What's everyone up to?

You say that now, but everything changes when you become a parent. Idk how I will be once my kids are teenagers. I just hope my kids feel that they can and do come to me for any and everything. I want to be a cool mom, but not the I want to be your best friend kind of mom. Thats a line that should never be crossed imo. I honestly dread the teenage years...

of course i'd be protective of them, but i'd want to give them more frreedom than my mom gives me.

Yeah. My mom gave me roughly the right amount of freedom. She wasn't too strict but she didn't just let me run off and do whatever I wanted to neither. I was a fairly good teen. I was just mouthy

btw I didn't mean for it to sound liek I was saying you wouldn't be protective. Sorry

I just hope i'll be a good enough mother that I raise my kinds well enough that I can trust them to make good choices

I know this sounds wrong but I really hope I have a boy. I don't know I can really see myself with a little boy, taking him with me to bookstores (one thing I will insist on is that he reads lol)

LOL that doesn't sound wrong. Most people have a preference. And just be careful not to push the reading issue. My mom did and it pushed me away from reading for a really long time.

I know this sounds insane, but I've always wanted twins. Either a boy and girl or twin girls. When I was preg with my son I was really hoping for twins. They run in my hubby's family. He's got twin sisters and its time for another set so who knows. He doesn't want anymore kids and I'm torn between wanting 1 more and wanting to go to school and start my career.

LOL i'd probably have him grow up around books and hope that as he gets older that he still likes it.

I'd love to have twins! twins have always facinstated me, I have a story about two sets of twins (all brothers)

I just want a kid. I don't think I could handle twins until they're in kindergarten.

I ended up writing a story so i figured i'll give a little warning.

U know i've been thinking about the kids topic these past few days and i all i could think was "thank god i dont have kids" ... i just dont know how you parents go through everything and still are good parents. I barely can catch my bearings between my dad and my boyfriend/fiance. Like today, i tried to go to sleep early but woke up at 10 to give the bf meds. Woke up at 1120ish to walk him to the bathroom. Again at 12 to give him his meds. Then at 130ish i woke up again to walk him to the bathroom. Then at 3am he was spazing, hallucination of sorts. It was scary but effing hilarious at the same time. He was going crazy saying "bandages! They charging me for bandages!" I'm like WTH who? He was like the doctors! and he felt his head. "THEY LIED TO ME I DONT HAVE BANDAGES!" It was scary cause it was like wth is he talking a bout but sooo funny. I talked him down told him he doesn't need a bandage the doctor took it off himself and we see the doctor in a week and half. And he was like okay.. and just mumbling every couple minuets "effing bandages". Lol. After that ordeal we went back to sleep but i had to wake up at 6 to give him meds again. FInally i knocked out and slept till 830. He was waking up and i was trying to hard to pretend to be sleeping so he would go back to sleep so i can sleep later. But he saw me and woke up. SO i got up and made him breakfast. Then i checked and did some stuff for my dad. I just sat down to have a cup of tea and some soup and check the internet. After this, i'm going to help the bf wash up and dress and stuff. Then i will get ready my self. I have to go to the supermarket for a few items. Then i have to go to the bank and the phmarcy to look for a shower cap.. but a really good one cause the hubby can't wet his head at all, the wound can't get wet. Then later at 3 i have to walk over to my doctors office and see he if accepts clients without insurance. the hubby doesnt have insurance. We applied while in the hospital for Medicaid but the application is pending. And the hospital only gave up a 14 day supple of his anti-seziure medication. So we need to take him to a doc ASAP.

But let me tell u something. I damn near had a heart attack Tuesday wen i was filling his prescription in the hospital pharmacy. His anti-seizure medication the lady was pricing everything out for me and so she wrote the price on the back. I seen a t "6" as the first digit. So i'm thiking okay, 60 something bucks, a little pricey but manageable. She hads me the paper with the price and it was 697.77. I was like " IS THAT SIX HUNDRED!!!" She was like yeah. SO we called a social worker in the hospital, and she got us a generic brand for free for 14 days. But i'm worried how much generic would cost. We just dont have that kind of money laying around. My hubby has 1,220 savings and thats it. He hasn't been working for long.

We're going to apply for disability. My brother is getting the paperwork from his job for us. And friday we're going to medicaid office to apply for regular emergency assistance. Cause the hospital said they might not apply for regular Medicaid, just temporary so they cover the hospital/surgery bills. Which is great. But we still need to get him coverage.




Anywho, i gotta get going but I hope everyone is well.

Its getting hard for me follow along. I check briefly everyday but its just like pages and pages of stuff i missed. Sorry if i missed anything important.

@Tash I'm so sorry you went threw all this, thats alot for one person to threw. I hope everything gets better soon, your hubby is very lucky to have some one as amazing as you. 600 dollars for medicine, I don't think meds should cost so much, especially for people in your situation (even my family we could never afford 600 dollar meds) I hope everything comes together smoothly *huggles* xoxo

Oh I woke up to get my tire fixed and a mantainance for my car... 564$ and then job hunting

Tasha: I'm sorry you didn't seem to get much sleep. It sucks that essential medication is so expensive. I hope everything works out for you. ... Yeah, my grandmother's been having a bit of trouble. My mum went to visit her for the weekend, so well see how everything goes. My aunty didn't want to put her in a nursing home, but then she got sick this morning, so it looks like my gran will have too stay in the hosiptal a bit longer...we really don't know what's going on.


On the kids conversation. I had to laugh Sam when you said you've always been fascinated by twins, only because I've never really been fascinated by twins...might be because I am a twin, but that's totally not the point. I've never thought much about any kids I want.

Tasha, I am SS that you are going through all that and not getting the sleep you need to be able to handle it. My son had a head trauma when he was 2 months but he never had to have surgery and that was scary enough so I can only imagine what you are going through. I Pray that you get everything you need soon so he's taken care of and that he continues to get better. We all love you and we're here for you. HUGS.

I missed everyone too. It drove me crazy but I read a book so it helped some.

I'd be lost with out my computer ... It was gone for a month once and I was going insane o_o

And Kim, i hope everything works out with your grandma. And about nursing homes, its tough to put a loved one in those places, but not all of them are bad. My dad was in a nursing home after his heart attack. He received the care and treatment and rehabilitation he needed that we just couldn't provide at home. Sometimes its for the best medically speaking. And God forbid something were to happen, help can get to them faster. I know thats part of my problem now. I sleep with my phone in my hand or close by. I'm so anxious the bf will go into a seizure or something will happen and i'm a not a doctor you know? So i'm anxious and on edge 80% of the time ready with my cell phone to call 911. Atleast when he was in the hospital i knew he was surrounded by medical professionals.

yeah not all nursing homes are bad. My great grandma she lived in a very nice place, it was very independant and she was able to do her own thing. But there were nurses around if she needed them. I went and visted her a few times
