| the moment was all wrong... i couldn't speak. i found myself trying to remember all that was said the night before between him and me. I hadn't said anything, ANYTHING, wrong. all i told him was i didn't feel good, i wasn't feeling great. and now he was leaving. He was leaving, never coming back. i wanted so badly to run after him, leave this town with him. but my feet were planted to the ground and i just couldn't find the words to explain this rush of emotion coursing its way through me. i had to be strong. so as i stared at his retreating form, the sun's last lights flickering out around his 6'1 height, i took a deep breath, and turned around, fighting the urge to wrap my arms around him and tell him i loved him. i blinked twice. the tears disappeared and i took a deep breath, walking back into my house. the door slammed shut behind me, telling me what i already knew. i wouldn't let him make me cry. i wouldn't let him get me down. I strode down the hallway purposefully, ignoring all our pictures outlining the walls, and tossed onto my bed, my purple comforter twisted around me. i stared up at my ceiling with my wrist in the air, looking at the bracelet. The bracelet caressed my wrist gently, with sparkling little figurines dancing along the light of my room. there was a fairy on one charm, with midnight, black hair and dark sapphire eyes. it stared back at me accusingly. it reminded me so much of him. With his short, black hair that curled around the nape of his neck... and the eyes so dark and mysterious, they looked so foreboding to me. i closed my eyes and dreamt of him. The nightmare flashed back, over and over again. | |
