- perpetual - I think the show is shit. I watched one ep and it was 100% garbage. The dialogue was bad, the acting was 5th rate, and WAY too many stupid changes all in the name of "edginess". I would love to take all the tapes or however it is they record this drivel and toss them in a dumpster and then set it on fire. And that's being kind.
...and I get that. But you don't have to be all angry about it. The show is definitely not as bad as you say. Calm. Down. That's all I'm saying. It isn't that serious.

| I still think Rose is a Tsundere! But how do we know they'll stick with Lissa's Angelic Descriptions? | |

But how do we know they'll stick with Lissa's Angelic Descriptions? The reality is Tony, no matter what, weather a anime or movie of tv series or graphic novel or whatever else there is, we will NEVER know is they stick with descriptions we read in the book. Plus we alllllll intrepret things different. What is MY perfect Dimitri - someone else can hate. What your perfect Lissa is- someone else could disagree. Even if RM herself somehow found people exactly like how she imagined when writing VA - we might still disagree. The best they can do is that looks somewhat alike and hope they bring the characters to life by staying true to traits and qualities of them.

| I would agree with what others say, that Lissa should be bubbly, high-spirited[in more ways than one!] and Angelic[the latter of the 3 meant alot to me, really!]yet...she should show a darker side, too, mainly to remind us that not all Angels are good, and even some good angels tend to have some sort of breaking point, as the latter is what Lissa managed to prove, time and again! | |

Oh you're right, it's a lot worse! I could use way more colourful descriptors, but there are minors here. The show IMO gives the wrong messages to young people. They don't need to be a society of people who sleep around with each other at the drop of a hat. They certainly don't need the message that doing drugs is normal or OK. The books were wholesome. They don't need to be made more "edgy". - Quote :

This is the whole argument AGAINST making movies or TV shows about RM's books. I like my images. I don't want them tainted.

Granted the exposure could be wonderful for RM.. but i want to be selfish and preserve the story the way i know it- in my head.

| You mean...if the Vampire Academy adaptions don't follow the same sort of structure Cirque Du Freak has, in the same sort of way that The Narnia Septimology shares the same sort of structure as the Middle-Earth novels...say hello to more underage whoring than just Mia doing that stunt, and good-bye to Angel Princess Lissa? | |

| I read the Vampire diaries books and I loved the series even if I think it's a little dated, I don't know how to explain it. Somehow, you can feel it's written in the nineties. I wasn't fond of Elena Gilbert in the beginning, I couldn't understand how somebody as shallow-minded as she seemed to be could be such a "powerful mind" and all that way Damon used to describe her ! But finally, I got into it because of Stefan or Bonnie's characters first and after, Elena's character becomes more interesting. But the series was definitely innovative I think and I'm pretty sure that many Stephenie Meyer's ideas for the Twilight vampires derived from the VP-universe. But I must say I'm disappointed by the TV show ! I wasn't by the pilot because the guy they casted to play Stefan is perfect and I loved to see the books being embodied in images. The beginning was promising and then it became boring. I don't like the changes they made, I don't like they skipped Meredith, Caroline is pathetic, where did they get her ? and finally I don't like Elena not being superficial in the beginning lol ! And really Stefan looked totally ridiculous playing football with his scrawny legs ! But I keep watching it because of, OK I have to admit it, because of Stefan lol ! And it looks like something is happening at the end of the 4th episode. I'll watch the 6th tonight and I'll see if it confirmed in my ideas. As for VA, I think I don't want it to become neither a film nor a TV show ! Really, these guys from the movie business always screw up and spoil everything I love in a book ! I remember how Robert Pattison almost killed MY Edward and I won't let it happen again lol !

| In any case, this is the closest to how i would imagine Rose if she were in Anime-form, really, if it helps! Minus the Glasses, that is! | |
