| I'm not really keeping tabs on the other countries, though they seem to pop up a fair bit more than the Aussies, we don't have too many people over there. That I know of the US have a few medals, at least a gold and a bronze in the Women's and Men's Moguls (because I actually watched all of that one.) Canada won their first gold yesterday in the Moguls too. They did the pair figure skating yesterday which was dominated by the Chinese. They were amazing so they deserved to win.
I'm watching women's hockey at the moment while waiting for men's speed skating. They're not showing everything over here though...not on free-to-air tv and I can't be bothered paying for the pay-tv (cable) channel.

| Seeing Canada FINALLY get a Gold medal on home soil was wonderful. It brought joyful tears to my eyes. Otherwise, I've been suffering with stomach flu. I haven't been eating much of anything outside of chicken broth. I was starting to feel better on Saturday, and I ate solid food. Then yesterday I felt a bit worse again. Has anyone here ever felt "afraid" to eat anything? That's how I feel. I feel afraid to eat anything because I'm worried that it will either make me puke or my stomach will rebel and cause me pain. Hopefully this stupid virus goes away soon. | |

I get sick randomly and often.. stomach virus included. A nurse recommended doing this and i always do.... To see if your stomach has stopped being upset drink seltzer water. If your stomach is still sick you will automatically puke it up. If not, it will stay down . But, the radical change from not eating or eating soup-y things and then eating solids can upset the stomach. You have to transition. eat light foods and work your way back to solids.

| Thanks for the tips! I'll have to give those a try. I've been munching away on crackers and had real chicken soup with actual chicken and noodles and veggies. So far, so good, it's not come up and I haven't felt that nauseated today. I just feel weak. And I feel a cold coming on just to add insult to injury. But in a way, it's to be expected when I haven't been eating. Well, you know...eating but only soup. | |

| If you were in Australia I'd tell you to eat Vegemite Toast, because it's salty it's really good on upset stomachs....but I know a lot of non-aussies can't handle Vegemite anyway | |

| I have been hoping for work lately so I can pay my bills. Crap That reminds me I have to mail some tomorrow. Whoever invented bills should die a slow and painful death. | |

| Lol, i hear ya about the bills. My dad is opposed to me working since I'm in college. Actually i wanted to work since i was 16 but he wouldn't allow it. When i was 18 i wanted to work but was so hard to find a job with the lack of experience and my schedule. All the years of his policy is really hindering me though. i really really want to work but it's hard to find a job with my lack of experience. So I've been throwing myself in school stuff....building up references atleast. Probably will do a bunch of volunteer work to help with the lack of experience. I did TONS of volunteer stuff in highschool but they were all so radical, like for two years i volunteered in a bookstore... my job descriptions was to go to ALLLL the protests and to read their weekly newspaper. The problem is everyone there is a volunteer and the people that knew me, no longer work there. | |

| Secret, is Vegemite in any way related to Marmite? I just had to have a sniff of marmite and I knew, it wasn't the food for me. But I had a friend who was addicted to Marmite. darkangel - I'm sorry to hear of your job woes. I hope things turn around for you and you get something steady. Peacelove - Good luck with your job and volunteer stuff. Are there any organizations around that 'match' what you want to do in the future? Like say you wanted to be in teaching, maybe there's an elementary school where you can volunteer? Wilda - I hope your kids and you feel better soon. I had the stupid thing for nearly a week. Keep your fluids up. Flat ginger ale helped me. But make sure it's FLAT. Sounds gross, but it is a good grandma cure. That and clear broths (chicken or beef consomme). The broth not only gives you fluid but also electrolytes. During my illness, I only threw up the one time. But I had diarrhea. Before I threw up, I think I had a fever because I was shivering really badly, even in fleecy pyjamas, flannel sheets and a space heater on. After I threw up, the fever must have gone away because I wasn't shivering anymore and I could sleep. Then there was the body pain. I felt like I was hit by a bus. Really awful. I hope yours is mild and merciful and finishes quickly. | |

It's sort of like Marmite, only way better...stronger and has more flavour. And I'm pretty sure they're made a bit differently.

| Sprite seems to be helping the kids better than the ginger ale. The kids are finally getting back to normal and starting to eat some. My son is still throwing up a little but I've got him drinking pedialite to help replinish the nutrients he's lost. He's running around playing right now. So far I've only had the body aches, cramps and hot and cold flashes. I feel a lot better today so hopefully thats the most I'll see of it. Everyone finally got a good nights sleep in last night and I was able to sleep in my own bed. | |

| I'll try to watch Ed Edd N Eddy, since that series has less stupidity in it, than most of the Vamp-induced literature that ended up failing, hard. | |

| I'm terrible with coming up with names Wilda- Yay! glad your little ones are feeling better and yay for sleep. I was having a really awesome sleep until my mom called and woke me up. LOL about summer school. My school's winter session ( 6 weeks) just ended and all my friends are ecstatic for the two weeks off. I"m not. That means I have to go back to school for the spring semester ( 12 weeks) in two weeks. | |

| Wow! I feel like I have missed a lot. I had to take an essay test today for a really hard class. It wasn't pleasant I also had to make my schedule for next year and I decided to take art classes instead of AP classes. I bet my AP teacher is thrilled. | |
