| Looks like Shiver might be made into a movie! source: http://m-stiefvater.livejournal.com/128963.htmlI Love this book and figured I'd share the news in case someone else was interested. Here's what it's about Shiver: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. Linger: available July 20, 2010 The sequel to Shiver follows the story of Grace and the wolves of Mercy Falls. Maggie says: "It's about after. What happens after you discover there are werewolves in the wood, after you've fallen in love for the first time, after you've lost what you think you can't live without, after you've become someone you can't live with." ...grace... This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one. Just a few months ago, it was Sam who was the mythical creature. His was the disease we couldn't cure. His was the good-bye that meant the most. He had the body that was a mystery, too strange and wonderful and terrifying to comprehend. But now it is spring. With the heat, the remaining wolves will soon be falling out of their wolf pelts and back into their human bodies. Sam stays Sam, and Cole stays Cole, and it's only me who's not firmly in my own skin. Ther will be 1 more book called Forver but Idk when it'll be released | |

| I really liked these books. Sam is such a sweet guy. A lot of people I've seen don't like Grace... and I don't know why! She's pretty likeable in my opinion. Linger was a great sequal. It had slower parts to it, but wow the ending was so shocking. It's horrible because I want the next book now. Have you guys seen the cover? The next one's red! Eeee. I'm excited already. (here it is, for those who haven't seen it and want to... yet are too lazy to google it like me haha!) | |

| I totally called it over the summer when Maggie said the new cover was finished. I said to my sister, "The Forever cover will be either yellow or red and the blood dot is going to be the O." I'm glad I was right. lol It seemed to be the only way for all of the covers to have the same look/feel. Which is great because the Forever cover is pretty damn awesome imo. I actually haven't read Linger yet, but I'll get around to it eventually. Maggie is pretty chill. I met her at a signing. She's even wackier irl than she is online. | |

| Maggie is hysterical. She's local to me so I've gotten to meet her many times. I liked both of these books, LINGER a bit more than SHIVER. But I like her faery books even more! | |

| I only read the first 50 pages in the 1st book but I felt the writing was too immature. Like the author was talking down to the writers. Hmm...maybe I need to keep reading. | |

| I say give it a chance. Read at least half-way through and see how you like it then. | |

I've read a couple of Maggie's books, but while I thought the plots were weak, I found her use of language to be quite beautiful. It's almost like reading a poem or a song because you can feel everything in the words. I wish I could write half as well as Maggie. I find the characters in Maggie's books to be immature, but definitely NOT her writing. I'm surprised by how many authors these days get published when they can barely grasp the concept of grammar. | |
