no others can compare Except if you bring in Cirque Du Freak and The Vampire Chronicles into the mix, for that matter, because i know Cirque Du Freak is another series that i can stand, and i plan to read on The Vampire Chronicles, one day.

Kissed By An Angel? What is that, again? In any case, i plan to give Vampire Chronicles a shot, and i will admit that Cirque Du Freak is one of the Vamp-Induced series i can actually stand, since it's a Dark Fantasy, really.I don't know if Vampire Academy qualifies as a Dark Fantasy, or any sort of Fantasy at all, yet, so i guess i will let time and the sequels decide that much.

Tony, they go through years of training. They probably learn quite a bit.

Because for a while, Rose didn't know how to apply her Hot-Bloodedness correctly outside a fight, when she was at ages 4 or 5, when she thought her teacher was out to be a Fascist Bastard, Kim. Where's the Hot-Blooded Bad-Assed Teachers, nowadays, when the Moroi and their guardians badly needed them?If someone along the lines of the children of the Olympian God Of War were to drill the Moroi and their Guardians in how to fight or where to correctly apply their Hot-Bloodedness, i guarrentee you that the Moroi and their Guardians who are without the names of Rose, Eddie, Dimitri, and Janine would be taking massive level-ups in Bad-Ass, right there!

| It wasn't the Ancient tales I was talking about, I meant your whole teacher thing. I don't get it. It's like you're saying they don't have room for error or something. They're essentially human with a few added bonus powers, not all of them can be badass fighters with super strength and knowledge/ | |

At the same time, Kim...if the Moroi should go extinct and the Dhampir Guardians should fail to destroy the Strigoi, in time[since they are immortal!] then the problem of the Strigoi becomes our Problem, in full, Kim.

I think all that is besides the point. Not every single Guardian is going to be a good Guardian. You have to remember the political structure of this world in VA. They don't have any other choice. One may aspire to be something else but don't have the opportunity to do so. You are a Guardian or you are a Blood Whore or you are exiled. Those are the choices. Most become Guardians because they HAVE too. They dont want too. They HAVE to. Those that WANT too are good at what they do thus Janine , Rose, Dimitri, Eddie , Manson are good Guardians. It's not a matter of insufficient training. The teachers can teach adequately but it is up to the student to want to be taught and want to learn. Just because a handful of individuals are poor Guardians- it's not fair to generalize or penalize the rest of them or the teaching. The Guardians are good at what they do. True, there is a number issues. However, humans are oblivious to the existence of the vampires. Which is why there a revolution under way and political rebellion to letting the vamps to use magic and fight alongside the dhampirs.

But didn't the Ancient Spartans[along with the rest of ancient Peloponesse, for that matter!] proved that Warrior Cultures could benefit everyone else, if they are allied with Warrior Cultured Factions, in Ancient Times? When are the rest of the Royals who aren't Ozeras or Dragomirs going to take desperately needed Level-Ups in Bad-Ass, again?I had to ask myself if the Moroi Royals who aren't Ivashkovs, Dragomirs, or Ozeras wanted to die, because they were failing to take the Level-Ups in Bad-Ass that they needed.

| Noone benefits from constant war or warrior-like aspects. That's not a life, that's a way to be destroyed. And even if they do train to be capable of fighting, the smart ones don't jump into battle because by doing that you do nothing but risk your life. | |

| But didn't the likes of the 300 Spartans, along with some of the rest of the Greek allied forces who stayed with them, proved that sometimes, Warrior-Cultures can have some sort of benefits[like as the Athenians ended up having the time to develop a navy to help fight back, for one thing?] I recalled the Spartans of the ancient times even had a basic saying,'No Retreat, No Surrender...THAT, Is Spartan Law!!!' apparently someone forgotten to teach the Moroi the main purpose of that basic law[aside from not retreating, that is!] because seeing as how their academies are still massacred, without much of a fight unless they were St. Vladimir's Academy, i'm starting to think that they should find an ancient Spartan Warrior to drill them all, correctly! | |
