New and Aspiring Author

Judgment.

We live in a world full of judgment. We live with religious, historical, or personal. I spun around in my room as a child wondering why there was hate between my parents and neighbors. I judge them for being morons about the situation. I walk home from the bus stop watching a pack of men mob a woman. I judge them because they are no better than a pack of wild hounds pursuing innocent prey. Then I stand in front of my class and await my own judgment. How is it that when you judge others it doesn’t affect your own mental being? Who are we to judge others, what gives us the right? Being free, yes, but it must come with a price. I mean are we people of a society of opinion or flat out hatred. Being judged doesn’t have to be bad does it? Well all I see is bad judgment.

Personal judgment strikes me more than anything. I watch every day, every day, how colored people get treated. I watch them get beat, cursed out, and yelled at. Does it really matter if I’m white and you are black? They are nothing but color. Who am I to judge you of that? Color to me is one symbol of expression. A famous man who we have lost in this life time wrote a song that explains many things I question, two actually. His name was Michael Jackson. I’m a fan of his music but little of him. He did good things and wanted to change the world, but life was swept away from him in the silence of night. He wrote Black or White and Man in the Mirror. They explained with a little encouragement and a little faith for change we could end everything about judgment, hatred, discrimination, and prejudice.
