Adrian Ivashkov

I disagree with the whole 'Dimitri is safe and boring' issue.

Personally, I think in every book there's this one couple that you just know are meant to be. It's not a fairy tale ending. It's destiny (a.k.a. THE AUTHOR).

Take Twilight as an example. There were thousands of Jacob fans- but in the end, we all knew Bella and Edward were going to end up together. Why?

Because usually the guy the girl is gonna end up with gets introduced in the first book. Where was Adrian during VA? Probably in a bar getting drunk.
This is not to say I dislike Adrian. He's actually one of my favorite characters. I just don't think he's good for Rose. They don't... fit. They're too similar to have a good relationship.

I believe Dimitri is not as boring as one might think. When I first read KAROLINA's post I was shocked. How could my darling Dimka be considered boring? Or safe?
He's a GUARDIAN, for God's sake! How much more dangerous can a job get? Also, he might seem wise, controlled and stable but in realiy he is just this normal guy, fighting to control himself. And, sometimes, losing.

Every kiss, every touch between Rose and Dimitri is a battle he loses against his instincts. He tries to fight against his love for her- and he can't. I think both of them are very deep characters and would hate seeing Dimitri die or Adrian end up alone.

I just think Rose/Adrian is not gonna happen. She would like him, by now, don't you think? And it's not that her love for Dimitri is blinding her- hell, no! Remember Mason in Frostbite?

I think Rose knows that Adrian is not for her. She has accepted it. So should we.

Like you I don't think Dimitri is boring, but I disagree with Adrian being the one that's too similar to Rose. If you're talking about their ability to be the object of the gossip world, then yes they're fairly similar. But Dimitri and Rose are a lot more alike: both fighting to stay in control, both Guardians, both aware that the Moroi come first. They're in tune with each other and I wont deny that I want a way for them to get together. But the idea of Rose and Adrian is kind of exciting.
With both Dimitri and Adrian there's a certain forbidden aspect hidden under the surface. (both quite obvious: Dhampir/Dhampir = not possible, Moroi/Dhampir in a strong and stable relationship = also not possible)

I think the one of the reasons Rose isn't opening up to Adrian is that she still, deep down, believe he only wants to have sex with her. And I do think he love for Dimitri blinds her somewhat, but only because Dimitri loves her back. It's easy to ignore the feelings of other people when you're certain nothing is going to change what you have now. But, unfortunately, her situation has changed. I doubt a Strigoi/Dhampir relationship would be accepted any more than the other two choices (though I'd love to see if they could pull it off)

Well, Adrian and Rose are quite similar, when you think about it.
They're both way too sarcastic
They both love to have fun
They can boh cuss like truck drivers.

I think that in a romantic relationship, the key is to be similar in the big things so you will get along, but different in the small characteristics so it will not get boring.

Dimka and Rose have similar goals and beliefs, which is important for a couple, but their personalities differ the closer Rose's gets to be like Adrian's.
Dimitri is wise, cautious- Rose is a bit reckless (OK, a lot). I think that they balance each other out but still retain a certain unity- they are different in their everyday lives, but in the end, they don't differ so much after all.

I still reckon Rose and Adrian have enough differences to be compatible, just in a different way to Rose and Dimitri.

honestly, I don't know whether I want her with him either. But I do like the thought occasionally (if only because it'll make Adrian happy)

Actually , I think it will make him miserable . Rose don't love him and he does . He needs sombody who loves him back for what he is , not for what he can give ( Money)

yeah, I wouldn't really want him to be miserable. Though he still seemed willing to wait and try at the end of Shadow Kiss.

He most certainly is. I definitely wouldn't push him out of my dreams. Rose is a dipstick for not seeing him for who he is (though I suppose with Dimitri standing next to her I can see why she did it.)

I know I do, but only when it comes to who I think is best for Rose. I guess I'd also choose Dimka over Adrian if they were real, but I really truly like Adrian as well. He seems like a good guy to me. Sexy too.

Actually if they were real, I'd probably take Eddie. lol

I'm still not sure who I like better. I absolutely adore Dimitri and waited impatiently when I first got the books for scenes when he was in it. But, after re-reading them, I love Adrian now too. *sigh*

I think that was part of my reason for liking Dimitri more. As much as I've been saying Rose and Adrian would be cute together, my first choice for her is Dimitri and always will be Dimitri because She loves and cares about him so much.

I think Dimka, and not Adrian, is the best choice for Rose because she truly does love him. Remember she even tested herself in SK when she was going to the therapist. When they're away from each other it hurts them both. I know it seems a bit unfair to Adrian, because she won't even give him a chance. But it's her circumstances that prevented that. Anyway, I really think that there's more to Dimitri/Rose than just a physical attraction, though there is tons of that too. lol

That's why I don't want him with her!. She could never love him back .

Yeah, Adrian deserves some love. lol But I hope that he and Rose can still be friends.
