| I knew about the series in March this year but didn't get around to reading a book til April. I started reading it after a really crappy day because I had a test that went awfully and VA cheered me up. | |

| I actually found VA by accident over the summer. I took the summer off from school and basically went on a reading spree. ( I read 55 books) I bought some books. I found some ebooks for free. I even downloaded some books. I actually downloaded VA by accident. I thought I was getting that series that's a show now- Vampire Dairies. After i read the first book of VA I realized my mistake but no longer cared for any other series. I went out and bought the rest of the series and VA has consumed the rest of my reading activity. So i guess i'm a newbie fan, but i am very much a fan. :-) These series knocked it's way to the top of my fav. It's second place- may take over first place when the series is over- but for not it's second place. | |

That's funny. My way was a lot less interesting- my friend recommended it to me and let me borrow her copy. Boring huh?

| When i suddenly developed an urge to see death and destruction[most of it falling upon the Strigoi, the first time i heard about them from the net!]and ended up grabbing the copies of the novels.
Rose and Company do get better over time, do they not? That's something...that i felt that the Cullens and Wolf-Pack of twilight failed miserably at doing, combined.

| I remember that I was looking online for stuff to read. I kept hearing about this "Vampire Academy" series and I was like... ok whatever. lol But then I went to Walmart and saw it there and I was like, what the hell. So I bought it. I read the back cover and thought it seemed like a trashy teen novel (because of the old cover) but I bought it anyway. I read it a few days later and fell completely in love with Rose and Dimitri. I went out immediately and bought Frostbite and Shadow Kiss and had finished them both 3 days later. The obsession began last December. Still in love. | |

Mine VA discovery was kind of like that too. Only I'd just finished reading Eclipse and was out of new YA vampire stories, so I looked for more online and came across VA on amazon. But when I went searching for it here it wasn't out (this was like November of 2007 and I don't think Australia had even heard of it much at all). So I gave up the idea of looking for it. Then a few months later I was wondering around a bookstore and spotted it then so I bought it. Hooked ever since (of course)

| If i had to add anything to the matter, let me admit that so far, i can only stand the Vampires of Trinity Blood, Cirque Du Freak, and now, Vampire Academy and the Buffy-Verse..the rest might as well be staked, whether we like it or not! | |

| I think we should do both, at once, since i heard that the Vampires of the Vampire Chronicles are even more human than the Cirque Du Freak or Vampire Academy Vampires, combined, even, so it's worth giving a shot, i feel. | |

technically twilight is what got me reading again period. I used to be a reading buff but went through a dry spell when i started college( like a year or two without reading a book except when assigned for a class). I went on vacation to PR not last summer but the summer before and my cousin- in - law- to be- was reading Twilight. While i was there, and extremely sun burned , i stayed in for a day and i read the whole book in one sitting. As soon as i came back, i bought the rest of the series. I re-read the twilight series like a 100 times over the school year. But didn't have much time with school work and stuff to actually read new things. So in this previous summer i was searching for new YA novels and other vampire novels/series. Thats when i stumbled on VA. lol So yeah , i do have to thank Twilight because if not for that book I would not have started reading again at all.

| Too bad that it had to come at the price of stigmatizing an entire sub-genre, or the reasons for the movies being famous, was mostly to do with people being fed up with the Potter-World movies, for not doing a remotely decent-enough job at sticking with the character-development or the story, and just having the plot going for them, really. The Potter-World movies didn't lose the audiences, when twilight came out. They lost most of us, the moment they messed-up on the Prophecy on O.O.T.P and when they refused to fight back in 2008, at the fall, where the movies thrived in quality and enjoyability, to begin with!
That said, i still enjoy H.B.P, because at least they tried to repair the damages from the previous movies, although they should have displayed Ginny's instances of Paranoia, properly, by showing her considering using Happy Pills, and the audience would get the idea she's paranoid.I also wished we knew which guy in the Death-Eater[terroist!] photo was meant to be Regulus, but at least i'm content that they kept Regulus, at all!I even find it idiotic they never bothered to take the [correct!] Liberty of uncovering the verbal means of using The Bat-Boogey Hex, if they had a real idea on how important to Harry's survival Ginny is.

| I did read 10 out of the 12 Cirque Du Freak novels, and my brother reads the Vampire Chronicles, as well, but not me.
As for the Percy Jackson And The Olympians movies, i just hope that they could avoid the mistakes of the Potter-World movies, without creating errors of their own, while they're at it, because the P.J.O novels managed to avoid most of the errors of the Potter-World novels, including the Harry Potter Septimology, and just about virtually all the errors of the twilight novels, as well.
For the most part, overally speaking, they even have a better final duel than the Potter-World novels had, as well.So clearly, they CAN'T mess that much up, unless they have bad directors, bad screen-writers, and bad editors and Camera-men, too, for The Last Olympian!

| oh so they are worth reading. and true the potter books aren't even done yet there's still one more movie which is to be made into two parts i was kind of disapointed with the half blood prince they left alot out of the movie it wasn't one of my favoirte of the movies i have to say the first movie was my favorite and it seems there is alot of bad direcotrs and screen writters that's why i don't want VA to become a movie becuase it probally would turn out bad, but who knows. | |

| Am I like the only one that Twilight had nothing to do with when it comes to VA? That's actually really depressing. I'm not going to credit Twilight for my interest in Vampire Academy. Twilight has nothing to do with it. And in fact, we should all be crediting Richelle, because without her, there would be no VA. | |

| Another Glorious Up-side in having requiring less pages to convey their story than the Potter Septimology did, is that not too much could get cut out without ticking off the fans, royally. If i am letting the lack of Clarisse La Rue slide, it's because 'The Lightning Thief' is meant to introduce those who didn't read the novels to the Modernized-Olympian World. | |

I'm not going to credit Twilight for my interest in Vampire Academy. Twilight has nothing to do with it. And in fact, we should all be crediting Richelle, because without her, there would be no VA. I credit Dymocks (and Aussia book company) for actually having the book in stock, and my new loyalty card I wanted to try out, and VA being relatively cheap at the time I bought it. That's who I'm crediting. (though twilight got me internet searching, so I guess it gets some points for pushing me in the right direction.)

In any case, i am feeling that twilight ripped-off of Vampire Academy, if that makes any sense.
