| lol Glad you get to go home early Ash! Enjoy your long weekend So, this week just keeps getting better and better. My son woke up from his nap puking everywere this afternoon. He seems to have some kind of stomach virus. He's drinking plenty of fluids, but he won't eat and when he finally did eat some soup tonight, it came back up about an hour later : / Of course that could be b/c he was drinking too much too fast. He finally fell asleep a few minutes ago on the couch. Hopefully he's done throwing up and gets a good nights sleep. I hate seeing him so miserable and me not really being able to do anything | |

| Kim: Haha yeah, guilt gone. But I actually wouldn't be all that surprised if nobody showed up to math. Either way, I won't be finding out because I won't be there!! Commence Kirby Dance!! <(^.^<) <(^.^)> (>^.^)> It is great to be home. It feels like it's been months when it's only been 10 days. Feels like so much has changed... and then nothing at all. lol But ugh. I'm so tired after today. It's not even 10 pm and I'm sleepy. And so much for catching up on the last couple episodes of True Blood. The DVR is broken or something and hasn't been recording anything lately. Argh. Ohh Wilda, I hope your son feels better soon!! Best to stick with the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). Oh, and saltine crackers are good too. | |

| Well I woke up at 7:30 this morning and I've had kind of a full day. lol I'd love to stay up until like 5 am but if I do I'll mess up my schedule and it'll be a hard time getting to class next week. But who knows. Probably by tomorrow night I'll be up late again anyway. | |

| Ash-LOL That Kirby dance is cute!
Libby-Sorry your having a bad week. My finger has randomly done that a couple of times. My hubby said it was from popping a blood vessel. I think it took a few days to a week to go back to normal. Hope your finger gets better soon!
Thanks ladies. My son seems to be feeling much better this morning. He didn't throw up during the night so hopefully he's over it. He's only been up 45 minutes though so only time will tell.

| Ash- you made me laugh so much with "okay i'm over it"..lol Hope you have a fun weekend at home, even if you go to sleep early you still have all morning and day with your family.
Wilda- hope your son is on the mend. I hate so much when children are sick. It's so sad to me even if its something like a cold. Their just so little and i feel so helpless. I even hate when the hubby is sick. It sucks to be on the sidelines when your loved ones are ill. But it'll pass and i hope it passed quickly.
Libby- Hope your finger gets better soon. I agree with Wilda, it think its a blood vessel . If it was sprained or broken or fractured it would of be very painful. But, in a day or two if it doesnt start going away or getting better you should go to a doctor. It could be possible it WAS broken and it needs to be reset or something. The hubby has broken both his hands at different times several times and had several hand injuries. he isn't is a doctor but he is insistent if its not hurting and if the swelling goes down, then it'll heal on its own regardless of what happened to your finger.
Everyone- i finished reading blood lines! I have to go get ready for the hubby's docs appointments so i'll be back later to jump in on all the blood lines talk :-)

| sorry for the double post but i have great news
So the hubby n I went to his oncologist today. We were with her for a very long time talking about how sick the hubby got, the allergy attacks, the ER visit just everything. The hubby teases me cause i write everything down in this little blue pocket planner, its a calendar. So he was like "babe take out your blue book" and it was so much the doc was like" just give it me". I never expected anyone to look at it so now when i write it, i try to write legible... the writer in me was mortified that someone saw that chicken scratch of writing lol. She changed almost everything. She said she thinks in her gut that the allergy attacks are from the chemo and she feels its going to happen again. But she said as long as its tolerable and not life threatening ( which means his tongue and throat dont swell up) and he can deal with it, we keep on with the chemo. SHe said the fact that an attack happen is actually a good sign of his immune system. It means he's immune system is hyperactive and that means its working extra hard on cancer cells. It's weird. She changed all his other meds, to help lessen allergic reaction... so for this round of chemo he will be on two new anti-nausea meds, one of them also helps migraines. And she told me only give him Excedrin now for migraines, as soon as it happens. And she gave a prescription, stronger bendryal, for the allergies along with a steroid in the event he has an allergic reaction. So we are armed with a batch of new meds.
But the good news, we asked about the cancer itself. She said there is no sign of the cancer, it looks like its in remission form his MRI's .So that is GREAT news. She said if the hubby gets too sick this chemo, then she may just terminate treatment after an MRI next month. SHe said he's been stable and if the next MRI is good then it's not even worth putting the hubby through all that sickness if his cancer is stable in remission. SO we're so excited and I'm so proud of him.
We have an appointment monday with the allergy specialist but the hubby wants me to call and reschedule cause its a holiday and quite frankly i want him to be able to enjoy it, my family is coming over and we are having a bbq. So in the morning i'll call and see if i can reschedule for the next day. I hope i can.
I'm sad to say our great news/day was ruined. My dad. I know i dont talk much about my dad anymore, and you all know how close i was to my dad. But he's real ill ...mentally. Now, i just give him his meds, his food and dont interact or engage with him at all anymore. I just can't. I dont have it in me. he is just nasty and fighting and he'll have no recollection of it. he has no common sense whatsoever. He doesn't understand. And he'll fight and fight. He's making life in my house miserable. My mother scheduled a doctors appointment which his primary doctor. We hate to do it,, but we going to ask to medicate him. We want to send him to a neurologists but we already know what caused this and what they said. " he'll recover in time" That's what the hospital told us after his stroke/heart surgery. But its so bad we're hopeful something else is causing this or hear something rather than "he'll recover in a year".
And before my dad's fit, our good friend got arrested. He works with my brother, lives around the block from us, is over every day. He's like family. My brother and him were driving home, separate cars but still drive in speed with each other. They were messing around a bit, tailgating each other. But the highway was coming up so our friend speed up and went in front of my brother and thats when he got pulled over for reckless driving. They dragged him out the car, patted him down and arrested him. My mom was flipped out "that's my nephew we just got out of work he's not drunk, he's not high". So he's locked up right now and we had to go over his house and tell his mother and the cops told my mom and brother he would be out by tonight but his family called the precinct and they said maybe morning.
THe hubby and him are real good buddies so he is super upset right now. My hubby wanted to celebrate with him and my brother..their like bash brothers they hang out everyday and play video games or god knows what boys do lol. No matter how sick the hubby is, he'll sit up and chill with them almost everyday even if its for 20 minutes or so. So the hubby is real upset and he's upset he can't get good news without the bad news for once. :-(

| Tasha- I've already said it on fb, but its such good news that I'll say it again. Thats it great news about the cancer. Hopefully he doesn't ahve anymore allergic reactions and is taken off the chemo next month. I'm SO happy for you guys. I'm sorry about the friend getting arrested and all and that your hubby didn't get to celebrate like he wanted to. And I know I keep saying I'm sorry, but I'm really sorry about your dad. I can only imagine what it's liek for you and even that isn't anything compared to the real thing. I'm always here if you want to talk though. You can pm me here, fb or text me. HUGS! | |

| Thank you loves <3
We had a little celebration yesterday. And i had a talk with the hubby this morning. Because all day yesterday and Thursday he was walking around "i'm cancer free" and while his cancer is in remission, he is still in treatment. And since its stage 3 in the future we have to look out for it coming back. His doctor hopes it wont me for many many years, or at all, but still i didnt want him to forget that. So this morning i spoke to him about it. I was worried he would crash real hard and be disappointed because he's walking around saying " I'm healthy" and all that. But as you guys know the chemo makes him severely sick and his oncologist anticipates him to keep getting allergic reactions. So i dont want him to be unprepared and blindsided. We spoke about it this morning and he know he still is going to be sick and all that but he said he is better equipped to handle it now. So now i feel tons better and happier.
I called the allergy specialist to reschedule his appointment, because the appointment is on Monday, Labor Day and he doest want to miss the festivities at my house and after all he's been through i think he deserves to have some fun with my family. He's really excited about it. So i called and the receptionist told me the doctor isnt even in on Monday and in fact she isnt the doctor's secretary so she cant reschedule my appointment, I'll have to call back Tuesday when the doctors secretary is in. Stuff like that pisses me off. Why make an appointment on a day the doctor isnt even there? I understand human errors, maybe they were really busy when i called to make the appointment. But then as professional, in my eyes, you double check your work when things wind down right? What if i never called to reschedule? And we went to the appointment? I would of be soooo heated and angry in the office if i spent money i dont have on cab fare to get there and the doctor wasnt even in. It's so annoying and unprofessional and i have zero tolerance for it.

| Tasha: That's crap! Who schedules appointments when they're not even going to be in? I hope you give them a piece of your mind on tuesday. Ugh, I'm frustrated with Goodreads...or Twitter. One of them isn't posting updates. I put them on goodreads, but they're not showing up on twitter. It's not the end og the world if they don't show up, but I would like it if the settings I have in place actually did what they were supposed to do. It's Father's Day today. Having an early lunch with my grandparents and then going to the last football game of the season (for my team at least because we didn't make the finals this year ) | |

| Double posting. Just sent out a bunch of emails to publishing houses in sydney asking if they offered work experience or internships and who to approach to apply for that. It wasn't even to actually apply for jobs or anything and I got nervous clicking send. But oh well, that part is done. Now to wait for replies and create more emails for the few publishing houses that don't say they have work experience/internships but do have specific email addresses for random employment applications (not jobs exactly, more like "hey, we've got no positions available, but you're welcome to send your resume here and we'll keep it on file for at least 12 months")...they'll be harder emails to write because I'm trying to sell myself to them *sigh* I've got 80% of that email formed...it's getting the last few words out that I'm struggling with. Anyway, onto lighter notes. Going to a Football presentation night tonight. It's this private event at my Footy Club's home base. My pop was supposed to go, but he had some doctor's appointment instead. So my dad and are I going. Should be fun, getting to see all my fave players dressed up in suits Hope everyone is having a good day. | |

| Oh Kim best of luck to you! I hope the inquiring emails pay off. I admire you being proactive about the job seeking. Hope you have fun at the football presentation!
I've had a hectic couple of days. Today i spend my morning on the phone for the hubby's doctors and medication. Then we just watched Supernatural season two to try to relax but the busyness of the rest of the week. We're avoiding each other now, the hubby and I, cause i made him a dentist tomorrow cause his tooth has been acting up. And the dentist is booked until October so i told them he's having a toothache ( which is mostly true, he had a toothache all weekend but it's going away and the pain comes and goes) so they said he can come in first thing tomorrow morning. That's what the hubby is upset about. He has a fantasy football thing tonight thats going to run late. And then we have to get up extra early to get to the early appointment. He doesnt want to do it. But, he starts his next chemo cycle thursday which is why i'm insistent on keeping the appointment cause then he will be sick for two weeks and unable to go if he needs too and its unnecessary extra stuff to go through with all the stuff he goes through with treatment. But he's being stubborn and we're avoiding a fight. I bet you all a dollor we dont go to the dentist tomorrow.
Oh and i called a different allergy specialist and scheduled an appointment. I'm still mad at the other office for booking an appointment when the doctor wasn't even in. Plus when you call their office you rarely get an answer , you get the "office is closed" answer machine message even though its clearly within office hours. So this new allergy specialist actually was my first choice because of location but i got annoyed with him because he literally works in one office 3 hours a week.. he has 6 offices. So when i originally called to make an appointment it was like playing hide and seek with the guy, figuring out what office he is in and what days and if they had openings. BUt i scheduled the appointment in two weeks ( so its after the hubbys worst chemo days), so there was openings.

| Tasha: can't say I blame your hubby for wanting to avoid the dentist But if he's got a sore tooth then he definitely needs to go. I'm glad you've got an allergy appointment with the doctor you wanted now, even if it took a while. | |

| finger's still bad. seen the doc, got blood tests and getting an x ray nxt wk.
I was going to appy for another bank job but I can't think of what to for my cover letter. usually something in the job descrip makes me think of something. not happening this time.
Good luck with your queries kim.
Went to the dentist last week cause a tooth that got filled in july hurt. it was balanced properly so the dentist fixed it for free and its ok now. it wasn't too bad.

| Libby: I do the same thing when applying to jobs, use something from the job description. I think that's why I've been having so much trouble with these emails, because I'm not applying to anything specific, just sort of begging for work (in the nicest/least obvious way possible). Good Luck your your applications too and I hope your doc finds a way to fix your finger. | |

| Gah! Nervous. Just got off the phone from one of the places I emailed today. They *might* be able to give me work experience if it turns out I have Work Insurance. So tomorrow I have to ring a few health funds etc. to see if I'm covered for work insurance and then I can contact this lady again. It'll mean over 2 hours of travel each day (an hour there and back) but if I get work experience I can apply to more places. Any bit of experience would be better than nothing, although getting a job (and being paid) would probably be better than work experience too. Anyway, needed to let out the nervousness.
...And now I have to start getting ready for the presentation tonight. I'll think about work experience tomorrow.

| Thats great Kim! I know i have a hard time looking for a job because I dont have work experience so it's a really great start to start gaining experience. It sucks its unpaid but its investing in your future. I hope it works out well for you and you gain enough experience to apply for the real great jobs :-D
Ash- good luck on your first test of the semester.
Soooo I'm awake. Don't know if the hubby will wake up or want to go to the dentist. I'll keep you updated on that. I highly doubt we are going to go. And the way i feel? I could go straight back to bed...lol.
edit: we're not going. the hubby's argument is he can't have open sores while on chemo. It's a good argument ill give him that. But its his toothache not mine soooo  ....wheres my pillow....

| Goodluck Kim! I hope you are able to get the experience you need. I've been applying at a bunch of different palce just so I can get some experience. Had an interview a few weeks ago, but unfurnately I didn't get it and a lot of places are emaling em back telling me I don't have enough experience. Its a bunch of bull cause how the hell are you supposed to get experience if no one will hire you?! It's frustrating.
Tasha, sorry you got up early for nothing. But like you said, its his tooth. He's the one that has to deal with the pain : /
Goodluck on your first test Ash!
Libby, I hope your finger gets better soon!
