.5 months to go before finding out what happens. Thats pure torture!!!!

| Firstly, my thoughts, then I’ll reply to people. (And I'm sorry It's a huge reply...I needed to get my thoughts out)
I’m in a state of shock right now. Mainly because we’ve been waiting so long for SB and now it’s come and gone leaving us with an even BIGGER story to come in the final book. Everything seemed to happen so fast. One minute we’re in the academy, then rushed off to Tarasov, Dimitri being saved, Tatiana’s death...its insane!
I love that Rose got a separate trial to the rest of the novices. It shows that they really wanted to put their recruits through the toughest challenges and to make sure they were testing them to the limits. It may not have been fair, because they were supposed to all be based on the same situations, but it definitely shows determined the academy guardians are to bring out the best in the novices.
The prison break and Victor situation was awesome. I’m so glad Eddie was involved, though it would have been nice if he’d been around more often towards the end of the novel too. So much thought went into the “rescue” I’m shocked at how well they put it all together, and in such sort a time. I’m also glad Mia had a hand in it. I’ve become very fond of her. Meeting Robert wasn’t at all like I expected it to be. I know we already knew they’d be going to Las Vegas, but I hadn’t expected them to meet in the middle of a casino/bar. And I can’t believe they ran off! I guess I can’t expect them to stick around with Rose and the Gang, not since they had the power to turn them in, but I still didn’t expect them to run off so quickly. I always liked Victor, he’s that good sort of Evil Villain, and I sort of feel bad for him considering he lost Natalie after knowing a way he was going to save her. That still doesn’t excuse what he did or made her do, but it’s all falling into place now. We see Natalie turning strigoi wasn’t really the last resort, it was just a back-up plan. I wonder what role he’ll play in Last Sacrifice.
Probably one of the main parts I hated about the book was Lissa learning to fight and in fact staking Dimitri. It was all too easy. She just happened to find guardians who were ok with the last Dragomir learning to defend her? I thought the whole point of her having her two guardians around her all the time was because she wasn’t expected to fight for herself, and if it ever came to the point where she was left alone to fend for herself then she probably wasn’t going to make it out of there by giving someone a slight punch to the face. I did, however, like the sexual tension that built up between Christian and Lissa. I sort of like it better than when they were always in love with each other, it made them more...human I guess isn’t the right word, but less perfect. When Lissa simply pushed through the fire and “saved” Dimitri I was ready to murder her. Not only was she risking everything, it was once again Spirit-Saving-The-Day. I get it, the serious is pretty much centred on Spirit, but there’s only so much spirit I can handle. And then when Dimitri started “worshipped” her I was seriously afraid he’d fallen in love with her; and, for that matter, that Lissa was falling in love with him too. She just seemed way too obsessed with being with him and way too quick to tell Rose to bugger off. I kept wanting her to tell Dimitri he wasn’t there to make demands and that because Rose was her best friend she was going to listen to her instead.
Onto Dimitri. Wow, Dimitri. Badass Dimitri; Affectionate Dimitri; Protective Dimitri; Strigoi Dimitri; Mysterious Dimitri; Controlled Dimitri; Depressed Dimitri...Way to suffer from serious mood swings! My original theory that Strigoi souls don’t actually go anywhere totally came true. Although it’s sad that the good part of them is sort of conscious when they’re doing all the bad things to people and no longer being themselves. I still have a soft spot for Strigoi Dimitri but I LOVE dhampir Dimitri. And even though the circumstances of his being restored were a bit rushed and insane, I LOVE that he’s back. I hated that he didn’t want to see Rose. I get that he hated what he did to her and that he didn’t think himself worthy of anything, but honestly! How could he not want to see Rose!? I was so glad when she went down there to see him, and I kept applauding her every time she got him angry. I know they didn’t want him to seem Strigoi-like if he was still being questioned, but at least she got some real emotion out of him. Depressed Dimitri was not one I liked. His public questioning thing was awesome. I love how Hans came through with everything and I also loved when they asked if anyone else had questions and Rose was like “Well someone has to ask something” and stepped up to do some interrogating. I also loved Jonathan and that he got the crowd giggling with his “he doesn’t seem very strong to me. I don’t think he’s a Strigoi.” The church scene had me smiling and crying. I smiled when Rose called him “Comrade” and when Dimitri was like “You were watching me the whole time” because, like Rose said, that meant he had to be watching her at some point too. But when he pulled to “love fades” line, my heart broke. I mean, we knew the line was coming, but I really hoped he wasn’t the one saying it. In the cafe I was so happy. Firstly, he was talking to her and I was proud of Rose for not ignoring him completely. And then when he defended her, he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her. I was so moved. Although, it does complicate things all over again. Here he is claiming that he doesn’t love her, and really wants nothing to do with her anymore, and just as Rose finally accepts Adrian as the one she’ll love Dimitri plays the hero-card and she’ll being falling for him again.
Speaking of Adrian. I love him, he’s so sweet to give up smoking and drink (mostly) all because of Rose. And even though she was doing some pretty stupid things by Rose-standard he still wanted to be with her. I was a little annoyed that he bit her though, and that Rose was for it. I thought that would bring up old memories of being captive with Dimitri and we all know she eventually thought that was a terrible thing to have let herself get into. I realise that Adrian biting her ever now and then wouldn’t be as bad, because his endorphin release would be significantly less powerful than Strigoi Dimitri’s was and also he wouldn’t be doing it everyday; but it was still wrong. Other than that I think he was awesome in this book.
Lissa having a half sibling is amazing. We keep finding out scandalous things about her family. First Andre and Mia, the “uncle” Victor, now Eric. I wonder where that story will lead to, and why someone was trying to get the Alchemists’ information on Eric, which was obviously leading to this discovery.
And finally, the big stuff. Guardian ages going down? I could not believe it. Where do these stupid moroi get their ideas from? What makes them so goddamn special that they have the right to waste the lives of dhampirs when there aren’t enough of them as it is. And who’s going to benefit from this drop of age? The ROYAL moroi, because they’re the only ones who get anything around here. I can’t believe that Tatiana didn’t ask for Rose’s opinion on Guardians being let out at a younger age. She wanted to present a just position on the matter, but withheld stuff too. I mean, in her letter to Rose at the end, she seemed to say that she only supported the movement because she didn’t like the alternative of forcing all dhampirs into early service, so why wouldn’t she try and sway those few people who wanted to lower the age? Why wouldn’t she ask Rose her opinion on the younger generation? Tatiana’s death came as the biggest shock. I was sort of semi-liking her. Not in a way that would make her my favourite character or anything like that, but she seemed sort of tolerable. She was fairly nice to Rose and I understand why she would want to kick her out during the council meeting once she started the name calling and such. It’s obvious to us that Rose didn’t kill her. But I can’t help thinking it’s someone she knows that did it. They said she died with a shocked look on her face, and while I guess if you had a stake shoved through your chest your might be a little shocked, but it’s almost as though she was REALLY surprised someone attacked her. I immediately thought Victor or Ambrose. But Victor left me because how the hell would he get into the Court? I know he’s crafty and probably has friends still in Court, but I just don’t think he could get in there, manage to find Rose’s room AND her stake without being seen, and then kill the queen. I do however like, I think it was Abe’s, comment about how Rose would have managed to get through all of the Queen’s guards, although Dimitri is proof that they’re not the best guards in the world, especially since he was taking them on singlehandedly. And with Ambrose, once he gave the letter to Rose I sort of lost my opinion of him doing it. He seemed to think that she’d have a good reason for what she does, and I can’t see him killing anyone. The whole point of him being at the court was because he couldn’t go through with the defending/killing part of being a guardian. And his personality just doesn’t fit. Maybe I’m wrong, but it just doesn’t seem right. I’m concerned about Rose’s stake being the weapon though. I can understand why she thought she’d left her stake in her room: she was supposed to be safe in the Court. I wonder who was close enough to her to get inside her room without someone noticing a strange person walking around the halls.
Jill: The didn't say ALL students would be let out of academies at 16, just the dhampirs. Jill would be safe because she's moroi.
Nessi: Yeah, Rose being inside Lissa's head during the "stake" lessons was pretty funny. I loved how Serena or Grant, can't remember who said it, was like "oh, it's not like you'd get a stake, we don't give them out to just anyone" and Rose thought "Oh, I so wish she'd look in Lissa's bag right now".
hungrycookiemonster: More Rose Dimitri stuff would have been nice. I figured once he was brought back, though he might regret what he'd done, that he'd get through it WITH Rose, not by avoiding her.
Wilda: I know! The Tatiana thing is a bit insane. I still don't know what to think of it. Everything in this books was such a rush and it doesn't help that that side of things wasn't completely wrapped up. We're left hanging in the middle of it all.

| I reasd the last 2 pages while in the middle of the book and all it did was confuse me. I'm still dazed over SB. It's all I've been able to think about since starting it Tuesday night. I even dreamed of pieces of the book last night and well tuesday night too cause I had to stop in the middle of the book lol. It was a really good book with a lot going on but like Kim said it was a bit rushed. One thing happened right after the next. And all it's done was leave me dieing for more. | |

EDIT: I dream pieces of novels too, or at least go to bed thinking about them heaps. How I would have done a certain scene differently...most of mine involved Rose throwing herself at dimitri a lot though, so I don't think that would have worked out well.

Tatiana didn't ask Rose's opinion because she just needed enough testimony to get the law passed. The age thing sucks yeah but like Tatiana said in her note it was the less of the two horrible choices and it would buy time. If the age wasn't passed then every dhampir would be forced into service. When rose was yelling at the queens I was half expecting her to tell the queen that the Dhampirs would strike and cease to defend the moroi all together. Temporarily that would be the perfect scare tactic against the moroi they would feel like they were left defenseless to the strigoi. That would make the moroi more understanding that dhampirs are people and not property, it might also scare some moroi into learning offensive magic. In the end the the Dhampirs need the moroi for their race to survive, and moroi could counter by not breeding with dhampirs or simply die off, so thats why I say it would only be a temporary situation. As for Tatiana I was semi liking her to, especially after reading her note at the end, Tatiana was obviously expecting her death with the pass of the decree no doubt she made a lot of enemies with that law. I'm still not putting it passed victor because he has spies everywhere and people willing to carry out his dirty work, that are in the court no less. When he was locked up there he was able to get notes sent to rose, and people still carrying out his plans on the outside. So Any one of the staff or whom ever could have gotten into Rose's room for him and as weak as victor is he could stake the queen if others were holding her down, then they could simply erase any security footage. Setting rose up, would get her out of the picture, and then he'd have access to lissa to heal him and then he could take his spot as monarch. I also think he was involved with stealing the records from the alchemists, because he was a good friend and family to Eric dragomir and with as much knowledge Victor has must have known about the other dragomir for a long long time. Victor had the records stolen to prevent any proof of other Dragomirs there for eliminating Lissa from taking her place on the council, and undoing the verdict with Rose, as well as preventing her from becoming queen. The records were stolen from Nevada and where does Victor and Robert live????? I also think Victor needs lissa for healing because his brother is too far gone, old and weak. Victor killing the queen would certainly account for the shocked look on her face. Well just a few of my thoughts, in response.

| oh yeah and I'm glad Abe is defending rose because knowing him hes probably got or can get scandalous information on the jury and can therefor intimidate them and their verdicts. He is smey after all and people fear him and don't dare cross him, I think Rose made the right choice in picking him. | |

| Rose definitely made the right choice by Choosing Abe. They are all in for a shocker when the truth comes out about him being her father. And yeah I suppose anyone could have killed the queen. The most likely are Ambrose and Victor but I wouldn't be surprised if it were another Dhampir. I just hate that they set Rose up. I can see Victor setting Rose up liek you said Jill to get Rose out of the picture but why would Ambrose set Rose up? Why would anyone else set Rose up? Maybe whoever did it wasn't actually trying to set her up but she gave them easy access to her stake by leaving it in the room. Even at the Royal court she should ahve kept it on her at all times. idk there's so many questions and none of them will be answered until LS is released | |

| Thanks again Wilda for putting those up! Ok finsihed it like a day or so ago so I'm so freakin happy. Also who cried? I will woman-up and say I did cry when I read that - Spoiler:
Dimitri was healed
I went into a hysteric laughter and tears. I alos started cryign again when - Spoiler:
Dimitri fucking reajected her!
I was very hazed through the whole thing thought. Who else felt like it went be really fast? Ok I'm not typing as much as you lovely ladies but one thing I can say is that I was utterly amazed. I'm still very speechless. I was speed reading it. But overall screw my other theory other than someone dying, I know this sounds malicious but I'm glad the bitch died. Oh I also want to point out I was cussing at Dimitri and the tears kept spilling over my eyes. It felt like my heart was breaking for Rose, I mean how couldn't it? Who else felt this way? God my heart is still racing form the trial. I kind jumped ahead when I was on my walmart adventure. I read the last four pages and WHOOPS I found out the trial part and when she said Dimitri I dropped the book on the walmart floor and started smucking screaming at the top of my lungs. Someone called the manager and had me escorted out. Yes, I got kicked out of walmart for yelling at paper. My mom got it for me anyway so I got my happy ass home and read that sucker till I was on the last page of chapter 12, I feel asleep consideirng I was tryign to beat the shit out of the security officer trying to ho,d me the smuck down. So I ended up finishing it in a total of 12 hours and 30 minutes. I also enjoyed the twist. THERE IS ANOTHER DRAGOMIR?!

YEAH ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ALL KNOWING VICTOR FINDS OUT THAT ABE IS HER FATHER! DON'T FORGET ROSE HAS ENEMIES TO. This feels like a game of clue "it was Eric ivashkov in the queens chambers with a silver stake!" Seriously though who knew that Rose was going to be out that night then alone and unaccounted for during the time of the staking? Remember Adrian showed up unexpectedly!

| Are you saying Adrian did it Jill? lol I really don't think he did it and if he did I don't think he would ahve framed Rose. Then again now that you've got me thinking, he was very hurt by her and the whole Dimitri thing. Plus spirit's darkness seems to be moving quicker in him than in Lissa-mainly cause Rose takes some of that darkness from her. Wow now I definitely don't even know what to think. I just can't believe he would have killed his aunt and frame Rose. Plus is Adrian even smart enough to wear gloves? I'm not saying the guy is dumb but if h thats e did it in his crazy mood I doubt he would have had enough sence to wear gloves. Blah now my head is spinning lol
And yes Ash i felt the same way. I can't believe you dropped SB and started screaming at it and got kicked out of walmart lmao hahahaha

| I don't think anyone WE know did it really. I keep thinking it was either Mikhail or Dimitri or a court official. Not anyone else... but my suspicions are raising towards Eddie though. I hate thinking like this, but it just isn't possible that anyone we know did it but it still is a questioning topic. Yeah I know, I try to be less reckless but I was mad already and then I read what heppens to Rose and I burst like I turned into her. Man, I must of screamed like I was being attacked, because the guards kept checking me for scratches or external bleeding, one said they knew me... sad thing is I knew him... I called out a gay guy one time and got kicked out for screaming too, me and Wal mart just don't mix. | |

| sad thing is I can so picture it all going down lol. I really can't see Eddie doing it. Even less than Adrian. The only 2 ppl I can picture doing it is Victor or someone working for him or Ambrose. But b/c I can picture that I feel liek it's going to be someone completely off the wall and unexpected which makes it all the more complicated. | |

| It's funny, someone on the Penguin Australia site pointed out that Mikhail Tanner (who was previously said to have been Sonya Karp's lover) has now become Tomas Sanders. Either that or she had two dhampir lovers, which seems impossible.
I get what you're saying Jill, that Tatiana didn't have a choice asking Rose for more opinions. But it just doesn't make sense to me. From her letter she seemed to be against lowering the age, I just don't get why she wouldn't vote against it. Sure, there were some powerful families voting for it, but tough luck to them. If more people were against it, Tatiana included, then it shouldn't have been passed. If it meant they went on to discuss other alternatives, then at least they'd be spending time arguing with each other instead of sending dhampirs to early deaths. And I know the "alternative" was to send dhampirs out at an even more ridiculous age, but they still would have had to discuss it, and then vote again, and perhaps sway people to the right side. It just makes you think, who would have killed her? When Rose was yelling at them in court, the 6 who voted against it weren't kicking up a stink much, so it makes you think they accepted that the vote went against them...and why would the other 5 bother to kill her, they got their way? Maybe one of the 6 were more angry at it than she thought, but it just seems odd.
Also with the trial, I wonder what Dimitri thought of Rose picking Abe to be her representative. Dimitri, though strigoi at the time, had made it very clear that Abe was dangerous and that Rose needed to stay away from him. Has that changed since he became a dhampir again, or was his comment about Abe being dangerous because everyone thinks he’s dangerous? Does Dimitri even know Abe is her father?

| I finally finished the book this morning and I've been dying all day to log onto Shadow Bite.
I cried. But not at what you would expect. In the beginning of the book, page 41 " 'Whoa, whoa, he said backing up, flushing. 'it figures. You're the only girl who'd get all emotional about the thought of killing. I don't even wan to think about what goes on when you and Ivashkov are alone.'" When i read that, I was soooo happy to be reading and even though i re-read the series, it's not the same. I was so happy to get to continue reading Rose's story!
Well, you all have said mostly everything! Lol. Kim, no apologizes for the super long post! I enjoyed reading it and share almost all your thoughts. Thank goodness you said that about Lissa learning to fight. I was SO super pissed about that. I mean it's kind of hypocritical of me because before i couldn't stand Lissa being so helpless. But, it was too easy. Guardians train for years. Rose had trouble learning. Granted it took Lissa a couple of tries. But quite frankly she couldn't physically have been able to do that.
I'm still in shock about Dimitri. I dont know If i love that he is back. Or hate. I know i DO hate the fact of this weird bond between him and Lissa. It made my skin crawl. I know it wasn't romantic. But i didn't like it at all. I UNDERSTAND Dimitri's reaction towards Rose. But I was almost as pissed off as Rose. I hated it. lol
Eddie! I absolutely loved his part of this. I was sad he wasn't MORE in the book.
Christian and Lissa pissed me off. I'm happy they are back together. I'm pissed off we had to deal will their immature jealously and bickering though. They are clearly madly in love with each other.
I love Mikhail!
I laughed throughout Rose's tarot reading.
I just loved the book.
The queen's death. I thought it was Dimitri actually. I don't know why. But, that's what i thought. I found the fight scene with the royal guard and Dimitri protecting Rose oh so romantic! lol.
That note the queen left Rose. OMG. Like Jill, it made me feel remorse for her( the queen). I think i like the queen now lol.
Abe! Always a pleasure. I love how Rose always says ' Oh dear, lord" when he shows up or says or does something.
SO many funny moments. So many heart racing moments. I didn't think the book was rushed, but i think it was abrupt. When i reached the last page, i turned the pages thinking there was more. I was actually waiting for my class to start, and i burst out saying SON OF A B****. Everyone officially thinks Im crazy now. lol
I can't believe it ended at a cliff hanger.

| I'm glad you don't mind the long post, I was in desperate need to get all my thoughts out, and I'm certain I've got more. I agree about Rose's reaction whenever Abe turns up (or whenever he's involved in something, like when that Tad guy gave her the computer). She seems to be one of the only people who isn't scared of him | |

| Who in the world is Tomas Sanders? I'm confused...wait is that the name that was listed in VA when they start talking about Ms Karp's lover hunting her? I'll have to get my VA bookand check it out later...
I don't think Dimitri knows Abe is Rose's father. I would really like to know wth he does. He makes everyone uncomfertable and its obvious they are all afraid of him. Plus Dimitri stated that he was dangerous and that Rose needed to stay away from him. I would love to learn more about him.
It'd be nice if richelle would write some extras for her website. Mostly other pov's. Esp Dimitri's.
I can honestly say i am excited about reading through Sydney's pov in the spin off series. She grew on me after re-reading BP and then her small appearance in SB.

| Tomas Sanders was the guardian in SB, the one that helped Rose and was in love with Ms. Karp. But ORIGINALLY the guardian who was in love with Ms. Karp and ran off to find her was Mikhail Tanner. Somehow he's switched names, OR Ms. Karp had two guardian lovers. It's in chapter 17 of VA, when they're going to the Mall/on the shopping excersion and they're in the car/bus thing and Lissa just finds out about Ms. Karp going Strigoi. | |
