What's everyone up to?

Kim. I'm sorry to hear the radiation treatments aren't helping much. Have they considered chemotherapy as well? I don't know how the healthcare system is or works in your part of the world, but i know here in NY it's really hard to find good doctors and care. I got so lucky with the hubby. Sometimes it's easy to be complacent with doctors and what they say. But, sometimes there is a better or different doctor out there that may be better to access and treat your daddy. Just keep that in mind! I'm extra sensitive about this issue especially since my friend's mother received such bad care. They found a tumor on her kidney and the first doctor told her she would need to have her kidney removed. She went for a second opinion and they did proper tests and decided she just needed to get the tumor removed via surgery and most likely wont need cancer treatments. Such radical difference in opinions.

I hope everyone is well. I wanted to post more but my laptop is burning and I'm too lazy to get up and get the cooling pad. Lol. So i'll be back later to update ya'll :-)

Kim, I'm sorry to hear that they don't seem to think there is anything they can do. I agree with Tasha about multiple opinions though. You never know if you'll come across one who can help. No matter what though, we're hear for you. You can tweet me on twitter and it'll come directly to my phone and I'll be on in a heartbeat. *HUGS*

Tasha: Originally we were told he'd have the posibility of surgery if he wasn't so weak. The stomach cancer was making everything come back up and he started to get super nervous about eating anything at all, so basically stopped all together. Then when they found the liver cancer too, surgery was put on the back burner because they had to work out 2 spots. He was way too weak for chemo and still is. We've got this SUPER nice doctor and an even nicer nurse looking after him at the moment, so I think we're getting the right treatment. My aunty and uncle have sat in on all the doctor conferences so my nan wouldn't miss anything (or misinterpret anything, because we're 90% sure that's what happened at the start when we all thought he'd be having surgery.)

My dad's going to visit the doctor some time this week, probably not to actually discuss my Pop's condition, but to get a note from him to give to their travel insurance company so my parents can cancel their trip to Europe. They were supposed to go away in 2 weeks for about 5 weeks, but they don't want to leave now, despite how many times my pop has said "You have to promise me you'll go." There's no way they're leaving Australia.

On a completely different note, I reckon it's going to be a good week, busy, but good. My football team won yesterday (both Junior and Main squad), which always means a good week. Claudia Gray signing tomorrow, Hunger Games and Internship! By Friday I think I'll be ready to collapse.

I doubt I'll be as busy as you are, Kim. Tuesday I've got an appointment at the casting department in Disney. I'm not sure what I'll be doing cause I've already signed all the papers online. And then The Hunger Games Friday afternoon. Other than that, it should be a typical week for me. I hope you have a great week. Wow, so many stories...just got through reading everything on this page and now my head hurts, ugh. Or maybe that's from all the sugar? -shrugs- i dunno, but what I do know is this: THG IS THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!! We won't see it this week, but definitely next week, me, my mom and my sister are going to go see it. I read the whole series in less than a week and it's AMAZING!!!! I just read them back to back. The Epilogue of The Mockingjay is amazing! I can't believe Katniss!!! With Peeta!!!! eeeeek!!!!!! -squeals!- anyways, enough of my freak out.

As for everyone: I'm sorry that there's been ups and downs for all of you. I honestly had mine when Stevan left and I blacked out for a week and had my split personality kiss Shea (Domino's) just to bring my back -wrinkles my nose at the thought- yeah, I'm glad they care about me, but still, did they have to kiss to bring me back??? Apparently it was a last resort thing. And yeah, I have a split personality, she's like, the voice in my head and she uses my body sometimes, but it's okay. We balance each other sometimes, she's...comforting. Now I understand why they did it: they were both lonely without me. Great, now i gotta stay strong and try not to black out again -.-' but it's under control. I'm getting strong again and things are okay. School is utterly boring as usual, but oh well, I'll deal.

Kim. Hope things go well with the doctors. You might want to ask the doctors if surgery is the best bet, then stopping treatment may be the best way to get your dad's strength up. I've known several people in the waiting rooms that went that route It was one of the last things the hubby's oncologist told us too. " build up strength without treatment and prepare for surgery" (when she thought he had another tumor or the old one was growing back) I spoke to the hubby and he said treatment is anything but comfortable... it makes you feel so much worse. Even though it's helping kill the affected areas... other areas get taken out with it. I'm not sure how different food/diet is in your part of the world. But what gets Omar through the not being able to eat and keep food down... applesauce. and soup. Something light and easy on the stomach. Applesauce rarely hurt him and he rarely even threw it up. It coats the stomach too. Matter of fact I have a book I'm going to look for it. It goes through varies types of cancers and offers specific remedies for each type of cancer and it's effects.

Wilda- i told you congrats on facebook but congrats again! I'm SO happy for you! Keep us updated!

I've been alright. Just so busy. Haven't done much though. Just chores, housekeeping, cooking.. taking care of the dog. Yet i never have time to relax. It's crazy. Oh I got my friend a job. One of my childhood friends , she works for a nonprofit organization. They were looking for someone bilingual so i referred him to her. Since he was someone i know, my friend put in the recommendation to the HR department. And he got the job ( he aced the interview it wasn't just cause i referred him). SO he's making 15 bucks an hour at a cool organization. But, now i got the green monster on my shoulders. I'm jealous! Not that he got the job. BUt now he works with MY friend everyday. And then they had a raffle at their job.. for tickets for the hunger games! They both won one ticket for the hunger game premiere. They are going together obviously. And since it's premiere night it's not likely to get tickets to the same showing as them. So i'm jealous. Soooo jealous.

Kim - I'm really sorry about your grand dad. I hope the doctors figure something out and he gets better.

Wilda- congrat! a job at disney sounds awesome.

Just realised I don't have friends who live in the country and really like the hunger games.
I'll have to wait for to see it til nxt week with one who's sort of into it but hasn't read the books.
I want to see it this week!
Had another really busy week. studying part time but working quite a lot of hrs.
Can't wait til Easter break.

Tasha- that's awesome that you helped a friend get a job, btu I definitely understand being jealous of him getting that ticket! I would be too. I'm sorry you haven't had time to just relax. Maybe you can take a day just for you soon? You defintiely deserve it!

Libby-How's the job going?

I found out yesterday that I have to get rid of my highlights bc they aren't subtle enough. I spent $200 last month getting my hair done and now I've got to spend another $80 to get the color stripped and redyed dark brown. I'm pissed. I just don't understand it. If I wear my hair up, you only get a couple of strands on top but whatever. Its not even the redying that bothers me, it's the fact that I spent $200 and now have to spend another $80. On top of that, the one time I would be able to go see The Hunger Games this weekend is Friday afternoon but Friday morning is the only time my stylist can do my hair so I'm stuck getting my hair done instead of going to see THG

ok, enough of my petty complaining.

Oh, I start my job on Saturday the 24th. I have to go for an 8 hour orientation. I'm guessing I'll get my schedule and all the info I need then. It's going to be a long boring day : /

THG comes out tonight!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol, sorry guys, I'm soooo hyper right now!!!! Teehee, I can't wait, I'm so excited!!! Although, I won't see it till next weekend, so please don't spoil anything for me people -sheepish smile- anyways, school is boring but I gotta get on top of my game tonight due to a lot of things that I have to turn in and what not. You should be super hyper Tania, Hunger Games was awesome. I saw it the other day at midnight. God staying up that late was tricky, especially because the movie ended at 2:30 and I had to be up at 6 the next day, but it was still amazing. My only issue was that I would have loved it to be a bit longer so we could see more of everyone together, but it followed the book really well and I loved it.

First day of internship was amazing too. Even if I'd only had 3 hours sleep the night before. I managed to stay awake just fine and even though they were only giving me little tasks to start off with and they were all like the easy boring tasks, it was heaps fun. The most important task I did was learning how to schedule sme non-fiction books for next year. I actually had to plan a few release dates (although it was only a draft, so they might not be the official releases) And they got this shippment of Bear Slippers in to promote one of the children's book (Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleep) and they gave me a pair too. I hadn't even been working there for more than an hour before I got something awesome

Tasha: it's not a good option for him. He's 89, so everything is risky. Apparently he was supposed to be able to go home and rest this week, but now he's got really sick (like vomiting etc.) so they're keeping him in and isolated from other patients. They should have kept him on a drip for longer, they keep taking him off it to see how he'll go on his own, but he just forgets to keep hydrated.

Libby: Thanks, we're all keeping our fingers crossed for that too.

Wilda: I'm sorry you have the change your hair again and I think it's perfectly fine to vent a bit. You spent a lot of money on it, you have the right to be annoyed. I hope the first day goes fantastically for you. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Wilda- i don't think it's petty venting. You have a right to be angry. Like Kim said it's alot of money. I would of bluntly told them it has to wait until my first paycheck lol. I hope training went well and I can't wait to hear all about it!

Kim- I'm sorry to hear about your daddy. I hope he starts feeling some relief soon and will be able to come home. Even though sickness doesnt go away, something about being home always makes you feel so much better. Your internship sounds SO amazing! I would love to work in a place like you are! I hope it keeps getting better and better. This is great experience for you and I'm so happy for you!

About the hunger games... i'm dying inside to see it! But, i just dont have money for it right now :-( But, i'm SO happy for everyone that is seeing it and loves it! I'm actually happy everyone is getting to see it. I"m new to the hunger games, having just read the books a few weeks ago. I can't imagine the wait and anticipation you all went through!

But, remember the friend I told ya'll about.. that i got him a job with my friend? And he won tickets with my friend to see the hunger games. Not only was tickets to see the hunger games but it was special early screening for yesterday! So my green monster of jealously go SO much bigger :-) Lol

Tasha: I think we got some wires crossed. It's not my dad, but my granddad. My Dad's dad. Not that that makes much of a difference, it's still hard to deal with, but I wouldn't be able to function if it was my dad. That's why I've been admiring you for so long, you had to deal with your dad AND your hubby at the same time.

Ohhh i thought it was your dad since you said "Pop"....cultural difference mishap lol. Either way, he's still a family member and a loved one so it must be difficult for you and your family and I think you all are handling it very well. We're all here for you though! I hope things get much better for ya!

Speaking of my dad and hubby... next week is going to be crazy busy. I finally made an appointment for the hubby to meet with his new doctor and figure out what's what with his cancer/treatment. ANd my dad has an appointment... he has to go for a procedure to check his colon, make sure the colon cancer he had didnt come back. But the procedure isn't set yet, just a consultation with the specialist. I'm starting to very much hate appointments. Which is why I put them off for so long. But, i suppose it's time. I suppose it's time to start moving past all this sickness too. I know the hubby is still pretty sick most days but he's okay for the most part. I have to start looking into volunteering to gain experience so i can get a job. Real world sucks lol.

Lol, yeah, I realised that might have caused some confusions.

The real world really does suck sometimes.It's a bit crappy when you have to go through so many consultations before anything official happens. I hope all the appointments go well.

Double post. So my intern day has changed. They couldn't offer me Thursdays anymore, so I'm now interning on Tuesdays. aka, tomorrow. I'm pretty excited again because it means everything's fresh in my mind still from Thursday and it also means when looking for a part-time job I won't be have to say "No, sorry, I can't do Thursday late-night-shopping" (not that I really want to do the late shift, but at least it'll be an option.)

I've been good, and yes, things are kinda crazy for me. Hmm...some of my actions aren't as great as they should be, but hey, I'm trying -sheepish smile- sometimes I do things that revolve around a guy, but believe me when I say he's real sweet and adorable. anyways, school's fine, somewhat boring, but yeah. I'm rewriting my story and changing things up a little bit. I feel sooo amazing!!! I went to see The Hunger Games on Saturday!!!!! (: teehee! It was awesome, some parts were disappointing though :/ but oh well (: it was great! I can't wait for Catching Fire!!!!! Eek!!!!!! *hugs back* so, I met this guy last night, his name is Ryan, and he's AMAZING! Yeah, I'm such a sucker for love, but I really like him and he likes me and we live somewhat close to each other, so that's a good thing (: and I will be safe, I promise. But with Ryan, everything is good. Even though we just started talking, I can tell things will be okay, but there's this small part of me that wants to wait it out and see where this takes us (: I want this to be special, I want it to last. So I'm gonna take my time (: and HG is amazing, go see it this weekend and we can have this whole discussion on the things that disappointed us or the things we liked (: later Sammy!

I'm not sure exactly when I'm going to see HG hopefully soon and that's great! I really hope it works out!

It's been a long couple of days. I had Disney orientation on Saturday and Animal Kingdom orientation on Sunday. Then I had my first day of training yesterday (Monday). It was an exhausting 3 days. Most of yesterday was computer learning for safety and stuff but i finally got to start learning how to operate the ride. It was actually fun. I think I'm going to like it there. I'm off today and tomorrow but I have to go in and learn how to open on Thursday then I'm off Friday and back in first thing Saturday morning. I checked my schedule for next week and it shows me off every single day. idk if they have decided to spare me the Easter rush or if it's a mistake. I'll have to ask when I go in Thursday. Sorry I can't respond to everyone right this minute, I've got a lot to do today. Hope everyone is great!

Wilda: I'm so glad your orientation went well, although I'm sorry you're so tired I hope you are still working next week, because it'd be nice to keep up a routine already.

My last day of training was supposed to be today, but my trainer called in sick, and they couldn't find an available trainer so they sent me home. I now have to go in early tomorrow instead of having tomorrow off. But thats ok, cause i need to learn how to open and do the ride by myself. My assment is Saturday morning and then Saturday afternoon, I'm on my own I'm SOOOOO nervous. I watched a girl open this morning and I can't even tell you half of the things she did. Oh and I am not off next week. It was a simple mistake b/c technically, my training won't be complete Saturday. I have another ride to learn btu it's more complicated and they are short on trainers and being that next week is the week of Easter, the park will be even busier so they won't be doing training that week. My training for that ride starts on April 16th. There's so much to take in. I'm a little overwhelmed with it all. Hopefully I'll remember everything and be ok on my own.

Wilda - I'm sure you'll be a pro at your job in no time. Disney!! Sounds so awesome.

Kim- how's your internship going?

Another busy week. Usual uni and work. Might be starting an intern ship after Easter.
Thinking about whether I can fit in the extra work. Just got one more essay to finish writing then I can start my Easter holiday

Wilda: sucks that they don't have enough people to keep the training more constant, but I'm glad you're getting the chance to learn adn you'll get the hang of things.

Libby: Internship is going well. I'm learning a lot ad having heaps of fun, even when they give me the strange, easy or pointless jobs. What's your internship for?
