Thinking it was probably Abe calling up Nevermore now. Still iffy about that mystery though.

Maybe Lee was never a good magic user and thats why he's drawn to the dark side.

Wonder if Dimitri's just making a cameo in TGL or staying for the whole book?
I want to see Adrian take him on. He'll lose but it would still be fun to read.

I want Adrian to confront Dimitri, but I don't want him to be all "YOU STOLE MY GIRL *punch*". I want him to be more like "God! Don't you understand what your presence means to me. Can't you let be forget about you in peace?" and then after breaking down and probably drinking/smoking again, I want him to have a civilised conversation about how hurt he is and how he needs time to get over it. Then I want him to dream-walk into Sydney's head again and help her get over magic I like my plan.

Why would Abe call up about vampires though? He might be selling blood himself, but I doubt he wants to try and expose them all. Wouldn't it be more Abe-like to go in with a whole heap of men and beat everyone up until they stopped making tattoos?

I guess we just wait and see, I can't think of who else it might be who is asking about Vampires though. Unless it's someone we haven't met yet. But it wasn't just a "Hey, haven't you seen a vampire before?" It was more "Why are there so many pale people here now? Why are there vamps!?" It sort of sounded like there were more than 4 vamps in the area (or 6 if you count Dawn and Jacqueline) Are there secretly more vampires in the area, and if so, what are they all doing in Palm Springs?

In VA we have been told that every royal member have one or more guardians, how come Adrian doesn't have any ? I know he doesn't have the family money support, but I thought the guardians been paid by court! It seems strange for me to see Adrian so unprotected busing around, when months earlier he can even went to the mall without a guardian. Maybe is because of the sunny place but at the end after the attack?

Adrian never had a guardian though. I know he was usually hanging around court (which has enough guardians and wards to protect moroi) or the school (which also has enough guardians and wards to protect people). My guess is that he has never applied for one. I guess he could push the issue if he wanted to, but being in Palm Springs, I guess they weren't too concerned about facing Strigoi.

I liked Bloodlines alot.

I skimmed through everybody's comments here and I agree with everyone. I like the action in this book. I kind of figured out the Keith/tattoo thing early on but the action made up for the predictability for me. I like the mystery of Sydney's blood and her magic abilities. I also agree i was tad bid disappointed with the shadow kiss bond of Adrian and Jill. It's been done. There is more than enough story here to not plug in another shadow kiss bond. The same goes for Dimitri. I wasnt nearly as excited as i thought i would be. He was my fav in VA but this is a different story, .and it's like they had their time to shine in VA, we can move on now.

And i loved Eddie. He was a nice Rose replacement. He was awesome. Though i dont agree with the Eddie/Jill thing.

I'm curious how the Keeper chick will assimilate in the story, though i'm happy it's making an appearance. I wanted more of that aspect, it was so interesting.

I love being in Sydney's perspective. I think RM's writing abilities really shined through writing her. Especially the scene with the Adrian dream visit and her reaction being so close to the magic, i really felt her fear and panic.

And i'm glad we finally found out what Abe had over Sydney.

The phone call is also bothering. Thats still a mystery to me I also thought it was Abe at first but quickly dismissed it. It's not his style to make a phone call asking for tall pale people...lol. Like Kim said his style is going in with a Team of hired guardians an roughing people up lol.

As for the Spirit thing, those brought back unable to be turned.... It's interesting but the flaw in that plot is bothering me like you all. We dont know if Lee COULDN'T use magic at all or if it just repulsed him. I got the impression he simply didn't have the ability anymore. BUt then why the others and not him? Because the others are spirit users? Sorry, thats kind of lame...And what bothered me also, what random spirit user figured out how to bring someone back? It was a fairytale when Rose sought it out and all of a sudden someone else did it? I didn't like that at all. It diminishes the value of all Rose and the gang went through in Last sacrifice in my opinion .

Oh and i loved Adrian! He made me laugh so much in this book...especially his ..interesting... tattoo idea ...lol

Well, for the spirit thing, I think it could be possible that Lee couldn't use his magic anymore. Personally, I think it's because he preferred not to, but there's still a chance that he was cut off from using magic even though he was a Moroi again. With the spirit users, they get the magic from their *souls* so once they're turned back into Moroi and they have their souls, they can use spirit magic. But the others... that magic comes from the elements. Maybe if you're turned Strigoi and then turned back you can't regain that connection?

Also, if you remember from Spirit Bound when they break into the jail in Alaska they come across the high security cells and Lissa senses a spirit user... we never found out who that was. Maybe it was the spirit user who turned Lee back?

Tasha: I'm also interested to see how Angeline will work into the story. It's a bit odd bringing her in when she's spent her entire life living with the Keepers, she's not exactly prepared to live in a boarding school for her first major outing around humans. But we'll just have to wait and see where she fits.

Ash: You have a point with the spirit users taking their power from their souls, but it still seems odd that only they can regain their powers if they're turned strigoi. It works oddly, the spirit-reviving. I mean, even with Dimitri, going from Strigoi to dhampir again. At least with like Sonya and Lee they weren't really changing species, they were vampires already. But Dimitri had to lose fangs that he never had to start with. So who knows what magic/non-magic can be brought back from Strigoi-ness. There seems to be spirit questions that still need to be answered.

I thought the jail thing, she walked past the psych ward and could feel mulitple spirit users. Because that's what they did with them, carted the crazies off to the heavily guarded psych ward.

Okay, I have no idea who was on the phone with the tattoo place. That's a mystery I'll wait for.

As for who brought Lee back, I think it was Robert... They mentioned that he brought a strigoi back, but I can't remember if it was revealed who it was... I'll have to reread the books. I don't think Lee couldn't use his magic, merely that he didn't want to, because I think it's highly improbable that only spirit can be restored.

On the mystery of Sydney's inedible blood, I thought it was an Alchemist thing, but now I'm not so sure... It's the only conclusion I can think of, but I don't think it's right. I think her and Adrian would make a cute couple.

I think Angeline was brought into it because of her connection to the keepers - They don't care about interspecies relationships. I think she will help Sydney to realize that she does care about Adrian, and that it's okay for her to do so. I think Angeline was reintroduced to help Sydney break her Alchemist beliefs.

I knew right from the beginning that Adrian and Jill had become spirit bound. I don't know why, I just suspected it right away, so that wasn't a huge shock to me.

I think Eddie and Jill would be adorable! But I think before they can be together, Eddie will have to realize that Mason's death wasn't his fault, so he can get over the Micah thing.

I think that's all I have to say...

ooo, I like what you said about Angeline being introduced to help Sydney. That didn't occur to me. I just kept thinking about how unqualified Angeline is for this type of 'mission', but you're probably right. While she is there to help protect Jill, she's probably going to help change Sydney's way of thinking.

I think you're right. I mean, it was also because she was free of political influence, but if that was the only reason behind it, they could have brought Rose into the picture (sure Rose is guarding Lissa, who needs just as much protection as Jill, but they could have pulled her out). It makes sense. If we are ever going to hope that Sydney and Adrian will get together (which I'm sure they will), Sydney has to be able to move past her fear of magic and 'evil-vampires'. So having Angeline around can help her do it.

I never considered that about Angeline, but I think you've got a point there. I'm curious what it's going to take for Sydney to get over her fears to be with someone like Adrian.

I'm really excited for TGL. I love that this series keeps VA going without it being the same old story, you know? I don't know how I'd survive without this series. There were just too many loose ends not wrapped up in LS, but that might be because she wanted to use them as material for the BL series. Anyways. I REALLY hope we get to see Rose and Dimka get married sometime in the series! That's just something I really wanted to happen in the VA series that never did.

I've watched up to chapter 5/6. Idk if they have posted anymore since.

Actually @SecretMagic I have to disagree with you on the bond. We never fully learned anything about Spirit, just the facts. You can heal and bring back the dead. The user can create spirit dreams. And all that other jazz. But, really we have no understanding of it because it isn’t clear cut like the other elements. So, by doing this I feel she is trying to hit two birds with one stone, give Adrian a reason to be in and explain more about Spirit; to clearly define it. Though she could have made it a little more difficult to guess that Adrian and Jill shared a bond. I had my suspicions right after the how she said bye to Adrian in the beginning and the “hangover” thing sealed the deal for me.

But, as much as we want to see him face Dimika and Rose, because we know that is the only way for him to fully move on… I say it isn’t going to happen. Well, at least not anytime soon. If (or more like a matter of when) Sydney and Adrian get together, I think Richelle is going to use that as something to test their relationship. You know make that a catalyst for an argument and lead into him having to finally face it. That or Sydney using it against him because she is scared to go against everything she has ever been taught even though her heart is telling her too. She would use it against him knowing that Adrian is scared of that confrontation and will put off doing anything about it for awhile. But, that is just me and I always think of the most dramatic way for something to be resolved in any book I read.

But, for some reason I am not as interested in know about Sydney trying to explore her witchy powers or why her blood isn’t tasty. I guess because there was a line in the book about how she had owed Abe s thousand favors or something like that, I know a bit of an exaggeration, however I don’t think it was just that one thing with Carly or anything like that. I feel like Sydney has asked Abe for favors more often then we know of and more is going to come out the bag later maybe. (I’m hoping…)

As for Jill and Eddie, this is just going to be cute. Though I feel like Eddie is going to be a bit like Dimika and go all I must focus on my duty. His will power is going to be really tested before anything really happens between the two if at all. Actually come to think of it same goes with Sydney and Adrian. God, there is going to be a lot of teasing in this story isn’t there.

Though does anyone else think Zoe is going to play a big role later on? I feel like she is going to try and prove herself way to much to make her dad proud and get caught up in everything and make the wrong choices that are going to lead up to the downfall of Sydney in some way.

Now on to other mysteries. I have no clue about who was calling Nevermore. I can’t seem work out a theory on that one yet, especially since there is no clues to work with.

But, @In_love_with_Belikov13 I think your idea on how she is going to use Angeline is really good.

And someone who was writing a fanfiction on ff.net had an interesting theory about Trey. Like he knows about magic too like Ms. Terwilliger.

I started reading this series just days ago and I love it. I cant stop reading it. I like that its from Sydney`s perspective as it creates the whole conflict of what she is experiencing with them all against the beliefs she has been brought up with. Im currently on The Golden Lily and I like that Dimitri`s in it. I LOVE him so no complaints there. Really I see Adrian starting to see Dimitri as someone to look up to rather than hate, he`s very envious of Dimitri, not just because of Rose but because of Eddie also looking up to him. It would be nice if Sydney and Adrian end up together
