ok so i mean we all love VA right? But why?

ok i was curious nad hoped to get some responses. I love this series but then again i question myself sometimes. Like i ask myself, "Why Do I Love it? Is it because of Dimitri? Because of Rose? because of anything?" I mean i only got started on my reading craze because of twilight. i read them and i was like Woo Twilight! none of you qoute me. when i heard they became a movie A i was dissapointed B new moon was better Voluturi rock! wish they would've killed that bastard edward it would of made the series way better. Jacob all the way! and to finish up this post. I want to know why is it that when we read Romance and Excitement that it draws us closer to the brink of crazziness and leaves the books that were special not...

nah i so agree with you i still figure out why i liked twilight was it becuase of edward was it becuase the idea of a vampire romance. even with VA i don't know why maybe becuase of dimitri or again being with someone immortla. but then again i question that on a lot of things like why do i like this guy what draws me to him? why are there humans but no other life form? why the sky why pink instead of red wow lol. idk really i meanreading the whole fantasy thing i think changed my perspective of things, i think to me its just nice to get away and read something and be in a nother world and to get away from all the problems i may have.

For me it's an imagination escape sort of thing. The fantasy world is awesome because you get to think of things that haven't been discovered. I mean, we could say that things like Vampires and faeries and demons don't exist, but for all we know they do exist and we're just not in on the secret. So reading about them, for me lets me imagine that there's another life, another world that's happening right under our noses.
But even without the fantasy genre, it's nice to have an escape. I don't mean that my life is horrible and I have to find somewhere else to escape to, because it isn't, I love my life. But books take you to places (even without a supernatural theme) that you've never been to before, and describe a lifestyle that will never parrallel yours (because lets face it, no two people are alike...not even twins....and being a twin I can vouch for that one).

For me, books in general grab me completely when I can put myself in the place of the protagonist. When I lose sight of what's happening around me in the real world and focus completely on what's written in front of me.

Both of you mentioned Twilight, and how you couldn't really understand your liking of it. For me, while it was written badly and dragged on a bit, it was the perfect escape. It made you question what was really out there in the world, it was easy to understand, nothing too complicated that caused you to forget what had happened earlier OR make you aware that you're still in the "Real" world.

VA's the same only with the added bonus of action, plot and being well written. (which makes it 110% better than Twilight, but equally as good an escape.)

see yeah i totally get the hole escaping i love my life but its nice reading about things that should exsist. i just think that most people don't won't to be around that they just want things normal. And also you said that nobody is alike i agree with that people could say they have everything in common with you but really you probally have little in common or not alot as you expected.

And now that i read twilight over and over again i realize that the writting is sorta cheesy but it's also a love story that most girls would kill for and the hole vampire werewolve thing is different probally why most people come to like it.

But over all VA is the best series!

Not only are people different, but just that you won't find a novel that mirror's your life, making everything a new experience for you. Sure you might spot similarities and feel more drawn to certain characters and storylines because of that. But you can't look at a book/character and go "They have my life"

that is so true becuase somtimes when i am reading a book i will be like oh im going through that or wow she acts just like me but in the end i realize it was just a story and im the real one living breathing and living a life.

lol, when I come to that realisation my reaction is more like "Oh damn, that's right, I don't have super cool magical powers and a fabulously gorgeous boyfriend too. Bugger"

i mean yeah i read twilight i loved the fact that it was a romance and it is what i long for. i mean in twilight it did drag on and didnt really have a point in my opinion. I love VA because its more real. it has definition, power, difficulties and love. in tl it didnt have a quater of those things. I think VA drew us closer to it because of yes the love, power, romance, and to theteens like me and tori, it gave us a vision of how difficult life is for everyone. having to balance love, life, responsibilities, and the course of another and your lives on the line. It has deffinately opened my eyes to new things and possible other worldly beings out there. i mean ghost for example i mean i kinda do and dont believe in them but if i can see it and touch it, its real. And i mean have you ever just laid down finished lets just say FB and think "God, life can be gone in a blink of an eye. it takes alot to value what we have." every time i read a VA book i sit therre in my room for hours just thinking about different things RM will bring up in the books. wbu guys? i mean come on what did ttwilight ever do to make you think? maybe just thius "Bella pick Jacob damn it not the bloodsucking life ruiner!" Thats just me and those came out of my mouth. It made me want to reach in the books and choke every last person in there. But VA made me value life more nad to take things more seriously. i have lost people in my life and i can never forgive myself for never getting closer to them. and Va told me that "in life things dont always balance out right so learn to value both life and those you love. because one day the scale could tip and it could all vanish." so do you know where i'm coming from now?

It couldn't be just the colorful descriptions or the eye-candy, could it?

wow yeah i can relate to VA alot and i think a main reason why i like to read so many books is becuase i relate to them but VA is the most i just love all of it the romance action def my fav YA book.

yep i can realte Rose in many ways and i think reading about her made me see more clearly

i know! becuase like literally all the other books i have read the girl is so weak doesn't fight or stick up for someone or is willing to die for love, and is so weak. and rose is so strong and confident ilove it!

I don't know, reading fantasy books have never made me question what does or does not exist in the world. I've never been shocked by the author's imagination that it makes me wonder what is out there. I've always been pretty open to the idea that these myths/stories/creatures/beings had to originate from somewhere and why not have them exist still.

Yes Cross, I guess the eye-candy characters play a part for some peoples enjoyment, but honestly they don't factor in for me. I get excited about couple coming together, but I've never read a series specially because I like the "hot guy". (or "hot girl" if that's what you like).

I recognise similarities with characters, but that's also not what draws me into liking a character. I've never really discovered myself through a character. I'm Me, and the character is the character; and we stay pretty separate (unless of course I've lost myself in the story and I'm sort of imagining myself as the main character ... but I can bounce out of that pretty quickly.)

i have to kepp this short because im finishing up another chapter to Tender Kisses but i love these books nad if you do value your sanity as a person and dont get sucked too far into the books your fine

just an escape and sort of reliefe to what missing in my life or maybe want

i mean we all need a place to escape. if it includes a hunky male lead why not? and either it be books, art, crafts, or here we all need a place to escape from stress. imagination being a good plce to go.

It's one of those series' tht has a plot the grips you and you can't get free until you get to the very end.
