| She's a complex character. Immature and young, yet wise and old beyond her years. She makes mistakes she shouldn't yet doesn't make some you'd think she would. She kept Lissa safe for 2 years on the run from Guardians and Victor yet no one really respects her until she has to constantly and continuously prove herself. With deep "mommy issues", forbidden love, and suitors and enemies all around, Rose aka Roza is a character that girls and women can nevertheless respect. She's the closest character to Buffy Summers I've seen in a long time. | |

| I really like Rose.
She would have to be my favorite character. I really respect her. I love how she protects the people that she loves and cares about. I just really love the kind of person that she is.

| To me, she comes closest to Joss Whedon's heroines. She's part Buffy and part Faith. She's strong, has to deal with a lot of responsibility, has an aggressive temper, yet still struggles to be "normal" and has a softer side. | |

| God, I LOVE Rose. She ranks on my top favorite characters ever list. =D Pisses me off though that she has to constantly prove herself to people. And how someone [at first] she didn't even know, respected her more than people she's known her entire life. Of course, I love the segments with her and her mom. I really wanna see Rose take down Janine in the future.
And for some reason, I have a feeling she's gonna end up facing off with her again, with what happened in Shadow Kissed.

| Buffy has got to be my favorite character of all time and Rose seems very like her. The slayers have also been strong people and Rose definitely kicks but. lol! No wonder I think she's a great character! | |

Actually, I think it prevents her from becoming a Mary Sue. I mean, we already know she's hot and everyone lusts for her. If she were also respected and acknowledged on the spot, then she'd be really boring and unrealistic. Plus, that's how life usually is. It takes a million tries to build up rep, then one tiny mistake can make it all go down. She's really a breath of fresh air, after reading about Bella Swan.

| I absolutely adore Rose. For years she thought of no-one but Lissa trying to protect her from almost everyone and everything. She's just amazing. No matter how many times she wanted something of her own (aka. Dimitri) she was always conscious of how Lissa would work into that arrangement. I know she deviated from this path a bit in Shadow Kiss, but until those last few pages she was always dedicated to Lissa. | |

| Rose is my all time favorite character. I love how complex she is, and like everyone in real life, makes mistakes. She's so badass, and I really like how finally there is a female role model where the girl can kick ass on her own, and doesn't have to be the "conventional" female. | |

| Rose is Rose. That's all I need to say. She's absolutely amazing and I relate more to HER than I do to Bella in Twilight. She's strong, impulsive, protective, fierce, BA, and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm glad we get to see things through her eyes. I love Lissa but in her POV it might be a bit too sad and shy to me. I love her relationship with everyone. She's a major flirt but she has virtues, and she's an AMAZING friend. She DOES care deeply.
SPOILER I love how she kicked Dimitri's butt. THAT was hot and awesome! I'm just like: GO ROSE! But I hope she patches things up with Janine. *shrugs* I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

Seriously, you took the words from my mouth. Bella sucks @$$. She is not a role model in anyway possible. But Rose is. Rose's attitude is very similar to mine and you just gotta love it. Bitches rule!! YEAH!! Lissa's pov might piss me off. I'm thinking that it would be: - Get dressed and look perfect - go eat and suck blood - train with adrian - get jealous of adrian mastering some of your talents - make out with christian - hang out with rose for like five minutes - go sleep BORING!! oh and one more: - talk politics. (talk about catching up on beauty sleep..) Rose is just awesome. Her pov is understandable and exciting at the same time and her life itself is exciting although dangerous. *SPOILER* and that scene is one of my favourites in Shadow Kiss. It was just so hott!! * Shivers then melts into gooey puddle on floor* I was reading it and melting at the tension... the sexual tension. I think my fave line was : "HIs eyes looked at me with pride- and a hell of a lot more." Damn, by that time I was a puddle on the floor. I'm out, essa. (need to re-read that part) *wink wink*

Why would angel princess Lissa go and be boring, when hearing about her feels fun, to me, everyone? Could Christian hurry up and mate with her, already? And why would she worry alot about looking perfect, for that matter? She's fun to stare at, to me.

I think its mainly because she tried to make Rose stay behind at the end of Shadow Kiss. I don't blame her for wanting to keep her best friend (and pretty much her only family now) safe and in her life still. She was hurt that Rose hadn't trusted her and scared that she'd leaving on what could be seen as a death mission. Not many sane people go hunting the Strigoi. But I don't like the way she went about it. Using complusion on her was definitely not a smart move.

| I agree. I got so mad. It seems to me she's a bit selfish- she wants Rose all to herself, when in reality Rose's life shouldn't revolve around her. I understand that it's the guardian motto and all that, but seriously? What kind of friend is that? In my opinion Rose gives more to that friendship than Lissa. She makes the sacrifices, she compromises, she worries about her friend.. It just seems a tad unfair. | |

| I definitely agree with the unfairness of the situation.
It's funny though, Rose never minded doing all that until they were back at the Academy again and she had something to lose by being a Guardian (Dimitri) and even then she wasn't all that upset about always being there for Lissa because Lissa had been her only family for so long. If your only desire was to protect the person who'd always been around (unlike her practically absent mother and non-existant father), then it seems reasonable to put aside possible crushes for Lissa. It's only when she realises that what she's had to give up (Dimitri once again) and how much it affected her that she's dropped Lissa. I think she's probaly hurting so much inside thinking of leaving Lissa behind, but she has to do this for herself.

| I don't think she'll drop Lissa. It's really hard to just forget a friend, especially when you've been together for such a long time and endured the same hardships- the accident, running away, Viktor's attack... I think they'll be friends again as soon as the Dimitri situation is resolved | |

| At first I was very unsure how I felt about her, but then as I read on I found that I totally respect her. I know being a dhampir means she is to protect the Moroi but she doesn't even question it. She gives up everything for Lissa all the time. SPOLIER"It's not about you, okay? This time, it's about me. Not you. All my life, Lissa... all my life, it's been the same. They come first. I've lived my life for you. I've trained to be your shadow, but you know what? I want to come first. I need to take care of myself for once. I'm tired of looking out for everyone else and having to put aside what I want. Dimitri and I did that, and look what happened. He's gone. I will never hold him again. Now I owe it to him to do this. I'm sorry if it hurts you, but it's my choice! That says it all, she has to chose..and for once she chose's for herself and not Lissa..when she did I was like YAHOOOOOOOOOO finally I love Rose, she is so many things that I admire! | |

Is that agonizing, or what? Yes! I was so mad when everyone was calling her a whore. But isn't ironic that the one who was calling her a whole [Mia] was really the whore? Hey, will Mia be in Blood Promise or the other books that are to come?

Hey, will Mia be in Blood Promise or the other books that are to come? It's also very hypocritical, as well, when Mia falsely accused Rose of being a Whore, when Rose wouldn't have needed to threaten her had Mia not went to threaten Lissa, for that matter!!! If Mia were to end up in Blood Promise, then she should either make like Draco Malfoy Or Clarisse, the Daughter of Ares from the Percy Jackson And The Olympians novels, to some extent or another, in so far as redeeming herself outrightly, or else they should kill her off, no questions asked, alright?
