I'm not sure about the girls though (I take it you were talking about Adrian?). I think Shadow Kiss is a good example of how rumours can spread. I think Adrian probably went through a few girls, and it was blown out of proportion.

How I love everything about Adrian, and I do think he should be with Rose. Rose is herself with Adrian and with Dimitri she has to try and be good and something she isn't. With Dimitri she is a "child" but with Adrian she can be her true self and Adrian has seen her worst, he can see her darkness and he still lovs her. I do believe Rose likes Adrian she was just so ...obsessed with Dimitri at the time she didn't notice him. Now that Dimitri is gone I believe Rose and Adrian will get closer.

Dimitri and Rose are on more of the same level than Rose and Adrian because Rose and Dimitri are both dhampirs. In the real world they would be considered equal. But if Rose was with Adrian, they would *never* be considered equal because Adrian is a Moroi and Rose is a lowly dhampir, meant for nothing more than protecting the Moroi. Even Christian and Lissa still follow these societal standards. Lissa, Rose's best friend, still can't seem to understand what it's really like for dhampirs to live the lives they do. Adrian wouldn't be any different no matter how cool and laidback he is.

It was only in Frostbite that Dimitri treated Rose like a "child" because she was still in high school and he was trying to make her understand that a relationship between them was inappropriate. But by the end of Shadow Kiss, Rose is more of an adult than most of her peers, and Dimitri knows that she has grown and changed.

Dimitri and Rose also balance each other out. She's more out of control than he is, and he keeps her stable. Adrian is all kinds of unbalanced. And I don't think Rose was obsessed about Dimitri. She had many other things to focus on - not just Dimitri - and Adrian never seemed to be able to take no for an answer. I don't think it's a fault of Rose's for never giving him a chance. She truly loves Dimitri. Or did you forget about how she asked Adrian to compell her to kiss him?

And Dimitri has seen her worst sides. Rose never talks to Adrian about her problems with her mother. She and Dimitri have more in common with each other which is why they work well together. They understand each other. Dimitri understands things about Rose that no one else, even Lissa, would be able to understand. And Rose notices things about Dimitri that no one else would ever see, including himself.

I like dimkaluv's explanation. Dimitri and Rose do share a lot of their lives with each other, and it suits them. It's nice they have someone close to open up to (or...it was nice at least)
At the same time I understand where AdriansAngel is coming from when she says that Rose is able to be herself around Adrian. I see that too, but I don't think that means she doesn't open up to anyone else. I think she takes comfort in the fact that Adrian picked up on so many of her emotions without her having to tell him herself. She doesn't have to open up to him because he sees her already so she doesn't have to let down her pre-existing guards to explain herself to him. With that in mind I don't think that means Dimitri doesn't see her differently, I think he just struggles occasionally to understand some of her emotions, but it's encouraging to know he pushes her to open up to him. He wants to know her emotions.

I have to confess at first I didn't like Adrian...I know I know eek right..but as I got further into the series I understood him more and more. I think he really does love her, after all he didn't kiss Rose when she asked him to compell her. He could of, and that is love. Also he doesn't just fall into her at the end of SK when she uses how he feels about her to get his help. He doesn't want to push her, I think what he wants from her is a longer, lasting, loving, caring relationship.

However Dimitri is better suited for Rose than Adriane is. I say this because he got her to open up to him..even when she couldn't with Lissa. He is her stability, and she is his lose of control. They are Soul Mates..in its truest form. When she stands at the opening to the cave and see's him get bitten, she feels like a part of her is Soul is taken. That is not obsession that is love, and I think that even is she finds him..she will hesitate. Cos after all he told her she would..most that are turned are people they know..I can't wait for BP to find out what happens.

After saying that about Dimitri, if Rose does kill him I think she will return to school..back to Lissa. Adrian will be there, and he will let her mourne. I could see them together only if Dimitri is really gone, and if Adrian gives her time.
