The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Thanks Chris It's nice to be home. NZ was heaps of fun though. Discovered I'm a little uncomfortable on boats...we did a quite a few boating trips that just didn't settle too well with me. But other than that it was amazing.

And in case anyone was wondering, a friend of mine showed me a link saying the 3rd Hunger Games book will be released on the 24th of August 2010.

I don't know how reliable the website is though...but it's nice to have a sort-of release date.

Yeah, other than that everything was fine. It's such a pretty place, but I definitely started missing home after a while. I missed having a proper bed, with a roof that wasn't 30cm in front of my head (we here in a motor home and I was sleeping over the driver's seat...it's a bit hard to explain )

At least we have a date now though....even if it is far away.

one of my favorite novels this year.... i love katniss character... can't wait to read the last book.

btw this book was similar with Battle Royale, a japanese novel. I don't read Battle Royale yet, but I watche the movie. they kill each other for survive.

I think she calls her catnip because it makes her sound worse (the imagery that goes with it etc.)

I hate that nickname. I don't mind her actual name in the book, but the nickname is terrible.

Yeah, it's not particually flattering really. You'd think she'd try and fight it, but I guess it has emotional significance.

I thought that part was rather cool actually. All those sorts of moments where Peeta shocks the audience. It definitely stirs them up a bit

You know who I sort of picture as Gale? That kid from the Narnia movies. Edmund. If only he were a bit more mature looking and not so baby face-ish...
