| I already finished the re-read of SB
I observed that Janine (Rose mom) who always is send to "help" to the academy or court when something big happends or when Rose returned from Russia, she even mention that she take time off for the last test and graduation.... is not there for the pre-trial of Rose... No phone call, no mention, nothing.. over the last books Janine is more and more close to Rose and Rose is begining to understand the decisions and pov's of her mother...
But after graduation she disappears from the book
Im not teling that she might be implicated in someway with the murder or that she is a suspect.....its only that after graduation Rose do a few bad things and I expected some intervention from Janine but nothing... also when Dimitri came back from been strigoi nothing!!!
Maybe she will be in the first chapter of LS visiting Rose cell...
Another missing part is when Dimitri inform his family that he is alive.. well maybe RM is saving this one like in BP and have a good reason ..like rose and dimitri going together =)

| RM has already said that she didn't expect the Belikov's to be so popular so she hasn't put them in LS, and I think she's a bit gutted that she hasn't put them in cos many of the fans might be expecting them to be mentioned with them planning to go back to Russia, but for a better reason this time.
Janine, this shook me a bit, you're right, she wasn't even mentioned once after the guardian day thing. It's all too strange, but she must've gone back to do her job, but you'd think that she'd been told of the events, or Rose maybe even calling her once just for a talk with the problem with Adrian and Dimitri thing. It's all too strange for my liking, but I guess we'll find out why, or something else in LS.

| RM probably just didn't write about her like she didn't write about Eddie in BP. They simply weren't important to the plot for the moment, so why include it? Sometimes authors cannot exceed a certain word count/number of pages due to printing costs. | |

| The Guardian trail-day was probably planned and set ages ago. Janine probably applied for time off from work for it (since she's a full-time gaurdian away from everything) I know she turned up at the SK strigoi attack thing (once the main danger had sort of passed) but they waited almost 12 hours before hunting the strigoi down, so that gave them plenty of time to round up guardians in the area (obviously not from all over the world). However, Rose's trial at Court happened super fast. Janine might have been on her way, but there's no way Rose would know that especially with all the other drama, no-one's going to lean over and say "Oh, by the way, your mother told me she was going to be slightly late, but don't worry she doesn't think you actually did it." There's a chance she was on duty when Rose was accused, had to wait for her replacement to turn up, and then get to the Court (which could take forever depending on where she was at the time...especially if it's the school Summer-holiday time which could mean the family she's guarding have gone travelling). I know Abe got there pretty quickly, but his life is still a mystery, no-one really knows what he's doing or where he is on a regular basis so I'm not surprised he can travel places quickly. | |

That doesn't sound like something Rose would do. She and Janine may be on better terms now than they were a in the earlier books, but even now they're not all that close. Plus, it would probably be difficult for Rose to try to get a hold of her mother anyways since she's always so busy with her job. Either way, I don't think Janine's absence after Rose's graduation was an intentional attempt on Richelle's part to throw her into the mix of suspects for Tatiana's killer. I think there just wasn't any room in the story to add more of Janine and she's never been a very important character anyways.

It also could be possible that when the queen died the world shut off. For instance, nobody was allowed in or out of the court. Abe of course was able to sneak in because he is...well Abe.
