| Isn't that cover just about the best thing ever? It makes me all giggly and excited!
I think I'll probably end up getting the VA one, but right now I don't know.

| I know for damn sure I'm getting the VA one... not sure about Dark Swan though. At least not yet. I'm iffy on the comic issues. I'd rather have the entire thing together rather than have to buy a bajillion comics. But who knows how long it'll be before the compiled DS comics will be out...? | |

| I was just thinking about that last night Ash. I doubt I'll get the comic issues. I think I'd rather wait until the full graphic novel comes out. | |

Annnd.... because I apparently have a subscription with Sea Lion Books (who are adapting the Dark Swan books into graphic novels) I was sent an email about it's upcoming release and spotted these...
Pictures from the Storm Born graphic novel!!

Eugenie in her car
Warning: these pictures are of Kiyo and Eugenie about to do dirty things. (Bleh!! lol)
More here...
...and here. More pics from the graphic novel!! Eugenie meeting KiyoEugenie with a gunWhy don't they show Dorian?! He's as vital to book 1 as Kiyo is... except he's not a bastard. It's because Dorian got the poster, isn't it?

| lmao I was about to go check the mail but got online and realized the radio chat with Richelle was happening in about a minute. So I stayed at the computer to listen for 30 minutes about them talking about Dark Swan being made into a comic/graphic novel. About the only new info I gathered was that they mentioned there will be 8 comic issues. And for now only book 1 will be turned into a graphic novel to see how the reception is for this adaptation. I'm guessing if it receives well, they'll continue adapting the rest of the series. So... I think this is how it'll be: 4 comic issues of Storm Born released this summer (the first half of the novel) and then volume 1 of the graphic novel (the compilation) will be released soon after. And then probably the same cycle again for the second half of SB. Not certain, but this is what I'm getting from what they said. Wish they would explain better... Edit: Tweets between RM and Grant Alter, the guy who works on the comics with Sea Lion Books, further explaining the thing about the comic issues: http://twitter.com/#!/grantalter/status/51049439401480193Update: The chat is now online and is about 30 minutes long. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/circle-of-seven/2011/03/24/readers-entertainment-radio | |

| I'm not sure if I'm going to get the comic. Like I said... I don't wanna have to buy a whole bunch. I'd much prefer just the compilation. But then like... if nobody buys it they might not make the rest of the books. And I'd definitely like to see Thorn Queen made comic style. F*ck Iron Crowned though. | |

| At least you'll have the option of getting it. As far as we all know it's only being released in the US. | |

| Richelle just posted Shadow Heir's description which will be released January 2012 DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST 3 BOOKS AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED - Spoiler:
SHADOW HEIR
#1 New York Times bestselling author Richelle Mead returns to the Otherworld, a mystic land inextricably linked to our own--and balanced precariously on one woman's desperate courage...
Shaman-for-hire Eugenie Markham strives to keep the mortal realm safe from trespassing entities. But as the Thorn Land's prophecy-haunted queen, there's no refuge for her and her soon-to-be-born-children when a mysterious blight begins to devastate the Otherworld...
The spell-driven source of the blight isn't the only challenge to Eugenie's instincts. Fairy king Dorian is sacrificing everything to help, but Eugenie can't trust the synergy drawing them back together. The uneasy truce between her and her shape shifter ex-lover Kiyo is endangered by secrets he can't--or won't--reveal. And as a formidable force rises to also threaten the human world, Eugenie must use her own cursed fate as a weapon--and risk the ultimate sacrifice...
My thoughts: - Spoiler:
I'm worried about this "truce" with Kiyo. I don't trust the ass at all especially when he's keeping secrets from Eugenie.

Far out! Is Eugenie ever going to learn? Kiyo's an arse and she needs to stay away from him! I can't believe there's a truce at all! Ugh!

hahahahaha - Spoiler:
I hope the reason for this so called "truce" is a damn good one. I can't imagine EVER trusting someone who tried to kill me along with his unborn babies. Ack! It's disgusting!

The problem is Eugenie seems pretty stupid when it comes to love and trust. I mean, I know she's been through a tough life, but I hate that she can't see Kiyo's an arse! How hard can it possibly be to stay away from the guy trying to manipulate and kill you?

I've noticed a lot of girls seem to lose the ability to think and be smart when it comes to guys But to overlook someone trying to kill you? Thats a bit extreme even for Eugenie.

| Is that the official cover? I actually have no idea what cover I'll end up getting. I have the UK for the first two and the US for Iron Crowned...depends on where I buy it from eventually. | |

| Oh...it's not a bad cover, but I hate when the author isn't the one to announce it. It's bound to be announced soon though if it's already online. | |

| Yeah it sort of takes the excitement out of it when it's circulating before the author gets a chance to reveal it properly.
I don't think it's a bad cover, and I like the color of it, but it's annoying when they keep changing cover models. None of the US covers for Dark Swan have the same Eugenie.

| They aren't the same on any of the UK covers either...that doesn't bother me too much though. | |
