I agree they are dodgy and I don't trust them, but I can't figure out their motive per se. Maiwenn doesn't want her to birth the next heir, so despite all the sex I don't think Kiyo is trying to knock her up. If they wanted her dead with the help of Kiyo they could have pulled it off. So does anybody have any thoughts as to what their up to? Why would Maiwenn purposely let Kiyo the father of her baby be sexually involved with another woman, what could she possibly have to gain from it?

Well after what he did...well what he didn't do after he found out that Eug was raped....

I agree it's too bad he stopped her I would have liked to see Eugene blast Leith full of lightening all the while suffocating him!

But I'm glad Dorian put his gift to good use! I love Dorian

Dorian is a sweet heart no matter how bad ass he tries to be. Though when he killed leith he was a bad ass!!
I want to see Dorian castrate kiyo! Because when the truth come out I'm going to hate kiyo ten times more than I do leith.

I didn't think it would be possible (I read VA first) but I actually love this series more. Don't get me wrong I love VA too. RM puts so much thought into her worlds you can taste it. Did anyone else find it hard to be distracted by life? I felt sick when pulled back to reality, I hated to put them down. Even the side characters have so much presence. I am not a fan of Kiyo either, so self absorbed. Anyone that takes from a woman and leaves them unsatisfied speaks volumes to me. Dorian on the other hand would never do that. I adore him. He's so thoughtful, knows just how much to interfere, honest/blunt, hides life's hurts with humour. I guess when Kiyo reaches near 200 years old (however old he is) some of those things might wear off on him too, but I doubt it, too many animal instincts.

Yup, you could take me over to the otherworld and drop me off in Dorians kingdom and I'd be quite happy for the rest of my life. Perpetual autumn and a perfect king (his imperfections make him that much more perfect) *sigh* Heaven.

yeah I would be content being Dorian's lover. (willingly) especially if a brazillion intrigues him. lol that part was so funny.

Does this story have at least as much plot as the Demonata series?

not sure about the demonta series but yes this one does. all of Richelle's books are fantasy romance plots. The romance is always the main plot of the characters but there is also intriguing story lines connected to the plot.

So for those of you who have read the books thus far, I gotta ask myself why on earth would Kiyo "just so happen to be at the same bar as Eugene?" because his hotel was quite a ways away from the bar in fact another "coincidence" his hotel was near where Eugene lived. Why on earth would he purposely follow her to the bar then accidentally get to know her? if he wanted to get her pregnant he wouldn't always be using the condoms that is not his or Maiwenn's intentions. I wonder if he was planning on killing her, then got to know her better and started to like her? That theory however doesn't really acknowledge Maiwenns role though. What ever the true reason is she is behind it. I just don't by the fact that they met in a bar by chance, he was staking her out, most definitely.

Ooo I saw these books on amazon for super cheap. Like 6 bucks. Don't know if that's the normal price of it's part of amazon's bargain books sale but I'm scheming to buy them, i can't pass up those prices.

Does the Dark Swan Series have a plot?

Yes and it is a great plot!! Though at times I think it's more graphic than the Succubus series in terms of content... shockingly. Eugenie is so hardcore.

Do they even have crowning moments of awesome within the series, along with dying moments of awesome, for that matter?

Don't forget Carter!! He may technically be an angel, but he knows how to make secret clubs fun.

its a shame richelle doesn't write any books from a male perspective because her male characters are always spot on, and intriguing.
