| I've read The Golden Lily and Slide by Jill Hathaway this week so far. Argh, I want to start something new this weekend but I don't know what to read. I'm really just sort of dying to get my hands on THIS IS NOT A TEST by Courtney Summers next week. I want to read me some zombies. I've only heard good things about this book so that makes me even more excited for it. | |

| I just finished The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. I totally died a little while reading this book. Violet and Jay are just too freaking adorable. | |

Kim-How would you compare the WMVP? series to Night Huntress and Kate Daniels?

| I like KD and Night Huntress better, but probably because I invested a lot more time into them. WVMP is fun, twisty and sneaky...but it's not like NH with vampires fighting vampires and working in a secret organisation (aka. Don Williams/Tate government run thing) but it does have the vampires-are-secret thing and there is a government organisation in the story helping to keep everything covered up (but they also cause more trouble than good) The vampires in WVMP just want to exist, relax and live their "normal" lives. It differs heaps from KD, because the magic and supernatural stuff is all out in the open there and the world is crumbling. WVMP is definitely closer to NH. BUT it's UF not PNR. Yes there's sex and sex references...but definitely not as detailed as NH.
Probably what makes NH slightly (and I mean slightly) better in my opinion is because of the music references in WVMP. I don't dislike them, they work so well for the book and it's part of what makes Jeri so awesome, is that she has this passion for bring music into her stories and she works meaning into it all...but at the same time, it's music I probably wouldn't listen to on an everyday basis, so I can't just pull a tune up out of my head when a reference is made and while I'm tempted to go listen to a few songs, I'm not going to go out of my way to download them all. They pass over my head. But like I said, it works really well for the story - you sort of need to add music and pop culture stuff to a story that involves DJ Vampires. If they don't mention a few songs every now and then you don't get the same music-lovers feel.

| It's the name of a series by Jeri Smith-Ready. It's represents a radio station: "94.3 WVMP" (the 'V' is a reference to the fact that all the DJs are vampires ) It's good. I've got about 150 pages left of book #3. Then I'm going to read the essential and currently free novella set between books 3 and 4 and then wait (im)patiently for #4 to be released later this year. | |

| What did you think of 50 shades? I've heard a lot about it. Good, bad and 100% mocking.
Reading the initiation (secret circle #1) by LJ Smith at the moment.
Has anyone read Pandemonium sequel to Delirium? It's next on my reading list.
Kim - should I bother with Embrace? It has a below par ending doesn't it?

| About fifty shades.... without spoilers.
I picked it up because i wanted to know what the fuse was over. I read all three back to back. I personally think it was terribly written. The author just lacks ability to express dept and development and even her basic storytelling is poor. Also, the fact it started as a twilight fan fiction really shows. Just replace the vampires with BDSM ( bondage/discipline , sadomasochism ). It was supposed to be an erotic novel, but she failed miserably at writing erotic. I wasn't hot and bothered reading the sex scenes. And there were just too many sex scenes it was redundant. By the time i reached the last book i skimmed over almost all the sex scenes. I did enjoy the underlining story. Alot. I found myself liking the last book the most because there was more story than any other of the two. I did like the exploration of a dominant/submissive lifestyle.. but since i'm familiar with lose in the lifestyle.. i think it was a poor representation of the lifestyle. But , if just reading the novel to read without criticizing or thinking too deeply... a fluff read... than yeah i can see it as a good book. Not great. Not awesome. Just okay. I actually think the movie will be AMAZING and I am looking forward to that. The basis for something amazing is within these novels. Just the author lack the dept and ability to manage it. I think the movie will really bring the story to life. I think it is worth the read, but not a must read. A filler. rented, not purchased. Borrow it from a friend.
And Hunger was good. It was different and kept me interested enough to read it even though i was tempted not too because its just personally not my taste. BUt it was a good book, better for those that like that type of book . IT was way too teen angst for me. But, i liked the story and i have the other two books and I"m going to read it.

I just finished If I Stay and its sequel Where She Went. SO incredibly good.

Libby: I really loved the first 3 Embrace books...but yeah, the 4th lacks the same awesomeness. It's still an ok book, but not at the same level.

| I loved Embrace but I haven't read the other books yet.
Tasha, I'm with Kim. What did you think of Shifters?
And I really doubt I'll be reading 50 shades. I was curious about it b/c of the hype, but with everything I've read about it, I just don't think I would enjoy it. It's not my cup of tea.
Gonna try to start Before I Wake (Soul Screamers 6) tonight. I'm still stuck in the Kate Daniels world but books 4 and 5 won't be here until Friday : / I knew I shouldn't have started it until after I read BIW.

| I loved the shifters series. Kind of sad it ended. There is so much story left to be told. I really liked the story and the drama. It wasn't forced or reaching or trying to hard. It just flowed. Though i was annoyed in the last book with the love triangle. I'm most likely going to re-read the series soon lol. | |

| The love triangle thing in Shifters killed me. I was dying waiting to find out who Faythe would end up with. But the story, the emotion, the action is amazing. Shifters is on my favourites list | |

| Shifters is tied in first for my fav adult series with The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. I was torn when it ended, but completely satisfied with how it ended. - Spoiler:
I'm a HUGE Jace fan, but Faythe was always meant to be with Marc. They just fit perfectly imo. But I agree, there's still so much left to be told. I'm dying for a Jace story. And there is an Abby novella in an anthology called Chicks Kick Butt. Abby is in college in Jace's territory. He's in it but I would love more on Jace, Abby, Kaycee, and Faythe and Marc. Now I want to reread the series. It's been about 20 months since I've read it.

| Currently reading Anna Dressen in Blood. It's alright so far....found the beginning to be a bit slow, but it's picking up. So gross though (for a non-Horror person) | |
