| I have watched the trailer a few times. My favourite part is the Birthday party. I just love the Cullens! Alice is adorable. And they all looked great! I liked their clothes and their hair. They did a great job with Rosalie and Esme's hair. I know it's superficial, but I like getting a little girlie about those things. Basically the birthday party and the end of the book are the only things I like about NM. That whole big chunk in the middle? That part devoid of Edward and the Cullens? Yeah, that sucked. NM is my least favourite book. I like Twilight very much, and Eclipse and BD. (Can you say honeymoon?!?!) Thank you for starting this thread. It is appreciated, at least by me. | |

| See I think the Edward-less chunk in the middle is so necessary. It shows that Bella has options, a good one at that, and that she made a knowing decision. Otherwise, wouldn't people complain "she never even thought about another boy".
To me, Jacob is more multi-dimensional. Yes Edward was great b/c he made Bella more animated and interesting. But Jacob, on his own, was a great character and honestly didn't need Bella to make him swoon-worthy. I was Team Switzerland throughout the books, but now that I've read HoN and VA, I'm leaning towards the non-vamps oddly enough.

| Not me. I am 100% pro-Vamp. I found the wolves to be incredibly annoying. I didn't think they did a whole lot. They show up to fights and just growl...big deal. The wolves for me were a device for 'delayed gratification'. SM threw reams of pages and chapters filled with nothing but wolves to waste time before giving readers what they really want - more Vampires! More Edward! More Cullens! At least in my opinion.
As for Jacob? He's just comedy relief. I never considered him a serious rival to Edward. Not for a second. He is immature and pushy and just not in the same league as Edward. I doubt Bella ever considered him more than a friend or like a little brother.

| Honestly, I can't stand Twilight. I read one chapter of it, and wanted to throw it across the room. Meyer, in my opinion, cannot write properly. And Bella, ugh. I feel like I'm the only person that loves vampire literature but hates Twilight lol. | |

Not all books are for everyone, don't stress too much As for Twilight, I love it. - Quote :

I'm pretty much the same in NM. I know it has significance to Bella's minor developments in the series, but it just gets boring and repetitive. Although I do love that she hears Edward's voice and I take pleasure in the fact that Bella's really only using Jacob to get closer to Edward again. I must justify (otherwise my sisters might kill me): I never minded Jacob as a character, I just didn't want him for Bella. He wasn't mature enough for her. Although she's whiny and annoying at times, she needed someone more on her level and that was definitely Edward.

| Thank you for basically putting into words my thoughts. All through NM I kept hoping for Bella to have another hallucination. I was going through serious Edward withdrawal! | |

I was too! And I absolutely loved them. It proved she knew Edward still loved her, even if she couldn't seem to work it out consciously.

| *WARNING SERIOUS HATER BELOW* I hate Twilight. I regret spending my life reading those books. Bella is the worst role model for young teenage girls everywhere. I mean first off, when she runs into a gang of rapists, the first thing that pops in her ditzy head is to stay and fight when she is the clumsiest thing out there. YOU RUN!!! Who cares if you trip?? YOU RUN AND SCREAM AND pray that someone hears. Or actually learn martial arts. She is also dependent on a guy. We get that he is hot and your one true love and stuff but he LEFT you. Who cares what his "noble" reasons were? He left you in the forest where he told you had dangerous things living in there and he knows that she can't walk on flat ground but expects her to come out of the forest alive!! SEriously WTF!! Another thing is that STOP LEADING JACOB ON!!! if you don't want him, say so and stop messing with his feelings. YOu are not the only heart-broken one here. GOD!! she really pisses me off. lastly I think that having Jake imprint on Nessie encourages pedophiles and that is just wrong. oh one more thing is I don't get the-vampires-sparkle-in-sunlight-thing. Where the hell did that come from?? I know I wasn't forced to read the series but I really wanted to see what the craze was about and I was highly disappointed. But hey.. everyone's entitled to their own opinions so no haters please. I already have my school against me. *poor me* *sighs loudly* essa. | |

I actually agree with you there. I know it's not *meant* to be like pedophilia, but the whole imprinting thing grossed me out. When I read about the first guy imprinting on a 2 yr old, I just about lost my lunch. - Quote :

SM has explained that. She said that vampires are mythical creatures, and as such, she could do whatever the heck she wanted to with them. She wanted to break from the 'norm' of vampire lore and do something different with them. With regards to the 'gang of rapists' thing. I agree that the girl should scream...and should run. But there is a real concern if you trip and worse, if you fall. The LAST place you want to be is on the ground. If you fell and they caught up to you, you're screwed (no pun intended). There isn't a whole hell of a lot you can do when you're down on the ground, and when you're outnumbered. I was disappointed that Bella couldn't even know enough to kick one of them in the nads. That's the first thing you do. Or stomp on his instep - that move works really well if you're in high heels. Even someone with ONE self-defense lesson knows to kick the guy where it counts.

Not going to hate on you, just wanted to dispute something. He left her in view of her own house, he barely took her into the forest. It was Bella's fault for becoming lost as she tried so hard to following him, even though she knew he'd be long gone. The sparkling thing is really just an added thing by SM. Not all vampires and vampire myths are the same, she's just portraying them in the way she wants to. (just as Ballroomdancer stated above) I agree about the leading Jake on part. She really should let go of him. I know she loved him still, but she can't have both.

| I agree, Kristen Stewart was awful. In the movie her mouth is constantly open. It looks bad, and it looks like she's a mouth-breather. LOL! Robert P basically carried the movie. I wasn't too thrilled with all the changes and cuts that were made, either. - Quote :

Yes. That's me, too. If not for SM and Twilight, I wouldn't be here, in this forum.

| What annoyed me the most about KS was her obsession with over-blinking. I doubt she saw anything the entire time filming because you can't focus when you blink too much. | |

I could imagine a far worse actress for someone to fit Bella's shoes, SecretMagic[Megan Fox, anyone?]But at least if Stewart could somehow control her bad habits of drinking and smoking, and stray from the likes of Lohan and Hilton, then she might make a convincing enough Bella, in the long run, guys and ghouls.

| And like i said before, there's always worse actresses out there, if you want to find someone to fit Bella's shoes[Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, anyone?] and hope that they would make up for it, somehow.
In any case, if the Twilight novels did anything right, they made me appreciate Ginevra Molly Weasley of the Potterworld alot better, i know that much.

| I'm sorry...again. I dislike Twilight. I used to be a fan but somehow I got converted and I can no longer read that series either...>.< The movie was just purely for comedy, imo. The awkward silences made me want to laugh and I cannot handle the screaming. | |

| Oh twilight twilight. When i was a huge twilight fan i told every "it's the best AND worst book you will ever read". I'm no longer a twilight fan but at the time i fell in love with what i thought was the originality of the vampires. I fell in the love with the world created. However, in my opinion, Stephanie Meyers can't write. The English is so rudimentary and she doesn't have any outstanding writing skills( to me). Lines can be so very corny. Yet still, i was a big fan. That is, until i started reading OTHER series and twilight then lost that originality i thought it had.
I'm a huge romantic sap and the whole Bella- Edward love story kept be a fan for awhile... but now that i've found Vampire Academy and read all the books... Dmitri and Rose just blows that love story out the window. Edward and Bella got nothing on Rose and Dimitri.
But, If it wasn't for Twilight i wouldn't have read Vampire Academy. So i have sort of a love hate relationship with this series. But, if you haven't read this series yet... i think if your particularly drawn to it.. read it but don't rank it high on the list of books you have to get. Save it for a snow day or something...and don't even read the the third part of Breaking Dawn.

| Breaking Dawn isn't canon, at all, isn't it?
I guess twilight has now gone obsolete, nowadays, despite the fact of the matter that it's dated, nowadays, as the schools i attend would prove over and over, again.>_>

| Okay for starters.....I was told by alot of people to not even attempt to read the Twilight Series or watch Twilight. So, I didn't!!! I was a hardcore TrueBlood & Sookie Stackhouse novels fanatic. Then my husband buys me Twilight the movie. I liked it. I borrow my aunts Twilight books and read them nonstop to the end. One a day. I am now a MAJOR fan. But Vampire Academy has become my 2nd favorite series . Right below The Sookie Stackhouse Novels............. | |
