Sometimes you have to think of the kiddies. lol She's actually 15, but she prefers not to read that kind of stuff. Either way, I think it'll work out better without one. Maybe just a tease of one, which is what I intend to do when the time comes.
Good for her. I'm fifteen and I read a LOT of those I think my story just has to be M-rated if I want it to be what I originally intended - dark and dirty among other things I'm polishing the first chapter at the moment. I can't help it, I'm a perfectionist. I wonder if I'll ever be able to let it go and publish it You can always make it work under T-rating. Like you said, a tease of one. Kind of like what Richelle did - she said nothing yet she said everything, you know? I really admire the way she pulled it off. Unlike Meyer who didn't know what to do and just skipped to the morning after. Just imagine the faces of the readers when they realized

Either way, I think it'll work. It better work. Actually, I think my writing is sort of juvenile to begin with, so that M-rated fic I wrote last year could probably be rated T and nobody would know the difference. What I wrote yesterday... was definitely not T-rating material. It doesn't compare to the likes of RM or JR Ward or other seasoned romance writers, but it was probably the riskiest thing I'd ever written. Letting go was definitely the hardest for me. Maybe it wasn't ready. I still don't think it is. But I'm trying to let go of those chapters now that they're out there and continue on with what needs to be written. I haven't touched my fic since I published the first chapter. Bad. Bad. And it's even worse now that people are waiting for more. Granted, it's only like four people, but still. Now there are expectations.

That's why I don't want to publish it yet. I can't trust myself that I won't change my mind and delete it all. I want to be deeper into the story and know it's working before I start publishing. I would hate to disappoint the readers by not updating because I'm stuck or removing the whole story - some authors do that and it really annoys me if I'm following the story so I don't want to do that to my readers. It's different for you, though. You have it all figured out so there isn't much to worry about. I'm not saying it's going to be easy to actually write it, but the plot you have worked out is a big deal to have off your chest.
